How to Setup an Adult Snake Enclosure - Cookies Critters - 2021
In todays tutorial, we are demonstrating how to setup a enclosure for an Adult Carpet Python. In particular Morelia Spilota Variegata (Darwin Carpet python or Top End python).
Australian Carpet Pythons are generally semi-arboreal and need more floor space rather than enclosure height. As a general rule, Adult carpet pythons will grow between 6-8 foot long. We recommend that you use a 120x60x60cm (4'x2'x2') enclosure. Enclosures taller than 120cm (4') tall, are hard to heat and typically not suitable.
Ensure that and heat lights are covered with mesh cages so that the snake doesn't get burnt if it coils around the globe. We always recommend that any heat source should be regulated by a thermostat.
Ideal substrates for carpet pythons are as follows:
* Coarse Pine bark,
* Eucalyptus Mulch,
* Recycled paper Kitty Litter,
* Chipsi,
* Aspen bedding,
* Critter Crumble.
All snakes need a hide at least on the hot side and if you have the space, place a hide on the cool side too.
When using natural logs and branches, ensure that you thoroughly wash them to remove any mites, ants, spiders and ticks. This can be achieved by treating with boiling water and when dried, spray with MacMite.
We are reptile breeders in Western Sydney and this channel is to educate our customers and followers. The reptiles that we breed are Central Bearded Dragons, Pygmy Bearded dragons, Knob tail geckos, Northern Velvet Geckos, blue tongue lizards and Carpet Pythons.

Every time you get some out, my brain goes “woop there it is” from that song.
Very helpful information!By the way,do you know if there are any methods to determine the gender of a newborn?
Hey i dont know if anyone will see this as its an old video, but ive seen a lot of things about pine bark being toxic for snakes, however this guy recommends it. Any help?
Aww, he was such a good boy!
Battle Royale time! Human vs giant scary Dogman pack!

Hi I am new and just got my breaded dragon almost 4 days ago I notices he only eats two to three insects and ate greens for the frist time today but he is always on his basking rock and is always sleeping am wondering if this is normal but poops once a day
Why do you have to do this procedure? Dr. Pimple Popper on reptiles. I'm losing it 😩
I have a female beardie, idk if she gets these because I’ve only had her a year and got her from my mom due to my mom moving to a place that doesn’t allow any pets. I’m learning everyday and have made her terrarium tank to my best abilities to match her and be safe. I do research but I’ve only seen males get theirs popped so I don’t know if it’s a male thing or for both males and females.
Your not suppose to pop them
After 7pm, shows humidity light but Fogger doesn't actually start. How does it keep going 0700-1900 but cover after 1900 to 0700 the next day?
3 years late, but I have a question! A little unusual I know, but my blue tongues (2 adults) live together. The tank they have is a little small, but I don’t have room for. A bigger one, and therefore want to utilise the higher space of their tank (I think the tank we have is designed for geckos since it’s give or take a 70x40x40 tank). Would this set up work for two lizards? They love living together and sleep next to each other, so I want to provide them areas to bask/eat/sleep together. I know that blue tongues aren’t really climbers, but would it be worth investing in a platform of some sort so they have the option of climbing if they like? My youngest (9) has cancer of the mouth, so I want to make her last years special as possible. Love the video thanks man
I've got a leopard gecko. About a month ago, it started shedding its skin, but it was very patchy and it wasn't eating. Other than the skin, it looked very nice and healthy, I took it to the vet, who removed all the skin but that either caused skin damage or uncovered dermatitis, so they gave us 3 medications: a silver-based cream for the dermatitis, 4 syringes to inject 1 every 3 days, and a needle-less syringe to feed a drop of to the gecko every 5 days. The vet commented on how healthy the gecko was. Unfortunately, it's continued to molt and not eat, and has shed a lot of its fat on its body and tail. I can't keep going to the vet as I lost my job. I don't know what to do. Any advice is much appreciated!
Like dissolves like. Translation: wax is related to oil and oil may be used to help soften the pore contents.
Not sure how I got here….
What happened to the animals when they're not in captivity they're just out in the wild does it naturally fall out?
I’m just about to bring a baby spotted python home for my son. This video was incredibly helpful, thank you. Have bought a large enclosure but I’m very tempted now to just go with your suggested set up for the first year. Would there be any issue putting the plastic container inside the larger enclosure (without the glass doors) so we can use the heat mat insure the enclosure, or would you recommend against that? New subscriber coming your way. 🙌🏻
I'm not rich I'm on disability but I'll pay anyone that knows what there doing to help yesterday I heard if you put them in warm water for 30 min and brush his pencil pores they are so hard please help

Can I sent the time to ealier in the morning say 530/6 instead of 7am? and also the light goes off at 6pm instead of 7pm even though I am pretty sure its set to go off at 7pm.?
It’s the only dimmerstat that I have that doesn’t go lower than 32 at night. It's stuck there for some reason and I don't know how to change this?
I I took my bearded dragon to the vet. They charge me $100 just for the vet consultation and then $45 for poop to be analyzed and then $50 for medication come to find out they labeled one of the medication‘s wrong and they want me to pay another $50 each to have their poop analyzed againand meet to pay for more medication how can I treat them myself?
Little dudes squirming cus it Hurst. NOT all of them hurts. Was chill during those. But the little Cooper didn't like the harder pinches on his nails
I get so scared every time my corn snake needs to go up a size 😬 It means I probably keep her in the small size a but too long.
Who is doing this for them in the wild...
Thanks
Why is my mouth watering 😢 ?
Why do u have to do this? Is it detrimental for the dragon?
i can't believe you didn't go bioactive man
Why doesn't this need to be done in the wild??
From what I looked up, wild bearded dragons don't get blocked femoral pores because the secretions from their pores naturally fall out while they walk or rub on tree branches. In captivity is where this happens.
I all of the sudden want to go check my beardie for these. I hope I find one.
I naturally trust an Australian's advice on bearded dragons
I got so scared I have 4 baby bearded dragons and they are not eating I did not know they had to settle I have had iguanas in the past and they were fine thank you
Thank you for this video. Really appreciate it. 😁 Watching from Philippines.
It says on the F10 bottle that you're supposed to just spray it on and leave it without rinsing. I'm hesitant to do that because beardies lick everything in their enclosure. And I mix it to super Coccidia strength which is stronger than the strongest ratio on the bottle. Do you normally rinse the F10 off?
Tweezers!
Hello, I'd like to ask a question. I'm keeping a blue tongue skink (blotched) and I originally set the desired day time temperature to 28 degrees, but the basking spot never seems to go above 29. I tried setting it to 32 but it still wouldn't go up. My bluey is burrowing because it is too cold. Why is this the case? Am I using the thermostat incorrectly? The probe is 1/3rd of the way from the basking lamp (warm side).
🐨🦘 🦎im about to trim beardy but will wait till he is in slumber . Keith Australia 🇦🇺
I’ve set the temperature and it hasn’t even hit that yet but my overheat alarm is constantly going. Help!
Hold in the up an down button like shows at the end of the video then change to no..
what if you can't just pull them out? I've heard you can use tweezers but I don't want to hurt my little buddy
Who told you listerine is safe to use for snakes ? I don’t understand how that’s alright if our biomes and makeup are completely different just because it’s a mouth disinfectant doesn’t seem like it would be reptile safe ?
"This is the stuff they'd smear to let females know they're in the area." YOU'RE STEALING HIS MOJO?! 😂
I really want to eat them. I eat my own blackheads and my boogers.
How crazy can these morphs get? Like is it possible to get a Red Leatherback Dunner Trans morph?
I got mine Friday and he acted content while being held and actually pretty sociable with a little personality. He was even chasing the crickets back and forth before I could even place them in his home. Ate like crazy Friday and Saturday and then suddenly stopped completely Sunday through today. Not eating at all. He had loose stool on Sunday. I’ve been giving him space these past couple of days. Does this sound normal??
Stop tallking and do something. I quit.
