My wife just got me, my first fancy bearded dragon 4 days ago. I'm trying to figure everything out. He's the best. I know fancy isn't the morph, still trying to figure out everything I possibly can.
In regards to training and the best pet aspect, if a beardie is provided the appropriate enclosure, the correct husbandry and consistent (and patient) handling, any dragon can be the best.
Thanks for this mate! This is very informative especially to the likes of me that recently just began to pet these dragons. I bought a dunner (1 and a half months old) for only 40$ but the only thing that I am not satisfied is his coloration due to dark color of him, I want to ask you if he will lighten up a bit? It is indicated that he is a "Dunner Ph Hypo"
My guy is a normal citrus tiger. But carries the hypo gene and leatherback genefrom his mother completely and is possible for him to pass on the gg gene with his father being gg.
Hi mate. So your male dragon is het hypo normal scale. The common mode of inheritance for leatherback is co-dominant, which means either the dragon is leatherback or not (not recessive). It was believed that there was a line of “Italian” leatherback that was recessive. Without knowing the heritage of the dragons it is hard to say. The best way to determine inheritance is to breed him to a female normal scale from the same clutch.
The different morphs generate splendid animals, but we never forget the intrinsic beauty of the ancestral colors, which are the result of a very long evolutionary work modeled by nature on the various habitats of their range. Making a more cynical and materialistic assessment, it should be emphasized that subjects with ancestral colors enjoy a greater degree of genetic variability and consequently are generally healthier, which is why they also allow a greater boost to inbreeding in reproductive selection.
The German Giant is rumoured to have started from a central bearded dragon x eastern bearded dragon. The offspring were selectively line bred based on their size. A German giant is about 50% bigger than most central bearded dragons. This means it isn’t a recessive gene it is a polygenic trait. It’s like breeding for colour or pattern. German giants are bred for size. I hope that helps.
@@mrkrabs5729 hi mate. In the question I asked above, I asked what morph the male is. If there is no morph than I need to know that too. I also asked what scale type the female is (leatherback/normal scale)? Without this information I can’t give you an outcome. Blue bar is not a recessive trait. It is a polygenic trait linked to the trans gene. Your female may be hypo het trans.
Jay S hi mate. Breeding 2 hypo zeros together would result in a full clutch of hypo zeros. The biggest issue is that the the genetics of the zero is weak and 2 visuals shouldn’t be bred together. There will be a high risk of deformities and possibly still borns.
@@CookiesCritters Well I’m not sure what you mean but I think there was a misunderstanding lol I was talking about the scaleless beardies and how they remind me of the Sphinx cats
I have a normal. He’s as normal as they come. And I love him so so much
Wild type beardies are still beautiful creatures. My boy Rex is a Leatherback Wild Type and he is very handsome.

I've watched a few videos on this and you did the best at describing it 👏
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Very informative thank you
I have a hypo leatherback he’s a great beardie and I love him
Beardies make the best pets IMO. 👍
Really awesome video
I would love a paradox and a dunner to add to my collection.
Ian Brommy I would love a witblits 💖
thanks
No worries mate. Is there any content that you would like us to create in the future?
Nice video
Mckimm thanks mate 👍
great vid thanks , whats your personal favourite morph
I prefer Colour over morphs. High red is my favourite colour on a beardie.
While paradox is a random mutation not a morph it would be my favourite.
Which dragon is the best in health/training/overall best pet?
In my opinion, a normal central bearded dragon or a hypomelanistic central bearded dragon. I believe that they are the strongest genetically.

Hi mate. Bearded dragons can lighten up and change colour as they grow. The fact that it is a hypo means he should be lighter.

How crazy can these morphs get?
Like is it possible to get a Red Leatherback Dunner Trans morph?
I don’t have a beardie yet but I think I’ve decided on a hypo zero or high colour Wiblit.
What is a dunner?
Lol note to self
Finish the video before asking questions
Tahnee Harris I was going to ask if you did. It’s at the 10 min mark. Did i explain it clear enough? Do you have any other questions?
Is there a chance that you could help me with what kind of bearded dragon I have? I live on the faroe Islands, but I can send some pictures of him😊
Yes that will be fine. Follow the link in my bio to my FB page. Send the pics through FB messenger
Usually how much is a red color bearded dragon and where to buy?
So what is a german giant dragon? Is it like another morph or something? And how do you tell that its a german giant or not? Thxx

@@mufashaas7725 no worries mate. Happy to help
What would you get if you breed a hypo transucent leather back to a hypo normal scale
Half the clutch would be leatherback and the other half normal scale. The whole clutch would be hypo het translucent.
What happens if you bred a (Male) leatherback with a (Female) Hypo, citrus, possible blue-bar?
If will depend on the morph of the male and the scale type of the female. If you can give me this I can be more accurate with the possible outcome.
The male is leatherback
The female is hypo AND citrus AND possible blue bar

Is morph like scale type or colour? I don’t understand
Are any traits particularly weakening to the dragon?
Silkbacks don’t have scales to protect themselves
I want to get a red white and blue bearded dragon
Does it need the stars or just the stripes 😂👍

I wish I could see her full color but right now she is shedding. :(
Is she an adult or baby dragon?
Do u sale
We do sell our dragons. Only within Australia though. We are not allowed to export our native wildlife.
