Looking forward to part 2. I have a mega 360 on my kayak, and I love it. Sometime's in deeper water, the quality seems a bit lacking, so I'm curious at how the standard 360 looks.
Thanks for subscribing. Standard 360 is in the 455khz frequency and the Mega 360 can run 455khz/1.2khz frequencies. If you can find side images of a structure in both 455khz and 1.2khz would be a good comparison. Hopefully have the boat back and on the water in March to make part 2. Lakes all frozen around here.
@@mcelweeoutdoors2111 Is it similar to 2D sonar, where 455khz gives you increased range, but less resolution? Or is it like the main transducer, and it already automatically displays information from both spectrums? (Talking about the MEGA. I haven't tried forcing 455 yet)
@@JoshuaBFishing It will give information off just one spectrum. You should be able to switch to 455khz in the menu setting on you graph to give you greater range and less resolution. 1.2khz will give you less range better resolution. If I'm scanning a new lake for structure, I'll run 455khz or 800khz on my main side scan to cover more water. Haven't used my mega 360 as a main structure scanner yet.

Yes still waiting on the Mega Live. Have my front graphs upgraded to G3 and G4.
So if I'm upgrading from standard 360 to MEGA 360....and I have a Helix 12 DI upfront and Ultrex....and I'm running DI and 2d from the Ultrex....I'll need a Y cable to run the MEGA 360 in order to retain the 2d capability right?
Your Helix will need to be a G3 or G4 Mega +, and you will need the Y cable if you want to see the down imaging and 2d.
I am not finding mega 360 for ultrex, however I have the standard 360 for ultrex. In case I buy a mega 360 universal one, is that possible to use standard 360 bracket to fix universal mega shaft?
The mounting brackets for the standard 360 and the mega 360 for the Ultrex are the same brackets. I left my standard mount on my Ultrex and slide the mega into the mount.

So how's it going? How big is the differences between the two besides side imaging?
There is a big differences between the two. If you have mega side imaging on your boat switch from 1.2mhz to 455khz will show the quality of the image. Down side is you need a G3 or G4 with mega imaging to run the mega 360. Hope to have the 2nd video done this month an on the channel.

I'm working on it now. 1st standard 360 mount failed, so had to rethink about mounting.

Wrong all solix will run the mega 360 back to g2
