I've got the big version of this, the 100 watt, and it's only a few hundred dollars more, and all you need to do is put the the lead gain on four, and the, "chug" is incredible on this thing. The low end is absolutely beautiful, and articulate, the mids are amazing, highs...well...you get the point.
Thank you for letting us hear the amp through real speaker and a room mike. And Not through some DAW IRs. This gives best impression about how the amp really sounds when playing live. Much appreciated.
That's Engl quality as well. It's crazy how you don't need that much power to play in a room. Even 25 W would quite enough to do a small gig. Nice video Olaé

I first thought it's a "large price tag" aswell but i think i paid around 850€ and actually it's one of my best gear purchases ever. I'm glad i bought this instead of wasting more money on "cheaper" amps.
Man I don't know what it is but Engl amps are just so damn perfect sounding to me. They have become my favorite brand surpassing Mesa and Peavey! I agree also, they don't need a boost! Also, I always find myself playing that same machine head riff when I'm testing out amps!
I had a mesa mark 5:35 and the same ENGL in the video. The ENGL is inspiring and less work dialing in tones etc... I sold my MESA last week on reverb. 🤣

I have never tried a fireball but I relay love the Powerball amp on my GE250 and I’m hoping the fireball will be better as that’s what I’m wanting to buy next
I own the Ironball 25, very similar features and very versatile. I really love this amp. I’ve sold all other physical amps, using plugins but kept the ironball because it is just a small kick ass sounding amp!
The intro riffage was stunning! And the tone - that's the perfect metal tone for me, right there, it's got the "Marshall'y" grit with more punch and clarity. I've got some good time with ENGL Screamer, this looks like a nice upgrade in the future.
ENGL Fireball is honestly my favourite amp of all time. No bullshit, all tone. I had a 100 and sold it like a fucking idiot. If you play metal, this amp is for you.
I remember when I saw a clip on UA-cam (ages ago!) where Jeff Loomis played through an ENGL Fireball...and that's why I have one now. Not the best cleans, but the rhythm tone is just awesome!

@@dust17111 No, 60w is absolutely overkill for bedroom volume, I can't even raise the volume past 1 lol. But at the time I bought it there were not a whole lot of low wattage practice amps around. It should be loud enough for bands/gigs, but I've never used it in those situations.
I was thinking about buying this amp just for that. So that I could apply an IR later. You're talking like you already have this amp: would you mind recording some riffing through that line out and share it, so that I could see what I would be able to do with it?

I loved that opening riff! But anyway the blended sound of all the mics always sounds so good. With the individual mics I'm usually a fan of your SM58 but I think this time I like the TLM102 more. That's a sweet sounding amp!
That tone on that chord at 2:38 instantly reminded me of "Dracul Va Domni Din Nou..." from Marduk, just a little less harsh sounding. Never thought of the Fireball for playing black metal...Is there something that head can't do? I guess not!
i recently fell in love with the fireball model in my helix, might pull the trigger on one of these soon, to me it has marshall vibes with more low end and percussive tightness, I think i need to get the real thing

@@gazzaduce3424 Hi Gazza, i tested the MT-15 once in a store. I liked the wonderful clean tone very much. I think the lead tone of the MT-15 is more "traditional" compard to the Fireball 25, which is more "modern", but also realy nice. In the end this is a matter of taste. I love the typical Engl-gain which is powerful, but stays precise. My main reason for buying the Fireball is the powersoak. I can do silent recording and practising with power off at home without disturbing our two small children. I go from the line out into a Torpedo C.A.B. M from Two notes and than into a mixer, headphone, PC... 1 W or 5 W Power is nice for band practice, 25 W is really loud and in most cases enough for stage. The amp is really flexible. If you appreciate the powersoak/silent recording and the specific sound of the amp it's an upgrage from my point of view, if not, you can stay with the MT-15, which is also a great amp.

You should start a side series where every rig of the week you do, you crank the amp up as loud as it can go and see how many DB it is. Wether or it’s a big amp or a small amp. It would basically be a side segmented. I’m sure your subscribers could come up with a good name.

I've had the original fireball for about 7 years now, surprisingly its still one of the best sounding amps at "bedroom-volume" I've ever tried.

The evh 5150 sounds better tone wise I would think and it’s a bit cheaper. But I couldn’t really say unless I hear this in person
