I am working as an car body mechanic and we remove this wax first with an hot air dryer and and paper towels because when ist gets hot it melts and then you can easy whipe it of and as last step we use an Silicon and wax remover from standox to whipe it all of. This realy works great.

On these VQ engines (at least the 3.5 liter from the previous generation Z car), you only really notice after 4000rpm, at which point they absolutely howl. It has to be one of the nicest sounding engines out there with an open air kit like this over the dampened air boxes.

BMW M-Sport H Don’t be scared to do it, i have an E90 and the trick is to cover the alternator and don’t aim the pressure washer too close to the intake side, that will avoid hydro locks in the engine, they are prepared from factory to resist a lot of water up to certain point. Just be gentle with the distance of the water and don’t point the nozzle in the same spot during several seconds... i have doing this already 6 year with my BMW and so far not a single issue!!! 👍

Four questions... Do you worry about harsher products etching or degrading the alloy components in the engine bay? Do you worry about the overspray onto the fenders/wings / mudguards and windshield (removing waxes or water spots)? and have you considered an under-bonnet insulation blanket - for a clean look and sound / heat control? and finally, do you ever use a portable air blower / air compressor and nozzle to blow the water out of cracks and crevices between stages?

Good work! Wish we could get that water-based dressing here in the US. I was thinking that if you want to "spot-remove" any more of that wax that you discover during future cleans, maybe you can use a heat gun and wipe most of it away.

303 aerospace protectant and meguiars hyper dressing is basically the same.

@@CarCleaningGuru Thanks for the info! I would like to apply something that actually provides benefit and protection to the surfaces, rather than just temporary asthetics.

Hi, great video . Have you ever used Simple Green cleaner ?
You could have pop off the plastic cover off the engine . Big red cover . Clean under it . All connection are water proof.

dont worry too much about the bottom of the hood/bonnet. if you look closely on the bottom left it says it has been coated with minor scratch resistant coating.

I looked that up, pretty sure it’s the whole car, apparently Nissan was the first to implement it.

Hi bud, love your channel. I find it very relaxing watching your good self taking the time to enjoy thoroughly cleaning your pride and joy.
One thing that had my ocd firing was the bonnet prop, I’d lose this and replace with a pair of gas struts for a cleaner, more modern look, in my opinion.
Keep up the good work my friend, cheers.

    • @CarCleaningGuru
      @CarCleaningGuru  4 роки тому +1

I hate it too, it’s because of the pop-up pedestrian safety bonnet. You can get a kit to replace the mechanisms and add struts but it costs about £400 I think!

Great job !, I like the clean fitting of sport air filters, it's cleaner than the original! 👍 👍 👍. Two dynamic carbon admissions would also have been great!

Love the look. As you say the sound is the main thing. Should get that extra throaty induction noise now. Also when opening the bonnet yourself and seeing those K&N's there will be a few butterflies 😂.

I wonder if there's some sort of cover you could get for the header tank? Black, white or red would be amazing. Even though its clearly spotless it would be a nice touch for when you want to "pop your power bulge" ;-) Love the videos either way! One last thing - I'm blaming you for the silly amount I've spent of car cleaning products since the lockdown began!

Loved All Your videos to date!!!
Might I suggest next time that you use a steam gun to remove the wax, easier and it handles grease and dirty carpets as well. Worthy investment!

Love the video and your work even if I am a stock kind of guy. I cleaned my engine bay yesterday and it was long over due. So today it was time to apply dressing and make it shiny. Even if I am the only one who opens the bonnet it still is a nice feeling to know it is clean. I applied som gloss to the exterior of my old car aswell even if I know it will look like s*it again after the coming week. The winter here is cold. Snow slush and salt will take its toll.
