  • Showcasing 2 diamonds of the same GIA certified grades, with one performing much better than the other. On paper, these 2 diamonds are exactly the same, both with the same Carat, Color, Clarity, and Triple Excellent. However, one is a high light performing diamond, while the other has poor performance.
    In this video, we compare them in real life scenarios, under direct light (LED, halogen, etc.) and Indirect light (white lights, office, outdoor cloudy daylight). See how they compare on a diamond ring, and when it's viewed for a far distance.
    To understand more about the light performance and how to pick a brilliant and fiery diamond, you may learn more about the ASET scope at - • JannPaul Education: AS...
    The ASET scope allows to to analyse the light performance of a diamond against the poor performing ones.

    Thanks for sharing. Am I correct that when viewing diamond images I should buy one that seems to have a dark looking star in the table of the stone?

    Funny how the price of each diamond is never mentioned. Now why oh why might that be?

    But realistically how hard is it to find the super ideal cuts? You can't exactly filter for them easily in your search.

    • @tuxedocat3620

      Yes, and it would have even more fire and brilliance because moissanite is more sparkly than diamond.

      I know your comment is already 2yrs ago. But I have a 3 carat DEW (Diamond Equivalent Weight) 9mm Moissanite from Charles and Colvard, and I absolutely loooooveeee it!! The fire and brilliance is amazing. I got a regular Moissanite from C&C. But they also have Forever One Moissanite which is another great option. And since Moissanite is almost as hard as a Diamond, it's just as durable. I'm going on 3 yrs now with my ring and it's still as good as new. I clean mine once a week with a toothbrush and a cleaner to keep the sparkle looking clear. A lot of people compare Moissanite and Diamonds. But a Moissanite is it's own stone. Also! natural Moissanite is even more rare than Diamonds! Most Moissanites are lab grown. But in nature, they grow from meteorite strike sites!! First discovered by Dr. Henri Moissan in a crater in Arizona. Moissanites are a great option, if you want a Diamond "look", but without the cost of a high quality Diamond. My ring was priced at $6,660 but I got it on sale for. A 3 carat Diamond can cost over a whopping $100k if you go for a flawless or VVS, with nice clear color, and excellent cut.

      @@tawnikitari Thanks. Yes the quality of production and cut and size plays a part. The proportion has to be right. But for traditional faceting 56 to 57 it looks better on below 1.5ct

    Sorry i don't understand, what is the solution? which option should you include to get the super ideal cut beside the triple exc to get the result of the brighter one?

    • @KHlj9
      @KHlj9 2 роки тому

      I'm not sure I quite understand what your asking, but I am assuming how to tell between the two? Well, the grade given to both on their lab report will be the same: triple ex. However, the super ideals will be marketed and sold as such and several diamond sellers have branded super ideals, including JannPaul. Also as mentioned in the video, an ASET image of the diamond will show light leakage.

    • @lindsayschoures8195
      @lindsayschoures8195 Рік тому

      @@KHlj9 How can the both be the same quality if one is super ideal? Isn't that a definition of a better quality cut?

    • @KHlj9
      @KHlj9 Рік тому

      @@lindsayschoures8195 Because the grading laboratories only go up to "excellent" in each category: Cut, polish, symmetry.
      Super ideals are cut to very specific metrics for light return by the company in excess of the grading standard for "excellent". All super ideals will always get a grade of excellent in all three categories, it is only the degree of cut precision and the resulting light return that is the difference between triple ex and super ideal. Both are very beautiful. And for a lot of people they won't be able to tell the difference unless with a side by side comparison.

    • @carlrichardson4974
      @carlrichardson4974 Рік тому

      You have to determine the difference between triple excellent and super ideal by checking the crown and pavilion angles on the report

      Then they actually have access to most of the diamond supply. Super ideal cut diamonds only make up about 1% of the available diamonds in the market. Ideal cuts are more abundant but still smaller in number than diamonds of fair to excellent cuts.

    Diamond on the left has more carbon in it which gives it a darker appearance.

    • @KHlj9
      @KHlj9 2 роки тому +4

      @@reneehilscher6176 No, it's not true. The left has cut angle ratios that aren't as good as that on the right. All diamond are 100% carbon arranged in a lattice structure (inclusions and impurities are not part of the diamond and has it's own atomic composition.) No diamond will have more carbon in that lattice structure than any other diamond.
