Are you surprised how much money I spent on my DIY bathroom remodel?! Thanks to our sponsor Factor Meals, use code W2TW50 to get 50% off your first Factor box at bit.ly/3Ny9hxd
I'm going to try the Factor... when I get home from a 2 week business trip. Already went to the website, looks yummy. I might do the keto, as I need to slim down a bit. lol.
So where are the links to the materials you said was list below am I missing them?
Melissa, I think your bathroom remodel was an excellent decision and turned out amazing. Your costs excluding plumbing and electrical were definitely budget friendly. Best part for me would be knowing that the old, not-to-code issues were fixed, and that the renovation 👏🏻modernized and integrated the bathroom to fit in with the rest of the house!
"EVERYTHING I DO IS BUDGET"... Melissa you have a lot of company.
I am just blown away and in awe of your many accomplishments! You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for giving us an insight into the cost of the bathroom reno, it's very much appreciated.
As a mum of 3 myself, I have to say that you look amazing for a mum of 4!
Outstanding job at an awesome price. Our mouths fell open when you said you spent a whole $40 on the sink/faucet/vanity. SCORE!!
Very good price. I just got a quote for about the same outcome as your bathroom, about same size for $23,000. I'm going the DYI route after seeing that number and get a better look as they only had certain materials to pick from that weren't my favorite.
I appreciate you sharing the breakdown costs. I'm planning on redoing my bath this fall and it's helpful to get an idea of pricing. I need to take out the tub and put in a walk in shower. Your bath looks really good! All the labor you saved by doing it yourself really helped, I'll be paying for labor. Win win, nicely done!
This is a gorgeous remodel! I like how you went through all of the costs!
Absolutely AWESOME. You did an excellent job. Thanks for the sharing both for the DIY and the food tips.
This is so inspiring and hopeful for someone who is yet to own a home. Thank you !
Incredibly helpful, thank you. I have a small bathroom im going to remodel. It doesn't need plumbing, so I'll save money there. However, I need to replace the tub and vanity top. Everything else seems about the same. Floor, wall tile, fixtures, etc. This helped me realize it's not as expensive as I thought.
I think it's worth it because you learned new skills and it came out beautiful. In terms of worth in dollars, bathrooms and kitchens are where the resale value is.
I just did a bathroom remodel myself and think I spent about what you did. Plumbing is always the most expensive thing and I won't tackle it myself either. Mostly because I don't have the upper body strength to do a lot of it (believe me, I've tried). Plumbing requires a lot of brute force. I think you did an amazing job. If you ever decide to work with tile again, I'd suggest getting a good tile snapper and a better tile saw (Kobalt makes a 7" one that's pretty fantastic and reasonably priced). It'll make the job so much easier and faster. When I first saw you using the green board, I was worried until I saw you slather it in RedGard. I think it'll work just fine. Kudos on such a nice remodel.
Price and final results are excellent. I agree fully, I hire out plumbing and electric to professionals, especially the plumbing. You did a great job.
I just wanted to say your videos are soooo inspiring! We just bought our first house & to save money, I am going to diy most of the remodel 😊
You did an outstanding job with a great budget! Thank you for all the time and tips you put into making these videos!!
This is so inspiring! Definitely going to try mine now!
Great job looks amazing enjoyed watching
I think the price and the final result are both great. Wish I were as handy as you, so I could tackle this house!
I think you did an amazing job with a shoestring budget. Your approach was sensible and obviously successful. I learned a lot hats off to you ❤!
This was great! Good job and thanks for the break down.
I was amazed by the result! The total cost breakdown was super helpful.
Excellent remodel thank you for the breakdown in costs
Wow! Thats definitely budget friendly. Definitely inspirational.. well done👏
You never disappoint
Thanks
I don’t see a problem hiring out plumbing and electrical if you have the money and you’re uncomfortable doing it yourself. The important thing is it’s done right. lol As always love your design style and choices. You really have an eye for it. Also! Are the Factor meals high in sodium? That’s always my concern.
Not across the board, and I think you can select that filter actually when searching for factor meals to order! :)
Really enjoyed the breakdown of the cost!
Great job, looks amazing and you can't argue with the price.
I think the price was well worth it. The job turned out really well. Thanks for sharing.
Great job. You are brave.
For only having to spend $5000, you did a fantastic job! I've worked on a crew where they did a similar look but for almost double the price of what you probably would have had to spend if you had to outright buy everything. Keep doing what you do!
She already had a lot of the expensive items that she didn't include the prices of what she originally paid. Plus cheap labor from a friend and a neighbor. She definitely spent more than $5,000 on this. I do like the tile choice it was really pretty.
@@fashionforwardmom I know.
You are an amazing person, don’t know you balance everything, I’m jealous
You are amazing.... What a beautiful jpb !
Great job kid. Looks amazing. I think the price is good too.😎
I would say you did well, in function, beauty, and price!
Beautiful!!
Awesome job indeed 😎🐕🦺🐈⬛
I don’t consider that “budget”. You delivered a higher end result. I love the tile choices. So with labor and a new vanity, that’d be double contracted out. Demo itself is costly. Thank you then for the break down. Helps a ton.
Rad! I just got an estimate on a small bathroom remodel of my Dad's house... It was $17,999. Personally, $17,999 sounds like fraud and price gauging to me. Four to five thousand is much better!
Dang, I guess I will have to DIY my own bathroom too.
@ashton8878 Right a good bathroom is literally probably $2,000 to $3,000 of supplies... and would take someone a day or two to renovate. How do these companies get to e.g. $17,999?! It's RIDICULOUS!!! I feel like an honest contractor would charge three or four thousand dollars to install everything you buy (the $2k to $3k of goods). It's unbelievable to me what's going on. Lol!
Such a wonderful re-model, love the tiles. It was really cool to see you do the window.
(I must say though, the sponsor part was a bit awkward and irrelevant to the video but I understand you need to bring in money to bring us the videos)
You always use green board in bathrooms anywhere there is moisture and it’s only like two or three dollars more so you did it right
I paid a plumber $410 once….that was the last time I paid a plumber. Just get the butain torch and practice!!! You can do it!
I would appreciate knowing the measurement and height of your bead board. Is it a personal preference or more of a standard size? I really like yours
You are truly unbelievable!
Do you have a home workshop where you produce your trim carpentry? Just a place for a table saw and miter saw would make these renovations go quicker and easier.
No, I don’t. I’ve looked into building one but cannot add more impervious surface to my property so in the garage will have to do!
Great job for 5,000,would have been double for contractor to do it👍
I think it turned out beautiful. It's your house so if you think it was worth it what we think shouldn't matter.
Who keeps working with a broken thumb 👍🏾? Melissa!
How’s your kids health? How are you?
Some of the things you do on your channel, I’m saving; down the road, I’ll be doing some of my own work on a small “Barndo” (aka Shouse shop+house).
Thank you so much.
I’m doing well! My kids are enjoying summer. I’m definitely apprehensive for the start of the new school year but hopefully this year will be fine!
Do you have a place with all the links to what you bought?

Just OUTSTANDING : o .... U need to give yourself a raise - a big pay raise : ) ....
I'm so curious. Once all of the remodeling is done, are you planning on selling this house or renting it out?
My husband’s grandparents live in it, the half that isn’t being renovated. It’s actually a large house set up like a duplex. I wouldn’t want to rent out the half I’ve renovated and force gma and gpa to have neighbors they don’t know. It will likely become extra space for them to host guests when I’m all done.
👍🏻
Next time do the plumbing yourself, you are already able to do so much challenging things. Plumbing is a piece of cake compared to some of the things you do. The price is perfect. Especially if a contractor would have done this, it would have been three to four times more expensive.
I think you did an amazing job, both in your craftsmanship and explaining.
How has HGTV not giving you your own show yet? I mean I guess you don’t need it, but still.
😊👍🏼
And here I thought electricians and attorneys were expensive!

Ты такая лапочка 🥰🫠
Less than 5k is a great price. If someone had done all the work you, it wouldn’t have been $5000. Plus you probably added at least double maybe triple the $5000 in value to the home. Great job again!
All that talking and you didn't show the end result...
Please see this video for the end result, this was just the cost breakdown :) DIY Small Bathroom Remodel

Why doesn't your husband help out more, and save money??
My husband does help out a lot, he stays home with our kids so I can do this :)
