I use the invective MH and play shows with it. Have to crank it to max volume but ive had no issues with it not being enough. I play in a deathcore band and it works just fine for me.
@@kenjicarlos8402 There's more to it than just how big the amp is. In most cases, this is what's happening with bass and tube amps. There are 2 ways to make a tube amp distort/overdrive. Most of the distortion is made in the preamp, and is done with gain. You turn the gain up until the input tubes can't continue to play clean, and the overdriven tubes distorts the signal itself. You can also get your power tubes to distort, but it doesn't work the same way. Gain controls can only be placed on the input of a component. Volume controls are placed on the output. Only gain can distort the signal, a volume control can't. All a volume is, is a variable resistor. Its a passive device, and can't change the signal in any way, unlike gain. The problem is, you can't use excessive gain to distort your power tubes, all you can do is attenuate them with with volume. Since you can't distort the signal directly with gain, like in the preamp, you get the power tubes to distort by pushing them to failure. Its just like in your home or car stereo. If you set the volume too high, you get to a point where the system can't play any louder, and the sound starts to brake up. The main concept is you distort the signal itself in the preamp. The signal then goes through your power amp unaltered. If you want power tube distortion, you turn the volume up until the tubes fail. When you push a tube amp too hard, the tubes don't have enough power to play clean. The lower the frequency, the harder the power amp has to work to play it. And that's where your bass goes. You're pushing the power tubes too hard. The most common way to deal with poor bass quality as a result of power tube distortion, is to put some type of overdrive pedal before the input on your preamp, like a tube screamer. It helps to tighten up the bass so it sounds normal.
