“You the protagonist have been endowed with the power of quick saving” I can’t tell if he’s making a joke, because that is the actual lore of the game.
**SPOILER WARNING** Yeah the quicksave is actually part of the lore of the game. Basically you play as someone that was once a researcher for the SCP Foundation, but, after researching a document about the Spiral of Gestalt and got caught, you were demoted to a Class-D. Everytime someone is to be used as Class-D, the foundation gives them a drug that makes them forget everything about themselves. The research your character did was something that worked, since he now has two realities mixed with each other. Their reality, and yours. Everytime your character dies and you load the save, he doesn't remember what happened, but you do. You have one of the endings (Gate A: Ending 2, is obtained by containing SCP-106 and escaping through Gate A) the scientists of the Foundation ponder in considering your character as an SCP, since he escaped through hell and even contained one of the Keter SCPs of that site.
@@perfectcitizen1306 I would argue it's likely escaping with the Chaos Insurgency, who will likely let you join them to fuck with the foundation or even just leave.

@@theclockman775 Yeah the ending speech when you get to gate A is pretty good. It feels oddly satisfying to basically be classified as an SCP at the end of the game and it's technically the second "best" ending since you don't die in the gate A endings unlike in the Gate B ones

I swear to god this is the funniest video i have seen in a long time... the jokes, the random use of Marc Rebillet and the editing are amazing bro. Good job^^
Not really. Series One was just a monster manual. Nowadays SCPs are more complex than that. A lot of them have interesting stories attached which can tie into the many cannons in the SCP universe. IMO that’s better than a simple death-creature with a file that’s littered with typos. Plus, some of the most popular series one SCPs had their images stolen. 173 at least got the creator that it plagiarized the image of to begrudgingly allow it after the fact. 682’s image was stolen and had the watermark cropped out.
@@CatterCattington Alright. First of all, that redacted for half the file was a series one problem. I don’t know what your talking about with it being a recent problem, because from what I’ve seen it is the exact opposite. I will admit that a lot of recent articles are, well, weird to say the least. This came from the death-monster fatigue that stemmed from series one. I personally don’t get annoyed by this, though I understand if you would. As one of the many people who were introduced to SCP via series one, you kind of get desensitized to those kind of SCPs, so a breath of fresh air is nice. However, you are ignoring the mass amount of SCPs with genuinely good and unnerving stories. Some of my favorite are 2316 and 2764. These both came after series one but in my opinion convey a far better narrative than, “Lizard who can’t die but we try to kill it because SCP stands for KILL, KILL, KILL.” Hell, I think 2316 could stand on its own pretty well. Now I like series one as much as the next person, but it definitely hails from a time where SCP was just dipping its feet into the water. The site has grown and changed for the the better. It has shifted from an outlet for cool ideas to an outlet for interesting (and sometimes weird) narratives.
I just checked it, they replaced the picture. I had an actual picture of a horse from the mines of the city where I live. The horse was buffed af and was looking straight into the camera.
I thought it was me and my lack of story comprehension that was making SCP a confusing mess to understand but its turns out it's just that confusing...
Scp can simeltaneously be some of the best literary experiences i have ever had, like reading a coherent Grant Morrison novel... As well as the sort of material that makes me cringe so hard that i want to shoot myself like Vincent Van Gogh to numb the pain.
A good movie or series could be made of they only used the good SCPs and ignored all the cringe ones. But it's probably best if no one tries to do that because they would most likely ruin it anyway, more ruined than it already is

If I could and wasn’t lazy, I would write an SCP that is a car that it drive it self. The vehicle can change to any type of car but his colors always are maintained. The car would only appear out of nowhere in races driving with a crazy style. Almost always wins. If you get closer to it you can hear eurobeat in the radio.
adding on to it the car has heavily tinted windows and its doors, trunk, etc cannot be opened. the paint job is always black and white. it can appear as any vehicle in order to participate in a race, notable non-automotive examples being cargo trains, sailboats, lawn mowers, even superheavy mining excavators. scp is uncontainable, although it can never be in two places at once it simply appears once a race is over at another race. It can go from any part of the world to another, sometimes leaving Earth entirely- an explanation for periodic days to decades where the SCP disappears. it always appears on all documentation (sign-up-sheets, starting grid layouts, etc) from an hour to 15 minutes before a race starts. all other racers, race officials and spectators minds are anomalously affected so no one finds it unusual. While racing, SCP never breaks any rules and has never been documented crashing or making any other driving mistakes. Upon the conclusion of a race, it will stay for a short time at the podium but never accepts prizes or otherwise communicates, and after the short wait time it immediately exits the area at high speed until disappearing when unobserved and instantly reappearing and changing form somewhere else its classification is uncontained but safe there i wrote it
I played this game when I was 11, and my name just so happened to be James so imagine my surprise when I came across the butt monster scp and it gave me an achievement saying "By researcher James, age 11"
Technically, the entirety of it is literally fanfics, who then make fanfics out of their own fanfics and others make fanfics out of those fanfics. That is literally the entirety of what the SCP lore is, its all the community.
@@chromedown808s Well, I wouldn't exactly call it fan fiction, but that's essentially how it works to some extent. People make an SCP, someone wants to write about it, sometimes to extents that add onto the lore. The difference between that and normal fan fiction however is that all the SCP stories are technically canon.
I love all the joke mods for this game, finally inspired me to make a few of my own a while back, I think my best one is like number 4 on the top rated now? Feels good, man.
No. There is a surprising amount of "game" from this lore. SCP is a website for horror writers to make stories within a universe that has a lot of flexibility. This game is based off the most famous SCPs
@@TheONLYFeli0 IK but it has its own story in this game that you can find in the SCP that is a hole in a brick that you can get stuff out of, you were a scientist but found a phenomenon that made you kind of time travel a bit every time you die. There is a video on it.
It's funny, as I wasn't afraid by amnesia or any of the non-combat horror games in the slightest thanks to the meta understanding that the game was never going to put me into a situation I couldn't flee or hide from. When combat is an option, fight or flight kicks in, and it makes combat encounters far scarier to me. I found Dead Space 2 significantly scarier than Amnesia... The scariest horror games IMO are ones where combat is an option, but the player isn't overpowered. Really it is a game design thing moreso than a weapons or no weapons thing. Solid video. I miss the golden age of SCP where it wasn’t all “my cosmic deity has a bigger penis than your cosmic entity now read my Bible-length fanfiction.”
Containment Breach also shows its age, but thankfully the original team are working on a remake in Unreal right now.
Oh Jesus Christ it was THAT. Thank god my brain suppressed that.

the horror isn't wether you can kill the thing in front of you, but if you'll have enough to kill the NEXT one

you have an awesome game review selection not found anywhere else online, i really appreciate the work you put into your vids and im always excited when you upload.
Thanks man!
Well in the SCP lore Dr.Bright is the site director of Site 19 where Containment Breach takes place. So it makes a lotta sense why there was joints in the Site Directors office

We see the same with the backrooms. Didnt last long before somebody siad "LORE LORE LORE I WANT LORE EVERYTHING EXPLAINED WITH LORE LORE LOREL OREL ORLER OREP"

I loved this games atmosphere. However, after dying repeatedly in frustrating scenarios and abusing quick saves to scout ahead I had forgotten the fear of death. Pissed beats scared every time.
I swear to god this is the funniest video i have seen in a long time... the jokes, the random use of Marc Rebillet and the editing are amazing bro. Good job^^
Fun fact if you go into the game and then hit the pause button in the pause screen a message will display that says stop hiding
scp was in its golden age when 4chan wrote stuff for it
what a time
scp was good before everyone saw 682 and wished to make something more op than it
case in point: scarlet king, scp 3812

This seems like just regular Dr. Bright activities.
Someone please write this into reality this is a masterpiece
@@dracvich awww thanks
adding on to it
the car has heavily tinted windows and its doors, trunk, etc cannot be opened. the paint job is always black and white. it can appear as any vehicle in order to participate in a race, notable non-automotive examples being cargo trains, sailboats, lawn mowers, even superheavy mining excavators.
scp is uncontainable, although it can never be in two places at once it simply appears once a race is over at another race.
Upon the conclusion of a race, it will stay for a short time at the podium but never accepts prizes or otherwise communicates, and after the short wait time it immediately exits the area at high speed until disappearing when unobserved and instantly reappearing and changing form somewhere else
its classification is uncontained but safe
there i wrote it

The SCP community will never recover from fanfics. And 1471… mostly 1471.
Furry fanfics specifically
Technically, the entirety of it is literally fanfics, who then make fanfics out of their own fanfics and others make fanfics out of those fanfics. That is literally the entirety of what the SCP lore is, its all the community.
@@unoriginalperson72 Remember: "Iteration F is gay furry porn"
@@lyndon4610it's fanfiction?
@@chromedown808s Well, I wouldn't exactly call it fan fiction, but that's essentially how it works to some extent. People make an SCP, someone wants to write about it, sometimes to extents that add onto the lore. The difference between that and normal fan fiction however is that all the SCP stories are technically canon.

There is a surprising amount of lore in this game.
The best place to be is somewhere in the middle and not at the extreme ends.
