I love the Insect Buffet products. They carry it at our local pet shop here in North Carolina. I tried this stuff online called dragon crack (or something like that) and it was COMPLETE GARBAGE. It wouldn't stay on the insects and was a total waste of money. I would never recommend that product to anybody, even thought the "experts" on Facebook seem to think it's good. I prefer gut loading insects to "dusting" any day of the week.
My bearded, Turquoise, was diagnosed with MBD. His tail was twisting, he has a lump on his low back just above his tail, and his upper ribs are a bit extended. I was told this was most likely permanent by his vet. However, I am pleased to say that after doing all you talked about above, Turquoises tail is straightened and normal. The bump and extended upper ribs is still there, sadly. He gets around and moves just fine, he's playful and quirky, and all over an absolute delight. I am so thankful we were able to reverse some of the effects of his MBD
Some of you don't know, but this guy actually has a medical background. I heard that he worked with the company that put the prosthetic tail on the dolphin Winter from the movie Dolphin Tale.
Came across your video and I'm so thankful to have found your channel and access to your knowledge. Thank you so much for your knowledgeable videos to keep our beardies thriving
Hi, thank you for the info. I rescued a beardie 5+ years ago and I was thrilled to have him. I worked hard everyday to get him to eat and like fruits and veggies. But the past few weeks he’s not been eating. I thought it was him going into shedding mode.. which was fine so I gave him a bath left him to it.But it’s been too long and I noticed that he’s losing body muscle 😖 with work and life I got comfy just leaving his food in the tank and doing baths 1-2 times a week. But now He’s just not eating. I thought I had dealt with the MBD but it seems like it’s coming back now 🥺 I feel like a bad beardy parent. But I’ll relearn everything and keep on researching on how to get him better. This video helps a lot, thank you.
I put down a bed of calcium powder and put the superworms on top. Rosa is not very accurate in her eating strikes so she picks up the calcium when she eats her worms.
I rescued a beardy with advanced MBD about 6 months ago. He couldn’t even hold himself up at the time. Now he can walk, swim and move around though he still has some warped bones and issues. I do the same thing as you did with Sprocket! I carry him around everywhere and when people ask to pet him or see him, I let them bc he has such a good temperament and loves the attention. Dragons are wonderful, intelligent, very cuddly creatures, but it’s important to care for them with knowledge, otherwise they develop this very painful disease.
My son birthday dragon. Has this the pet store never told us. The little baby also had information going on. After 3 weeks of watching the little one i called the store took the little one back in for help. The manager was to keep us updated on what was going on. She was up to no good told vet not to tell us any thing. Do not buy from pet smart
What if your bearded dragon doesn't eat anything but bugs he will not eat any fruits or vegetables he'll lick a banana and I've given him spinach and parsley radish greens he does not like kiwi I just don't know how to get him to eat any greens
Hello my beardie is about 2-3 months old and I’ve noticed about a month ago that he walks funny he doesn’t really stand up on any of his legs and they get stuck under him when he walks is this mbd? That’s about all the symptoms I’ve noticed I’ve gotten him proper linear 10.0 uvb and he has his uva too as well as calcium with d3 will he ever be able to walk correctly again? How do I cure him
I have a 1 yr old bearded dragon that doesn't want to eat the dubias, mealworms or superworms anymore. Only likes crickets. I do gut load the crickets, but worried she is not getting enough protein. She loves grub pie and horned worms. Any suggestions?
I noticed my bearded dragon legs, twitching, and arms twitching. I gave him some powder the stuff you were supposed to give them will he be ok? Btw: i've been always given him the powder, but I forgot to do it a couple times.
I’ve gotten him proper linear 10.0 uvb and he has his uva too as well as calcium with d3 will he ever be able to walk correctly again? How do I cure him
i have a baby beardie, around 2-3 weeks old and one of his toes is slightly twitching, same for one of his claws. does he have MBD, or am i just overreacting?
A leopard gecko was surrendered to me 3 days ago ( its approximately 6 month male ) he drags his belly an his legs look kinda funny so Doing more research , I find he may have slight case of mbd , I’ve been giving carnivore care because he hasn’t wanted to eat . But he’s getting better u can tell . Came to this vid for recommendations for vitamins . Imma get repti care an repashy I have a light but gunna see if I can upgrade it
I’ve gotten a bearded dragon a few months ago, and a few days ago they had some muscle spasms so I’m freaking out a little. How often should I give him calcium? Every meal? Or every other day. And if I give him calcium with d3 should I do it every day too, or like only a few times a week.
Very informative. I am a new owner of a baby bearded, and I have found your videos to be the most help in my research. Pretty sure you already have a video on it or something and I just have not found it yet, but I do have 1 question. My beardie as of late has started refusing to eat any protein at all, I have tried every insect possible, I am concerned because I know he needs his protein, he is only 3 months old, how can I get him to eat his protein? I have tried hand feeding and no luck so far. It has been over a week now, and I am running out of ideas of what I can do.
I just rescued a 3 year old male bearded dragon who came from a lady that told me that she never gave him any kind of vitamins and fed him frozen mixed vegetables. He didn’t have a uvb light at all. I suspect that he has mbd. His nails are so overgrown that his toes are curled under and sideways. I took him outside with me and we took a ride to the river to get a lot of natural sunlight. He barely moves. He practically just lays down all the time. He was also in a 30 gallon enclosure in which he could not move around in at all. I don’t have an extra enclosure big enough for him but I put him in a playpen made for babies and toddlers and hung a heat lamp in the corner of it with a couple pavers and a piece of ceramic tile. Is there anything I can do to get him up and moving around? He can use his limbs. I think he’s just used to not moving around so he just doesn’t. His femoral pores are clogged because he had nothing in his enclosure except a large food dish a very small water dish and reptile carpet (I removed right away)that was so gross and stunk up my entire house as soon as I brought the enclosure inside. He’s not eaten much but again he’s been eating frozen vegetables for 3 years. So it might take a bit for him to adjust to his new food.
Please respond to this as soon as possible, I love my beardie so much and his beard is black and has MBD. He is not active along with a lack of noticeable breathing and is in the middle of winter, plz bless my lizard with some advice so he can survive
Yes, if they feel like the weather gets colder, they will hide. This is called brumation. My dragon doesn’t go to sleep during brumation but she will go into her hide. Beardies will occasionally come out of their hides to get water and food. DO NOT STOP FEEDING YOUR BEARDED DRAGON. Instead, feed it 3-5 days a week instead of 7 days a week.
hey! my beardie is around early 3 months and today around 6 am he had a rlly small like seizer type thing mostly in his stomach and then he got like 10 more today but now it’s 7 pm and when he gets them his head is starting to shake. im wondering if it’s mbd or something worst. please help. the closet vet that takes beardies won’t be open till next week and it’s 4 in a half hours away and I don’t know what to do. i wanna make sure he’s going to be okay. should I book an appointment or drive to an vet er that takes them even though it’s hours and hours away? for the past few days he hasn’t really been eating. he has a good uvb. and he has always stuck to his diet and he should have enough calcium, vitamin d, and stuff. what should i do please let me know ok freaakinb out

my beardie is holding up her arm when she walks & it feels limp compared to her other arms when i lift it , she can still move it though. is this mbd , is it possible to get it strong again? or is it more likely broken?
question, could someone help me? my bearded dragon is around 8 months old and has had a bump on his back for a couple months. (hes had calcium and UVB and so on) recently the bump has not been that noticable, if he lays flat its basically gone, but if hes running around its visable. the bump always changes sizes, its big then an hour later its barley even noticable. it doesnt affect him at all, he eats normally, very happy, runs around, and so on. ive done some research and MBD normally seems alot worse (look wise) and makes beardies lethargic, would this be a less severe case of MBD and can it fully go away? or would this be something different?
I haVe a question, my bearded dragon was really nice. Today when I tried to pick him up he tried to bite me. (He also bit the tweezers I fed him with.) He stuck his tongue out and acted like he was trying to eat the tweezers! Can you tell me how to stop him from doing this?
Yes. Feed him. He's hungry. When they stick out their tongue first, they aren't trying to bite. The are trying to taste. He's tasting you and or the tongs to see if he can eat it...
I’ve noticed my bearded dragon randomly collapsing, lifting its tail slightly shaking, what does this mean? Please help. I recently brought him to the vet and was told he is sick but doesn’t think it’s MBD, I started feeding him through a syringe with food the vet gave me but idk what else to do to get him better
I wish I could give you some good news, but I get probably 100 messages every single month of people that have horrible experiences with dragons bought from there. I wish you the best as you are not alone.

Yeah I've heard from others to stay away from Dragon Crack as well. At $9 plus shipping for 1/4 of an ounce, it is a HARD PASS for me as well.

Fruits and veggies don't contain a sufficient amount of calcium. You need to feed him bugs and actual food mix for beardies too.
Thank you for such great information! Glad to hear it is reversible.
Our pleasure, glad to be of help. :)

Awesome video! Got a bearded that seems to be in the early stages of MBD so this was super informative. 👍
Currently on this boat ☹️ any progress?

Yeah it sucks that more people don't do their research BEFORE buying a dragon.

As always, thank you for the information. So far our (The Moore Family) very first beardie is doing oh so wonderful. She is so spoiled though. 😂😂😂

How often should I give my bearded dragon super worms, I give her vegetables everyday with super worms, because she won't eat the vegetables
What's your opinion on the curly uvb
I noticed my girl shacks a bit but besides that shes normal

What kind of wood is safe for a custom made enclosure for bearded dragons? Everytime i look at the bottom of the screen the bearded dragons multiply.

If my Bearded Dragon has MBD should i still continue to turn the light off at night?

Did it come from a big box pet store, or a private breeder?

Natural sunlight is great, but be careful not to let them overheat.
