  • Hello guys! Before DPF or FAP delete, take a good look at what's going on, particle filters ALWAYS clog as a result of other faults.
    This video shows a very common cause in modern cars, something as simple as a thermostat, which, due to constant drops in temperature, prevents and interrupts regeneration in progress or about to happen. Excellent antifreeze is mandatory to prevent leaks and to extend the life of the thermostat and thus the particle filter.

    Does a faulty thermostat give trouble shutting codes?

  • @DashCamSerbia

    14:39 Ah, I hate those clips. Those are the ones that I have on a coolant hose that I wanted to undone and just slide the hose up a bit more. But since it is a single use one, and the tabs are not even facing me, I gave up on that.
    What tyoe of clamps do you use instead of them?
    Why do some manufacturers use termostats integrated into the casing, and not separate?

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  3 місяці тому +1

      Hello. These clamps are very usual on Italian cars. The reason why I cannot tell, maybe it's cheap and the tooling for assembly is there for a long time now.
      For the thermostat, more and more manufacturers are doing this. I believe it's for people do not mess with them.

      @@alfaromeonoproblem Thanks. Ah yes, I know on some BMW engines that operate at 105 oC or something (to increase fuel efficiency), people replace the termostats for the ones that open at 90 oC, to prolong the life of the engine.

    I own a red spider like that one with the 2.4 jtdm. After 99k km the thermostat is starting to giving up. Especially this winter the temperature if i drive slow was about 80ºC while now it stays neat 90. I will probably change it next time i will do the maintenance.
    One question, when regenerating is it good to run on a lower gear so i can have higher revs like 2500 or 3000rpm to have a better regen?

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  3 місяці тому

      Hello. Thanks for watching. Hi gear with engine at peak torque is better. Hotter exhaust with slow passing gas, more time to regen.

      Hello. Do not use additives, long therm they will clog up the dpf like cerina on PSA.
      Do a 100 mile run on the weekends for example
