    Diamond certificate
    I'm that guy Osiris and today we are going to talk about diamond certificates. You're gonna learn why it's so important to make sure that you buy a diamond with the right type of certification because this is going to be the difference in paying 20 to 30% higher price for a diamond grade that’s not accurate. So you are overpaying for a lower-quality diamond. Does that sound appealing to you? Let's get into it.

    I must say, you are an absolute rockstar. Was very close to going with an IGI before last-minute making the change to GIA. You could easily tell the IGI diamond was a grade below the GIA on colour at least. Can only imagine how many people get caught by this.

    • @OsirisDiamonds
      @OsirisDiamonds  2 роки тому

      I would say this. 99% are IGI. If there are some GIA certs it’s for sure a plus. But my focus would be cut. Not GIA with labs. GIA is more critical when buying natural because being off a grade on color and clarity can be thousands of dollars in a natural. It’s basically priced the same with labs.

    Could you make a video on (( true heart cut vs triple ideal cut )) does it differ and worth spending the money special if we care abt the sparkles of the diamond.. and we need a video on ( how to get the most sparkly diamond affordably))

    • @OsirisDiamonds
      @OsirisDiamonds  3 роки тому

      Thanks for commenting. I have some guides on my site that help narrow the gap. True hearts does have an advantage in cut but if you narrow down the premium ideal settings it closes the gap and only makes it marginally different. Keep in mind the diamond game is one of slights. You pay premiums for slight improvements. Just because GIA says excellent cut doesn't mean there isnt a wide margin within the realm of "excellent".

      @OsirisDiamonds  3 роки тому +5

      You are very welcome, glad I have helped. That depends. Does it appear eye clean to you. If it is eye clean 20X magnified then you are good. If you are mounting white gold, then I would be nice so you should go H. If yellow gold you are good. Some people love their J color on white gold. One carat is pretty safe, 2-3 carats and you start seeing more color.

    But how do I find a diamond that is certified GIA and online? Are they brick and mortar stores or a small online business? I’m saying I don’t know where to shop. Thanks 😊🇨🇦

    Hi! Would you recommend HRD antwerp certified diamonds?

      Hi and thanks for the comment. No I wouldn't recommend them. GIA and AGS only for natural.

    The chart was too complex for me. Lolol!! I do not recommend anyone getting an SI2 stone. I had a 1.5 F color oval SI2, and with the naked eye yes I could see it. It becomes more in the middle the carbon. Love these video!

      Dammit, why did I have to go showing off like that! Next time I will simply my graphs. Yes, SI2 diamonds can be very tricky and have to be considered on a very limited case by case basis. I love me some SI1's.

    I bought as GIA certificate lab grown a few weeks ago. H VVS2. I looked up the number on the GIA website and it brought the certificate up. How do I know if it’s real or fake?

    I just purchased a pretty rare diamond - AGS certified - VVS1 “just under flawless - G color - 1 carat - 8K - What’re your thoughts? I went to James Allen website and they didn’t have anything better unless I went GIA certified.

    What does it mean to have a GIA certificate and say colour treated? Does that mean the natural diamond does not have as much value?

    I got a necklace as a gift my friend passed away. I took the diamond out and tried testing it at home. It doesn't float, I cant see lettering under it, It scratches glass and on my tester shows up red. Its a yellow but looks kind of green/ blue but do you think it's a diamond or moissanite? I don't want to pay to get it tested if it's not a diamond.

      Very hard to give you an accurate answer without it being in my hand. If the goal is to sell it then I would an appraisal from a local store. If its just for curiosity, you wont really know until a pro can confirm. The green blue color is certainly throwing me off.

    What about lab diamonds? Is it crucial to get a certified diamond?

      It makes sense to always get certified. So you know the specs of the diamond.

    Can you haggle a lab diamond because it's igi.
    When you buy a diamond from online . Is there someone I can take it to to confirm the Cs

    • @OsirisDiamonds
      @OsirisDiamonds  3 роки тому +1

      You can't haggle online. Online is cheap because its a razor thin margin. The price is the price. You can spend money to get it GIA certified. I wouldn't. Its going to be off a grade. Dont pay extra just to find that out. Just buy with the knowledge its off one grade in clarity and color.
