Just a sewing tip: Don't sew over the pins as it can break the needle. Just take it out right before. Also beautiful job with this space! Your home is probably the most gorgeous space I've ever seen!
I was thinking the same. If you sew over the metal your machine needles will become blunt too soon. Worse than that, the needle might snap off resulting with the rare but possible event of finding the metal lodged in an eye.
Don’t get into the bad habit of sewing over pins. It’s bad for the machine and bad for the needle. It can dull or deform the needle causing visual pulls in the fabric as you sew. Thankfully, I’ve never had a needle break and land in an eye because a broken needle eye (and its point) holds onto the thread.

Hey Drew, I LOOOOVE the outcome, it feels like the urban cottagecore bathroom of my dreams :D Just friendly advice though, if the plant you placed in your shower is a real living plant, I highly recommend swapping it out for something else, seeing as Hoyas (which is what this plant appears to be), like to be DRY AF, so being in a high humidity space might be its downfall ^^' You would be better served with a sturdy Pothos plant, like a Marble or Snow Queen, or a Pearls and Jade or N'Joy, if you're looking for something more unique! Not sure if you have answered this before but does your landlord expect specific elements to be brought back to Otis original condition for when you move out? Like does any of the board and batten need to go?
It’s always a good idea to ask your landlord if they allow you to do any permanent changes like adding board and batten. Every landlord is different so you might have a very chill one that will agree and you wont have to remove it but you also have some that arent very permissive. So just ask! 😌

I could see him maybe painting everything white and remove wallpaper and stick n tile but to remove board and Batten seems like a big ask, IMO.
@@Quaquelly oh yeah. For sure. Especially with it being glued to the wall, the damage to the drywall would be ridiculous. I’m assuming he must have one of those dream landlords that’s trusts his abilities and sees how it actually brings more value to the space.

Eeekkkk please don’t sew over your pins! I know this from personal experience 😰 Just pause, remove the pin & continue sewing 👍
Great job! The Roman Shades are just perfect, elegant & functional! Nice! I feel the board & baton installation combined with the dark green paint & the cool mirrors really do transform the space! Eeekkkk please don’t sew over your pins! Though most of the time you will be fine, there will eventually be that one where you will hit one perfectly & shatter your sewing machine needle & possible break other bits of your machine. I know this from personal experience 😰
Just pause, remove the pin & continue sewing 👍
Great job! The Roman Shades are just perfect, elegant & functional! Nice! I feel the board & baton installation combined with the dark green paint & the cool mirrors really do transform the space! I would love to see you put real plants in your bathroom! Plants really like the humidity of a bathroom and you have soo much beautiful light along with easy access to water for weekly watering. Try a Sansevieria, aka snake plant, and a little fern. You won’t have to work hard and your plants will thrive! Nonetheless, I think you killed it on this project! Glad your Landlord lets you do these cool design updates in your apartment! Enjoy your well deserved bath!
That green is STUNNING
Dont you feel sad when you move out after all the hard work you did renovating and the money that you spent in all the makeovers? Im moving out of my house soon and that got me thinking if its really worth it...
It’s worth it if it makes you feel good in the moment. Also, for him, it is also content… so win win. :)
I know you were asking him but I was thinking about this in my own situation. I came to this conclusion: if we don't create the joy we want to experience now and continue to wait for the right time, our life will pass us by. If you experienced joy, I would say it was worth it.
@@balancekeeper9458 you're right! Thanks for the answer

For people on a budget with Benjamin Moore, some paint stores have a clearance section, sometimes free paint as well 💗. It’s saved me tons of money
