I took my red monster to a exotic vet who told me not to feed my 2 1/2 month beardie any bugs. The vet said a uvb light wasn’t necessary. She said my bearded dragon will turn brown if I don’t feed it red colored foods. And then she diagnosed my beardie with microscopic worms, without doing any tests. She literal held my beardie, gave a guess of what’s wrong, then gave me false information on how to care for him in general. I wish I had it all recorded because it’s hard to believe this vet told me this nonsense. She claims to have 30 years of experience and when I told her ok so if you recommend no bugs then besides his greens what should I feed him? She literally said one word.. PEAS.. I said, that’s it? peas? She said “ get that sprinkly wet stuff it comes in a jar “… I asked her to recommend me a brand so I could look for it… she couldn’t recommend me a brand. She said “ it’s the size of sprinkles, it’s wet and sticks to the green”. 🤦🏻♀️ she said “ when the dragon gets older, feed it the bigger sprinkles but it’s like dog food and wet “… So I understand what you mean about knowing more than your vet. My vet was a whole fool. And I’m treating my beardie with dewormer and I don’t even know if that’s what he has. A second opinion is going to cost me $200. I went in thinking he had a upper respiratory infection and some dingbat diagnosed him with microscopic worms without a microscope. Guess she’s wonder women with special visions. I’m getting a different vet
I went to the vet for mine friday and found out she has Coccidia parpsite and they give me medicine for it and now i have to make sure her tank is clean asap right after she pop and ect and have to us F10 F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant SC To clean the tank and it works with that problem just want on my order to come tomorrow
I just came across your video and I have a question and a concern my breaded dragon stop eating for about 5 days now. He just laying around and sleeping a lot but when I bring him out of his enclosure he do walk around then find a place to sleep and hide. I was plan on taking him to the vet but I wanted to try something on my own and I only had him for a year. His poop is not running it was normal I guess it was dark/white with liquid….what should I do or what I recommend?
What if my female dragon is eating greens and bugs. But her poop still smells the worst out of all the dragons I own. She always looks lethargic and always lays infertile eggs. She has the best appetite out of all the dragons. Eats her greens and bugs. Actually she’s kinda aggressive when it comes to food. She follows my hand any time I’m in front of her cage and paces back and forth when I enter the room. But yet is skinny and looks lethargic where you can see the bones and spine. What do you think she has? Never deformed her. But in her early life I fed her nothing but crickets now I switched to roaches and none of my dragons poops smells like hers. Literally the whole house will stink.lol
I actually found the dosage chart. Just weigh the dragon and go by that. I’ll try to figure out the syringe part when I get it delivered. Thanks for your help
My beardie just suffered from impaction. He has stinky runny poop so I am getting a Fenbendazoule 10%. He is 9inches, 24g. How should I feed him the medication?

Yea, these vets are extremely common. It's hard to find a good REPTILE vet!
Good information to know. I do give mine a probiotic.
Just be careful with supplements as too much of anything, even if its something good, is also possible to cause something bad.

Yea that coccidia is a huge task to overcome. Every little thing needs to be disinfected..
What did they give to treat it?

@@qbstailsnscales ok thank you I’m definitely going to check it out thanks for responding
@marketminds82 of course
hi qb same thing happened to one of my dragons. still haven’t fixed it over a month hope this dewormer helps
Dewormer did help a bit, but it seems to have came back after 2 doses. Gonna start again and do 3 doses. If that doesn't work, then vet visit.

That sounds like parasites but your dragon hasn't lost the battle yet and is continuing to fight, which is why she continues to eat.
How much de wormer do I give her. Can you give me an exact dosage.
@@jacobgarza5806 you need to go to beardeddragon.co and get dewormer and find the dosage chart. It's different for every dragon.

@jacobgarza5806 no problem! That company is owned by some friends of mine that have been doing this longer than I have!

Make sure the place you get the dewormer comes with a dosage chart. They will also sell the syringe for it.
How is you medication named?
Fenbendazole 10% or Panacur
