Your drain removal hack was genius even though it didn't work. She should definitely get her money back. It was good to see your sense of humor come out
Thanks! I was so disappointed I couldn’t get it out. When the plumber came and just dismantled everything I was like… uh I could’ve done that! I hired you to fix the problem not just replace all the plumbing and charge me for it. 🙄
WOW just $1000, and you made it look like a Million dollar room. And don't forget about the labor of Love and creative repurpose of materials. Topped off by that magnificent painting. Very creative project. DIY Princess
Aww. I teared up when she cried. The feeling of something made by someone by hand, mind, heart, thought, and love is beyond measurable. I wish her all the best on her sell and new journey.❤
I felt empowered to tackle my own bathroom renovation project. The before-and-after shots were impressive, showing what a big difference a little DIY effort can make.
It's beautiful! We bought a house with a scrummy shower that looked so gross. After cleaning and sanding down really, really well, we used Rust-Oleum Topside paint for fiberglass boats. The shower looks brand new, and has held up with regular use for 2 years now with no chips, flaking etc. You have to do the prep so the paint goes on and stays on, but it's so worth it.
We did buy a painted refinish kit, but it was $100 for enough product and when the plumber bill came in we decided to return it to help with budget. The bisque colored surround looks great after all of Savanna's effort, but your idea was definitely considered!
Your so big hearted ❤, and the cost was so worth it! the skills she learned are so invaluable. The money that will be made selling the house will increase and and help it sell faster. And I want to disregard all that I’ve said so far a bit and point out what I see that the is most valuable; The memories you and her made together in her time of need 💕, those will be more valuable than the knowledge, the money or anything else 💓🩷💖 good job helping a fellow human being.
After watching this video, I felt inspired to revamp my bathroom! The ideas on retiling the shower and installing a new vanity were genius, and I appreciated the budget-friendly approach. I'm excited to get started on my own DIY project and transform my bathroom like they did in the video!
The transformation of the bathroom was impressive and I appreciated how you showed practical tips and tricks for saving money while still achieving a stylish look.
Totally worth it😊and how blessed she is to have you! I love the black ceiling & accents, she will definitely get every penny back at sale time! Nice work!
Great transition ladies. It was obvious that the bathroom had to be painted a much lighter colour. The changing of the faucets and hardware and toilet and floor and mirror and ceiling really transformed this bathroom into a show piece. I am sure the new owners will appreciate your efforts. I hope you get what you want and more for the sale of your house.
I have been struggling to clean the tub and surround in my master bath and had the same issues with nothing working. I had resigned myself to saving so I could replace it but I never thought of sanding and resealing. I'm going to give that a try. Thank you for the inspiration!
Okay this was amazing and definitely gives me hope that I will be able to do something similar in my space on a budget. LOVE those drop ceiling tiles 😍😍😍
Omg I love it! You did amazing! Indeed modern. Do you want to do my basement bathroom? Kidding. Honestly, I reno my house, and what you did was incredibly cheap and innovative. Kudos 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I've tried that but not really sure how that saves any time because you still need two coats to reach opacity with the white. So primer coat + two coats of white or three coats of white paint, seems the same to me.
Depending on how the rest of the home looks She will definitely make her money back I think. The housing market is still insane which is a benefit to the sellers. We just sold our first home to buy our dream home & we made almost 100K on our “first home”. Such a huge difference in this bathroom it looks amazing!!! Also I noticed you put a new faucet in that is the “Wide spread” style into the 3 holes that are close together. Does that mean those 3 holes do not have to be used just with “Centerset faucets” I’m asking bet currently doing my toddlers bathroom & thought I could only use the Centerset faucets. Thank youuu!
Wonderful job! Everything you chose ties in with the existing wood really well. I love the painting you did too. I’m certain she’ll recoup the investment!😊 Edit: I took a screenshot of the bottle of Gel Gloss she used on the shower. I remodeled my bathroom last year and absolutely love it, but I chose to keep my jacuzzi tub, build a third wall/shelf unit, then tile the surround. It looks awesome and we enjoy it so much, but the tub suffered from my intense scrub down and gets dirty looking quicker now since I apparently scrubbed off the glossy finish. I never even considered looking for a product to recoat it.
Here's a link! www.welcome-to-the-woods.com/s/B3EdF33t It does make the tub slippery, but that's the gloss finish. Just wanted to give you a heads up :)
@@WelcometotheWoodsBlog thank you! And thanks for the tip. I have some very discreet no slip tape strips on the bottom of ours, as our granddaughter likes to dance while she sings in the shower. She’s almost 8 and bath or shower time is one of her favorite things. 🙂
Awesome job and the bathroom looks great! Too bad about the bathtub drain blowing the budget, but that's life (and house renovations) for ya. The struggle to remove that old drain reminds me removing a stuck seatpost or stem from a bike. If there's corrosion involved, then it can be an impossible task with taking drastic measures.
What a wonderful project to tackle with your friend! Warms my heart! I was wondering what type of wax seal you used for her toilet? I appears to be blue?
The magic eraser helped a bit but crumbled quickly with all the buildup we had to get through. It would taken significantly longer than sanding and she sanded for 3 hours.
Because they matched the trimwork, stained oak is more durable than painted, the vanity was only two years old and in perfect shape, and most importantly, Savanna liked it.
Ugh, drop ceiling tiles - gives me the vibes of a 90s/early 2000s mediocre office buildings... Obviously, on a budget, so replacing with something better was out of the question.
Yes, and drop ceiling tiles serve a functional purpose of accessing the home’s plumbing. There’s a trend of doing heavy molding on ceilings to make them look a lot like this result. I think these tiles transform the ceiling from being an eye sore to a focal point!
The ceiling tiles with matching black fixtures totally elevate the whole thing.
Thank you!

Great budget remodel! Looks great and well worth it IMO. She'll get that back when it sells. Great job, ladies.
Great job on such a small budget. Looks amazing.

Such a great video. Love the transformation, but I loved the exchange between you and your friend even more. ❤

Hey Lisa!! Thank you ❤️
Love the black fixtures!
Great transformation
Your hubby is so GD lucky... I can't get over it. Jeff!
Looks great!!!
Love the ceiling tiles
When trying to cover dark paint here's a pro tip --- get some primer toned to a medium grey (think maybe 30% black in white).
I've tried that but not really sure how that saves any time because you still need two coats to reach opacity with the white. So primer coat + two coats of white or three coats of white paint, seems the same to me.

Well done you are so talented
Great job, Melissa.
Love the ceiling tiles. The makeover is awesome.
Came to say this!!! So exciting; I’ve always wanted to do such tiles for ceiling and thought they’d be cost-prohibitive. Thank YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!!
You're welcome! Here's a link to the tiles we used: www.welcome-to-the-woods.com/s/bEUsySoF

The drop ceiling are elegant. Where did you purchase them 😍
Its beautiful. Thanks for sharing
What a wonderful project to tackle with your friend! Warms my heart! I was wondering what type of wax seal you used for her toilet? I appears to be blue?
It’s the kind that compresses silicone, wax free! Here’s a link: amzn.to/3uQoAvD
@@WelcometotheWoodsBlog Thanks! 🍻I love neat!
Beautiful!!😍
Coolest DIYer ever 🎉❤
You are a good friend.
Where did you get the flooring please?
I wonder if Magic Eraser would work instead of the sandpaper to get the mildew off. It's still an abrasive, but even finer
The magic eraser helped a bit but crumbled quickly with all the buildup we had to get through. It would taken significantly longer than sanding and she sanded for 3 hours.
Great job!
Beautiful
Sorry to hear about her divorce. Ur a good friend and did an amazing job.
That’s awesome.
Nice!. good job.
Very nice!!
Amazing i love it
Use a drill brush on the tub next time. It's a lifesaver.
We didn’t have one of those handy but that’s a brilliant idea!
You remind me of that actress from house of cards. She is so beautiful. I’m in love.
i also like to install flooring barefooted. you get a better feel for it.
that will definitely pull more $$ than it's previous decor.
Y you didn’t flip the cabinets?
Because they matched the trimwork, stained oak is more durable than painted, the vanity was only two years old and in perfect shape, and most importantly, Savanna liked it.
It is beautiful she will get her money out
Why did you bleep out "shower"?
Haha I bleeped out the word shit
Lol
Great job, but the vanity could have easily been drastically made over by just painting it white and adding modern nickel hardware.
❤❤❤❤
Kitchens and bathrooms sell houses.
I painted this for you so you can look at it every time you take a 💩 Lol 😂
❤
Nice job! But…please don’t use Comet with your bare hands! 1:40
Soooo Savannah is newly divorced? 👀
