The process of retargeting is always the same, the problem is finding Ostrch mocap :) If you mean retargeting a human mocap to an animal, I am not an expert but I did experiment with it a bit ua-cam.com/video/HHnt-3uLSUo/v-deo.html
Another great tutorial, thank you! I have a somewhat general rigging question. Do you know how to make fur or hair made from the new geometry nodes follow along with the character rig? I know that with particle systems you have to put the rig modifier before the particle system modifier, but I haven't been able to find anything about the new system, and I haven't been able to find an answer online. I even asked ChatGPT, haha.
Not yet! But also I am having trouble connecting the dots here. I mean you ask about mixamo that somehow involves Rigify and it's a comment under and Auto-Rig Pro video :D So even if I do what I have in mind, I am not sure if it will be exactly what you want :P
Todor, your videos are life saving. I'm not a fan of rigging, but your videos make it much less dreadful. One question I have though, unrelated to the video, but related to Mixamo: I have a rig I generally use on VR-Chat models and while it worked fine when uploaded to Mixamo and then imported back with animations (with skin, for maximum compatibility with its original T-Pose), the root movement was assigned to the armature object instead to the Hips bone (which is the root). Do you have any idea how I could solve this? I'm thinking about creating a copy of the armature, using an empty to copy its movement, then applying a constraint to the original armature's Hip bone to copy from the empty and then bake the animation, but I wonder if there are better options or even some addon to deal with this problem. I've seen other people complaining about Mixamo doing the same in some rigs after some 2022 update (which I don't know much about, because I haven't been using it for more than two weeks). Again, thanks a lot for your videos!
the empty solution is something I have used myself. There is a paid addon for that www.blendermarket.com/products/fixamo There might be a free one as well so do some googling before buying.
I am not familiar enough with wonder dynamics yet. But retargeting is retargeting. This is my playlist on the topic. ua-cam.com/play/PLdcL5aF8ZcJux9f5Bvb1QlByiHWTK3ICP.html
Excellent video! ARP tutorials are my favorite. I wanted to ask if it's possible that you make a tutorial on advanced facial shapekeys/drivers with ARP and RBF nodes addon (from bravest rabbit). I'm trying to get a professional result, similar to Maya, but i still don't understand very well how the RBF works. I haven't found any facial advanced tutorial, sadly. I love blender so much, i'm sure it will become part of industry standard one day, specially with tools like ARP.
Part 2 is out actually. For Part 3 I wanted to show how to rig anime faces. The addon dev is making some changes to the addon so I am waiting for the updates.
Great video as always! however, I think it would be super useful if you showed how to properly add custom bones and how to hide parts of the mesh for weight painting while still being able to click and shuffle through bones when painting!
Great tutorial! What would be the best way to retarget mocap animation onto a rig like this?

I haven't played with the new hair system much yet.
Nice tutorial! Thank you! It would be very interesting to know if ARP is also capable to rig mechanical models. Great content!!!
A very homanoid robot might be doable but mechanics are not covered in general.
Thank you for this series.
Nice tutorials! Have you ever did tutorial how to combine rigify mixamo animations? It's such a pain to match up all that rigify controls in right way

also some animations in Mixamo have an options called "in place". If you enable it, that removes the root motion right in Mixamo.
Can you make a video showing us how to copy mo cap animation from wonder dynamics to other blender character cause it is complicated

Hey can you make a video on whale rigging? with the whale model you made
will consider it, thanks!
@@CGDive Please do, thanks

I just started working with RBF Nodes myself. I am planning to make a tutorial about it soon.
@@CGDive Oh, that's amazing! I'm so glad! I'll be waiting for the video! Thank you!
Can we get a part 2 for FaceIt?
With android support and complex faces?

@@CGDive thx
THANK YOU👍
You are welcome!
Good tutorial, I also request you to make more tutorial on free addons rather than paid ones. Thanks
I make videos on addons I am interested in regardless of price.

@@CGDive Perfect
How to resze controls? My controls are inside the body 🙁
Haven't seen that problem, sorry... :(
@@CGDive thanks for the quick reply. My character is very fat that's why controls are left inside 😞. I tried to scale it but didn't work
@@OWS-Shorts Ah, I see. I've covered that in other videos. See here
