Thanks for this, took my little guy to the vet today after he stopped eating as much and looked like he was trying to cough something up, he did a big poop when we got there and is now on meds for coccidia and pin worm… I’ve only had him for a couple days but I thought he was acting different to how I had seen him the day I paid my deposit and opted for the cautious route and glad I did… still refusing food but took his meds like a champ… now to let the breeder know incase it came from them
A Vet won't be able to give you the exact source of Coccidia but they will tell you the following: -Poor husbandry, not cleaning poo ASAP, not changing out the substrate frequently. -Transmission from another dragon if kept in the same enclosure or introduced during breeding, poor hand hygiene between handling animals. -Poor hygiene from your feeder insect colony. Other sources for bacteria and parasites is from the salads, if not washed properly prior to feeding, this can cause issues (as well as pesticides)
I got 2 new rescues and didn’t know they had so many issues and I definitely cross contaminated, I didn’t even think to wash my hands when switching between bearded dragons, now I’m about to take them all into the vet
Appreciate .. thanks for information . .i have 1 bearded dragon. They have little bit blood in stool .. yesterday .. and now the stool is good without blood .. i have quastion .. is it possible beardie healing himself from coccadia to normal level coccadia ?
Im pretty upset and hoping you’ll see this...-- My beardie has Coccidia :( found out after i jusT got a new baby so. Going to take the other one in. I fed them both in the sink before i knew. I feel absolutely terrible and just.... so stupid. Pray they will both be okay. Do you think my new baby will b okay?! Vet today aaaahhhhhh
Hi July Ann, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that you little ones are ok. Coccidia is easily transmitted from n dragon to another especially if they are sharing food. Getting your little one tested and on antibiotics is the only way to know for sure. The majority of dragons with coccidia make a full recovery. Be prepared that they may have a decreased appetite during and after the treatment.
coccidia is horrible. My juvenile bearded dragon had it last year and unfortunately he didn't make it. Slightest symptoms were showing themselves about 4 days before he passed. And by 'slightest symptoms' I mean closing his eyes when I held him at night
HELLO PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME I TOOK MY DRAGON TO THE VET BEFORE I WALKED IN THE DOOR THEY CHARGED ME 179 THEN ANOTHER 59 FOR NAIL CLIPPING MY DRAGON IS HAVING PROBLEM POOPING SO I GIVE HIM WARM BATH AND THE LAST POOP HAD A VERY HARD THING THAT WHOTE STUFF ISNT COMING OUT LIKE BEFFORE HE NOT EAT8NG ANY GREENS AT ALL OVER A WEEK I LIVE IN VERNON CT AND IM ON SSI SO I DONT HAVE BIG BUCKS I WENT ON LINE TO BUY STUFF T STOP MOUOTH AND TAIL rott and they won't sell it to me on line with out a dr the last dr in easthartford only weighted him and clipped his nails and charged my card 165 before you walk in then 59 for nail clipping I've had him for 7 years my friends family broke up and they gave all the animals away I said I'll take the dragon not knowing anything the guy said put light on in morning and off at night give him a few meal worms he will be fine he really don't move around alot I noticed a black dot on his tail and a bump under his chin his eye shed won't come out and his shed is hard
I I took my bearded dragon to the vet. They charge me $100 just for the vet consultation and then $45 for poop to be analyzed and then $50 for medication come to find out they labeled one of the medication‘s wrong and they want me to pay another $50 each to have their poop analyzed againand meet to pay for more medication how can I treat them myself?
It is up to the individual dragon. The majority will continue to eat while shedding as young dragons are always shedding one part of their body. As they get older shedding may affect their appetite but this isn’t an issue. When was the last time your beardie ate insects?
My bearded dragon’s appetite decrease when shedding. The shedding can last for 2 weeks or more. My bd will typically eat once daily (or sometimes two days without eating). He is 7 mo now and is 464 grams.
@@agentcarranzo after 6 months old I reduce the feeding my beardies get to once a day. It could just be his way of letting you know he is getting fed too much. 464gm is massive for a 7 month old dragon. Be mindful of not over feeding him as obesity will lead to a lot of unwanted health issues.
Mine has parasite eggs I caught it on time they gave him a dose of Meds and 24 hours I gotta do the second dose and wait a week to redo a test so nerve wrecking :/
I'm not rich I'm on disability but I'll pay anyone that knows what there doing to help yesterday I heard if you put them in warm water for 30 min and brush his pencil pores they are so hard please help
This video needs more views. My little girl is currently lethargic and not wanting to eat much. I got her fecal tested and she had what looked like normal cossidia but we treated her anyways just incase. Its been a few days since I've treated her but she's still acting lethargic and not wanting to eat much. I hate seeing her like this. I've babied her with syringe water because she hasn't been eating her greens. Even mashed a bunch of greens up and tried getting those into her too. Not working. So I offered her some live crickets and I think she ate 5. Pin head crickets. They don't get very big unfortunately but they're all I have. Her urate has a Coppery look to it with some white. So I know something Is wrong. I offer her calcium as much as possible and even have been giving her wax worms to help maybe fatten her up some. I pray she gets better.
Hi mate. Thanks for your comment and I hope your little one pulls through soon. The copper look in the urate is potential blood caused by the coccidia. The fact that she is being treated with antibiotics for parasite will explain the lack of appetite still. The medicine is very aggressive and affects each beardie differently. Keep up with the water and discuss with your vet about the amount of calcium you are give her. Liquid calcium would be ideal but not in high doses or frequency. Too much calcium can cause hypervitaminosis.
Well done! it's amazing to make his eyes roll back as he immerses in bliss, it's a mind-blowing experience, now he can’t have enough, I learned the exact moves by go’ogling Jevie Hindlerg’s latest and the screams of bliss just keep getting crazier

@@rangganugraha4266 pinworms are normal in bearded dragons, Coccidia isn’t. Coccidia needs to be treated medically.

where can i buy the medicine?
You will need to consult a veterinarian for the medication. We did this video in case people forget the instructions when they get home. 👍

Looking for a good vet sydney
Where are you located. In western sydney the best choices are north Richmond Vet. Ask for Michelle or Maya. Terri at Canley Vale vet is great too.
We all love
👍
