- We have a Samsung model LN-T5265FX lcd television that won't turn on, all the TV does is repeatedly clicks but never completely powers on.
This television uses a switch mode power supply BN44-00150A which is known for bulged 1000 micro farad capacitors on the secondary side of the Power Supply causing the television to just click ON and Off or power cycle.
Even though we find that the standby voltage is fluctuating; the 1000 uF capacitors was not the problem in this particular TV.
So we will troubleshoot and fix the constant clicking problem associated with this TV's power supply.

Very very informative...as always ! thank you, you're the boss
Thanks for being a good mentor I've fix four Tv's with your knowledge an guidance🏆👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏽
Big up
Please Big Dog..Do a repair on BN44-00207A..Problem is clicking off several times and then staying on for hours but seems like if it gets warm enough..off it goed..comes back on and starts all over again..However I did find cracked solder joints in the heat sinks..worked fine until I went to HDMI for my fire stick or antenna inputs..foun a bad board and fixed that..but the problem came back..I fixed the video problem but start and then stop issue is giving me a problem..need some help for sure..I'm pulling my alread grey hairs out my head!!! Thanks man...
See if the standby voltage is fluctuating. IF so, check the Caps on secondary, and the smaller electrolytics on the primary side of the power supply.
thanks
No problem
Were the old capacitors bad in the 1st place?
Cold solder
Great video! Nice component level troubleshooting.
This is some of the best content thanks for teaching us
My pleasure John.
Just goes to show - bad caps don't aways look bad. Nice fix.
my samsung ua50tu8000w sometimes works perfectly but most times would'n power on, just cycles on and off , no clicks.. when i remove ribbon jumper from main board to long narrow pcb on bottom there's a brief sound everytime i press remote but with ribbon connected no sound. Any suggestions please besides buy another TV.
I have a Samsung tv that it has sound and the backlights turn on but their is no picture I put a new main board and power supply too.the tv doesn’t have a teacon board what do you think it is?
Excellent and very thorough explanation.
hey im working on a TV Power Supply for a Toshiba Model: 40S51U, where do you get the TV Schematics from? i cant seem to find it online.
Very knowledgeable video. Marc.
I have a similar situation with my TV. Can I ask you some questions over e-mail?

Great video, but what's an Isolation Transformer? Do you have any experience with RCA 52" LED52B45RQ? Problem I'm having is Red Standby Light but won't turn on, now on 6/20/2020 now it doesn't turn on at all.
An Isolation TRans. isolates the Main's (House plug) from the Device thats plugged into it. That RCA sounds like a common mainboard issue.
@@bigdog8882 Thank you, do you think it's worth fixing?
BigDog, what meter are you using in this video?
CEM DT-9989
There is another part on the Main Board that is (with the capacitors) that is associated with the problem. Depending on the model mine was an LN-T4665F at IC1301.
There is an IC that Samsung calls a Lake chip. It contains the Eeprom. I used a heat gun on the chip for 1 minute and fixed my TV. I am an Electronics Tech of 22 years.
Thoroughly enjoyed your informative video. Many thanks.👏👍👏👍👏🏴
Hey I am doing my first back light fix and i want to know when i remove the screen with suction cups and set it down. Do i remove the suction cups from the screen tell i put it back on or can i just leave them on ? please let me know cause i dont want to fuck this up lol . Thanks and keep up the great work
Just informative, man I learn everytime I watched your video, keep up the great work.
Excellent in depth video! Learned a lot & the capacitor issue is similar to an old vcr/dvd combo made by Panasonic.
Did they change the wrong capacitors?
Great job big dog always look forward to your videos
At least it wasn't an LED bulb this time!
hi there nice to see you with another video
Excellent well done good fix Marc
This was awesome. Thank you
Once again Big Dog outstanding work class dismissed keep up the good work Big Dog.
Appreciate U, my Brotha. Thanks.
Changing the board would suffice but what caused it??
Did you watch the whole Video?
The Capacitors on the HOT side for VCC (47µF) and startup voltage (1µF) of the control chip (IC+MOSFET) went bad over time.
Bad quality, maybe only rated for 85°C --> shorter Lifetime.
@@hectorpascale1013 mass production & happens to bose wave radios. True, capacitors are cheap.
Your videos are great. I’m trying to work on all electronics and I have one tv with a bad display panel do you know where I can get one
You cant. Sorry.
@@bigdog8882 thank you anyway. Keep getting those videos out I’m gonna need them
Why didn't they simply change the board in the 1st place?
