Props for not spreading the myth that you deal more damage the higher the difficulty. Not only is that a Metro thing, in SoC you actually deal more damage the lower the difficulty (CS and CoP doesn't change your damage at all).
these meat sticks are not an uncook sausages, it's колбаса ("kolbasa"). it's a stick of smoked and seasoned fatty meat, it meant to be eaten that way and is pretty good with bread
That M4 platform rife you talk about is the LR-300, basically an AR with a special mechanism that removes the need for a buffer tube, which lets it have a folding stock. They are extremely rare weapons.
The early game exists exclusively to kit you up for Pripyat and Chernobyl. It's funny there is no repair mechanic, because it was clearly intended to be there, given as many of the unique weapons and armors you find are so damaged it outweighs any potential benefit they might have had.
As someone who has been to Liverpool with a local, also known as a guide, who's first question was "Out of all places, why do you wanna go to Liverpool?", I can confirm the similarities. Good video.
Just a small correction on the Duty segment: it's heavily implied, and outright revealed in Call of Pripyat, that the zone is expanding, thus making Duty's purpose even more obvious and their intentions noble. So yes, show those Freedom dogs no mercy.
Love the Fallout 1 music used near the end, reminds me of how much of a lifesaver the flash rifle (fallout 2 gauss rifle reference) was in SoC’s endgame
in one of my playthroughs i gathered all the artifacts i could throughout the game, along with every specimen, i managed to rack up about 180 something jellyfish. Wanna try some Zone Sportsmanship Challenges? 2:16 See also the original Flashback from the early '90s. 4:50 Only if you fire it from the hip. You have to aim down the rib (and use finesse in the form of well-placed, well-timed shots, plus evasive reloading when needed) to be effective with it. This is one of those games that handicaps shotguns by making them throw loose patterns when fired from the hip. But it's not necessarily a handicap, per se, if you can make it work for you rather than against you. Personally, I prefer the way Borderlands 2 handles that by just having shotguns throw their pattern off-center when fired from the hip rather than going loose and wild. I don't recall if BL1 even handicaps shotguns at all when they're fired without aiming down sights. 5:15 The sawed-off TOZ-66 is a "rabbit-ear" (double hammer) sidelock similar to the one used by Mad Max in 'Beyond Thunderdome'. In all the other Mad Max movies, Max uses hammerless boxlocks. Btw, ShoC's sawed-off if the most realistic depiction of a "rabbit-ear" sidelock ever depicted in a video game (not including mods), even to the point that the hammers are properly thumbed back with the thumb rather than being palmed back with the palm like they are in the other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. True S.T.A.L.K.E.R. does a good job too, but ShoC did it first. 5:24 I'll never understand why you aim over the rear sight instead of through it with the LR-300. Most mods fix that. OLP Team fixed that in the Oblivion Lost mod way back in 2008, revamping the entire in-world and in-view weapon model, most importantly making the sights line up right. 10:45 Ecologists, represent! I always join them in Oblivion Lost (any version), and my first Anomaly character was an ecologist. 12:32 Ackchyually, it's an AKS-74, not an AK-74M. Also, since folding stocks became a standard feature with the AK-74M in 1991, the letter "S" (for "skladnoy" which means "folding") in the nomenclature was dropped since it would have been redundant. 12:50 Two Moonlights, two Crystals, and one Mica will give you infinite stamina, high rad resisty, and a good amount of wound-healy. You'll still want to keep a handful of bandages and antirad doses on you, though, but you can forego energy drinks once you have one Flash or Moonlight (or two Sparklers).
Oh, and I think that didn't really become clear in the video: It's definitely an FPS and you will shoot a lot of people and mutants, but there is also no reward for it aside from some ammo and sometimes a new weapon. With Mutants you mostly just want to avoid them when you can, as you would only be wasting ammo and health items. Obviously not really possible in the more confined story sections, but otherwise it's often better to stay out of trouble.
Joshi, about he zombies. Just look for the translated videos of what they say. ...that's dark. Brings a new, even darker flavour in the game while you play it.
I love the Bar. I paid so many visits there some years ago while I was messing around with the game files. It's a nice location for the main stash. Especially when you want to play it more like an open world game.
Also amusing seeing you carrying meat chunk artifacts which wipe out most of your armour for a slight health regen (since the game doesn’t explain +400% health isn’t actual health but regen rate)
Stalker mobs aren't a bullet sponge like in Fallout. You just need a right weapon for the job and a good aim. Complete all the quest (especially non-repeatable ones) and you will unlock high-quality armor and weapons. You will be gifted some armor and weapons for free after completing quests.
