I've been watching you for awhile now and you've came along way with your videos. I just want to chime in to thank you for all your videos and the awesome explanation on how power supplies work and how to troubleshoot them. You're like the king of TV repair videos, keep up the good work.
@bigdog8882 the second I found your chan, I subbed. I also asked on another of your videos (55 inch TCL disassembly I believe) about how some people think it's not worth fixing modern TVs, what is your take, cause I'm opening a shop in my area (southern WV)
i started in electronics out of high school after 1993, and i truly miss fixing shit to component level! Thanks for your videos, man! p.s: loving that meter!
You got theory down, nice diagnosis. been subscribed for a year or so, you have helped me with my TV hustle a lot. thank you! two things, get a good solder fume extractor, that stuff can hurt you. the cheap ones suck. Also Flux is your friend, get some Amtech NC-559 and the solder will run to your braid. cheers!
Much appreciated for your videos they are absolutely amazing. I wondered if you are able to point in the direction with something if possible. UK voltage @ 240v. When checking the output pins on my plug socket 240v👍. When plugging it into TV and checking voltage again this is reducing to 109v. Same voltage at my bridge rectifier. If I remove the fuse and check the leg that holds the fuse the voltage is now back at 240v👍. As soon as I apply the fuse in circuit, i then incur the voltage drop. So I must have something drawing down the voltage? I Removed the bridge rectifier to see if it could be this and minimise the amount to diagnose however I still get the voltage drop when removed. I know you work on 110v, have you ever plugged in your 110v plug and received a much reduced voltage to this. Many thank you
Howdy @@bigdog8882 many thanx for the reply. The TV is currently dead. Initially it was just showing a red light but I had a mishap with earthing by bridge rectifier (whoops big spark) by accident. I have replaced this since and now obtaining these 109v around the place. However my red standby light hasn't restored either. This board has certainly been a learning process for me and I'm really keen to find the sourse of the issue. Sorry the plug doesn't have a switch to alter between 110 or 240. It's just a straight 240v plug. Once again many thanx for yr content. I dont know how many times I have viewed these 2 latest videos. Stay safe and keep up the great work
Thanks for your videos on troubleshooting big screen tvs. I had a 60" Samsung that the screen went black, with your help, figured the LED's were bad. ordered new ones installed and they worked fine. I must have did something to the screen or one of the flat cables. The screen comes on but nothing but streaks of different colors, some top to bottom some looks like lighten strikes. I figure its junk. I don't know what to do with the boards and LED's, shame to toss them. would you be interested in them?
I have the same TV and same problem. I am going to purchase one of those meters, thanks for the link. I would like to know where you got a schematic for the SMPS, especially if it is a BN44-00667A ?
Big Dog, Thank you for sharing, I too have the Vizio 55" MODEL 55DO Same model same problem, less the dark spot. My tv comes on and then starts flashing and doesn't stop. I can see the Channel at every flash but it is flashing like a strobe light and does not come on continuously, just flashes. ALREADY CHANGE ALL THE LED LIGHTS Please help.
Hello Big Dog .. Regards from Veracruz Mexico. I am starting with tv repairing , can you help me with suggest to get the full BN-044-00667A schematic diagram? I cant find it in the web. Thank You.

Sir, you explained very well, thank you very much. I think it is more efficient to tell by drawing in this way, thank you very much

Is the Device working or dead? Also Check to make to make sure device doesn't have a 110v/220v selector switch on the back by the plug.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
You had the probe's negative alligator clip attached to earth ground? Did you use an isolation x-frm??
always
