  • My Vintage He-man and the Masters of the Universe Skeletor Army contains many less than perfect figures. And quite a few have faces that have seen better days. Some almost have no paint left on them so it seemed a good idea to fix them up and make Skeletor presentable again.
He's a tricky figure to paint as every single one I have is a different colour, so lots of mixing of paint is required.

It's kind of humourous that you are restoring the faces of a character that's main defining feature is that he lacks one.

If you go to an artist supply shop you can get flexible paints for leather and Pu. I've painted rubber, leather and plastics in them and they flex perfectly for as long as I remember. They are not overly expensive and I suspect a lot more harder wearing than normal model paint

Hello, this news may surprise you. In Spain, this same year the “trepas” appeared for sale, as they say in English. the "climbs" are the masks to paint the colored parts of skeletor. To paint each part, they were put on the face and with each one they painted yellow and then the eyes, until completing the painting of the entire head, appeared in the eviction of the factory where under the license of. congost figures were made. the price paid for the 6 "climbs" was 13,000 euros. yes indeed 11738 GPB. there is an interview. If you put in the gogle search engine "trepas skeletor spain" you can see photos. , the collector who bought them lives in "the canary islands". It is almost certain that it is a unique piece in the world, since that was something that was not guaranteed and always ended up in the trash.

I really needed to see a great restoration like this today :) If I could give some advice on the Vallejo paints Dave, you might find them to be nicer than the Humbrol, as Vallejo boasts that their paints are a "purer" acrylic. I use them quite a lot and Formula P3 for hand brushing tiny details. They level really well, can easily be mixed for new colors, and thinned a bit with water. In the modeling community there's a bit of caution towards some of the Humbrol acrylics as they can have a sandy/grainy texture, I've had this happen once and it was quite noticeable. Vallejo also have a "Game Color" range with a lot of unique flesh tones and very bright colors that many toys would have used.

    • @toypolloi

No. For me grading is a bit of a con, so I wouldn't waste my money trying to get something they should easily spot graded.

@@toypolloi thank you for replying you and your videos are awesome! My thinking was because grading is a con then if the grader's give a repaired toy a high grade that would prove it's a con.

I had this bizarre thought after seeing all those Skelator figures. The Skelator choir. That is a disturbing thought

Why paint a happy little tree when you can paint a happy little Skeletor?
