This is the most insightful, non-biased review and commentary I've seen on the Salvo anywhere. I'm researching the Salvo to put on a KSG, neither of which I own yet, so hearing your thoughts and seeing the patterns (even from the long guns,) are really helpful. Thank you -- I've subbed & look forward to your other videos!
I am so glad this had a positive impact on your research. I worked very hard to remain unbiased and I'm glad that paid off. I plan to be equally unbiased in all of my videos. Thank you as well for the kind words, they are very encouraging.
Thank you so much. It did take a while but wasn't too bad. What helped, though it added desk time, was planning everything out to make each range trip as efficient as possible. It took about 3-4 trips. What I am kicking myself for is that I forgot to adjust the exposure on the camera, so my footage is not visually what I wanted.
@@thecontemporarygentleman I went with the ks7 to minimize dimensions with the Salvo. If you choose to make a sequel, the m&p12 may be a better option as it uses remchokes from the factory, so an impact driver isn’t needed.
I just got mine yesterday and im happy with it on my 1301 tactical supers and subs. It will be shortened and eventually will be hunted with. Great excuse for the bogo with the Omega 300 and the stamp only took 2.5 months
Mossberg 590 series barrels are very thick to the point you can have a smith externally thread it to utilize the KSG adapter. Had it done to a 590M 590M Shockwave and a regular Shockwave. Also got the choke adapter for my 930. Makes shooting much more enjoyable
Great review. I got the Salvo in 2017. It was a can that I just had to have. Originally, I wanted it for my Saiga 12 SBS. But it would only work with supersonic slugs and buckshot. It now lives on a Keltec KSG in full 12 inch. I love it so much on the KSG. I run subsonic slugs and 00 Buck, and it’s awesome. I also like how the Winchester AA 980 fps birdshot runs through it. I will have to agree with you in the sense that full power loads are not impressive. Subsonic, great. Supersonic, meh…. I am thinking of getting a Rex can or JK can for my Saiga. I still want to run it suppresses, so there is still hope.
Thank you! I'm glad your experience is similar to mine. And yeah, I had a KSG once. I wouldn't say I regret selling it, but I almost do. The Salvo would be great on that, especially with subs of anything.
I'm just sure where you're getting/seeing that. I checked vigorously when I got it and all I saw was to not run any 3.5" ammo through it. Having used many different types of ammo, I have had zero problems.
Yeah I wouldn't say it's quiet. My brother has a salvo that mostly lives on his SRM 1216 and it's pretty sweet and every now and then brings it hunting but since everyone else is shooting unsuppressed it's pretty negligible. I bought one for the BOGO for hunting and the 1301 tactical.
@@thecontemporarygentleman don’t you just hate when people make uneducated comments and don’t respond? You clearly were just giving your view of how it performs. Anyone can see the tech info and breakdown of it on social website.
Look up info about it. He’s not selling it or trying to sell it. He’s giving a buys take on it. We all can look up internals and tech info on it. This video is what buyers want, not more companies trying to sell it to you.

Good review. Thanks for putting the effort to make this video, it must’ve taken a while to do all the trials.

Host and ammo are essential ingredients in any suppressor. I look forward to your next installment.
I agree! And thank you!

Damn 2.5 months!? And I think you'll like it since you know what to expect.
Bought mine in early June still waiting 😢

Really good video thanks really enjoy your videos
Thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoy them!
Good vid. Thanks!
I'm glad you liked it!
Silencer co says to only use slugs but I see so many videos using other rounds than slugs. Has anyone ran into an issue

Sounds like most suppressors. Theyre all still loud with supers.
Kind of. While the irritation was with all the simps, I'd still say it's loud. Even with 5.56 I can hear a difference. Not so much with this.

Music during a suppressor review is in poor taste.
Fair point, I hadn't thought of that. Funny enough, I might try no music in my next suppressor review as it adds complications for several reasons.
@@thecontemporarygentleman can't wait!
BOOOORING!!!!! Lots of blah blah, but not much at all in regards to info about the suppressor.
What is it you want to know?
I'm still waiting to answer any questions...
