Thank you. You earned my subscription. I bought a bombed out boat and doing a gut and redo on it and want to make sure I do it once and do it right.

Thanks for the video. I have a single network switch, and each port is occupied by 4 helix units and I pilot trolling motor. I can have 3 units and trolling motor all seeing each other on the network, but as soon as I turn on my bow unit with the 360, I lose all networked units. Any idea what this could be? I still see the trolling motor in the network screen, but all other units black out when I turn on the fourth unit.
My next plan is to do a detailed check on wiring for the unit with the 360, but I have tried and tried to troubleshoot this with no luck :( Prior to this issue, all units had no issues and networked as expected.

you seem to know what your talking about, any idea how to get rid of the interference from trolling motor? triton aluminum 186 with motorguide tour pro 36v have isolated power, fuse box, grounded batteries, grounded trolling motor, the mega 360 and helix 10 brand new followed all instructions and bad wagon wheel effect even tried the noise settings nothing changes it any trick or tip.

Im not sure if i missed it, but what size wire did you run from Mega Live and Mega 360 to fuse block?

What did you do with the drain / shield wire with the mega live. Would you recommend home running every item that is on the network to the fuse block panel?
Also adding a few switches does it cause a minor drop in voltage, hence e why I asked about home running each item on the network to the fuse block panel?
I am not sharp shooting, I am just trying learning more about how to install and power all my units.

Thank you! When you say "y cable" at the end of the video, are you speaking of the "dongle"?

Hi, good question. In the end, I'm referring to an M360 y-cable since mega 360 is a sonar transducer that plugs into the back of the head unit (solix or helix). One leg of the y-cable will plug into the head unit, another leg goes to the mega 360, and the last leg will go to a mega transducer (MDI/MSI). If a MSI is connected to that last leg, only 2D and down imaging will be pinged. The Side Imaging ping will go to the M360.

Do you have a part number for this "y cable"?

what’s your opinion on switching grounds instead of hots?

Anywhere in the circuit, a switch can be installed. Typically, it's on the positive side of the DC circuit because, in situations where there is a chassis ground, the ground wire could short to ground somewhere else making the switch useless. However, that's not typical with fiberglass boats.
