I bought the PRS MT 15 and i am extrmely happy with it. The noise problems were only with the early 2018 models i think, mine from 2021 is perfectly silent. It is not as versatile but if all you need is a good clean and a high gain channel, its hard to beat, it's amazing with my big pedalboard.
This is the best channel for amp info! I've been hooked on the MT15, but now I wanna try the Fireball 25. Need a mini head that can keep up with a loud drummer.

I dont regret getting a 6505mh some time back ago though. I hope there will be a continuation with rock, vintage and whatelse amps as well! Very nice! I think maybe an H&K Tubemeister 20 on the list. The 40 watts is almost not an lunchbox anymore according to the wattage. I think the engl fireball 25 is very nice. Best bang for buck and you can do every gig with it. On large stages you can always use in-ear. The PRS MT15 is really really loud. With an 2xw12 you can play with an loud drummer
Great list!! I have a PRS MT-15 myself. I know the Orange Micro Dark isn’t really in this league, but for the price, size and sound I think that little head is incredible

I'm really digging those little Invective MH amps, the seem to sound great and are fairly cost friendly compared to some of the other options in this class.
I’d straight up agree with you except for the HK perhaps, always struggled to get the fizz out of my HKs. I’d probably put the Invective at the top but having owned an Ironball I’ll extend some grace :) now I’m really curious about a Fireball ha ha.
I’ve owned both the engl iron ball and the MT15. The iron ball is very tight and has loads of gain for modern metal. The MT15 was a little flubby until I put the tube screamer mini in front. I actually ended up loving the tone out of the MT15. Guess it helps being played through the Mesa 2x12.
I just started watching your amp reviews I have listened to all of these except the ENGL. I do like the Orange stuff but I don’t love it. I love Mesa’s sound. Love the EVH stuff. But I think I’m completely in love with those Peavey Invectives and I never thought I would pick Peavy over all the amps out there but those are kick ass amps.
I would love to see you get the Revv G20 on the channel! Such a great amp with lots of awesome features along with a tight, articulate, and clear sound without the need of an overdrive.
Totally agree with Jon review's here, especially what he says about eh MT15 noise! I had TWO bloody replacements for my MT15 and ended up getting a refund because even though the amp lead channel was great, right after plugging a noise gate to the effects loop, the amp started making really bad hissing and hum noises! Sounded like an air frying and that persisted even after I removed everything from the noise loop. It literally broke the amp! I had it checked by the store folks myself! So yeah, if you buy that amp, be careful!! Especially when you plug noise gates to the effects loop!

My Orange OR15 does surprisingly well for metal. And it goes for around $700. The circuit is almost the same as the Jim Root terror. It even handles 8-string metal. 🤘😬

When I turn up the post gain to max or past 8 on dial of peavey invective mh it sounds very bad. Like high pitched weird ice picking bees in tin can sound. I wouldn't use the gain that high but it's a concern to me that it mite be defective. I have the PRS MT-15 that has way more gain and it doesn't break up like that. Running a 2x12 with eminance governors. Anybody else have this issue ? Is this normal ?

Hi, Your videos are good, can you also make a video that focuses on Punk, Pop Rock, Emo sounding? I noticed that almost all of tour videos focuses on Metal when it comes to heavy stuff, it would be cooler if from Clean, a bit gain(punk), Pop punk, Alternative Rock, Emo or Pop Rock, Screamo, Core, you know, so you can cover all of genres, not everyone likes Metal just saying, hope you dont mind just trying to help your channel, you have lots of amplifiers why not cover all of the genres :)

Returned my MT15 dude to the chasis rattling once the volume is past one. I do alot of chugging so it is really noticeable at higher volumes. Maybe it was just my Mt 15 inhad some bad luck with. Anyone else with experience this issue 🤔

Good question! I didnt really want to include 2 amps of the same brand. The IB is excellent but the FB is a little bit more flexible and has a little bit more oomph. Don't get me wrong, the IB is amazing!
I am ready to order an amp and I am between fireball 25 ,mt15 and Invective . Right now I think i like more fireball 25 but i am not sure yet. I play usually down tempo black metal riffs with lots of chords in e standard with lots of delay and reverb so I need good articulation and not definition , which one would you recommend ?
I wouldn’t say the H&K is a lunchbox…big heads are from 50 watts and up…so is pretty close…lunchboxes can get up to 30…would even say 30 watt is perfect for bedroom and 50 watt should be the standard top…we don’t need the whole 100 cuz even in studio nobody gets to use all that volume, not even live cuz amp’s get micked up…considering the environment as well is good to cut the amp's wattage. Imo I’m starting to get less interest in tube amp’s cuz you have to buy extra stuff to work with them…you need a cab, cables, pedals…meanwhile amp’s like the Boss Katana have maybe all effects a guitarist would ever need and if you go the plug-in way there’s tons of free software regarding amp’s and effects…if I had a tube amp tho…PRS MT15 or the new EVH 5150 Stealth Mini…it packs a huge punch and got a clean channel
why couldn't the engl ironball make it into the top 5? at the fireball you mention that the ironball would be a bit tighter. I would be interested in what you think he is not so good at. or what he's good at xD you made wonderful sound examples for the ironball. but your spoken / written opinion would be of interest to me too :)
The Ironball is great! Very tight and focused sounding. I didn't want to include 2 amps of the same brand though and I just love the Fireball a lot. That doesn't mean that the Ironball isn't amazing, because it is!

Blues, jazzblues and so on, as i find it more rewarding playing other things than alot of powerchord. So, i do want it to be a good alround amp... but maybe leaning towards metal.

I wouldn't consider the SLO30 a lunchbox amp. I own one and it feels / sounds more like a 50 watt'er.

I just purchased the ENGL fireball 25 with a vertical 2x12 MESA cab and a PRS DW CE 24 burnt amber. I am having so much fun.

I bought a second hand orange dark terror with less than 200 dolloars in 2020,it's not bad,but I want a Engl fireball 25 or even savage!
One amp not mentioned is the dsl20. The Marshall dsl20h does metal pretty well imo.

@@SuperMadmore can't go wrong with either to be honest. Perhaps look at all the features. Do you want an amp that can do it all with a lot of options? Or a more simple and stripped down design.

I played the fireball 100 and the powerball too. Both sucked hard in my opinion. So I guess the fireball 25 sucks too.
Ironball and peavey6505mh are very good lunchbox amps for metal.
ive never heard someone refer 2 $700 as "cheap" until now lol
It's about as cheap as it gets for a tube amp,I consider that to be cheap as well especially for what you're getting
