Diamond certificate
I'm that guy Osiris and today we are going to talk about diamond certificates. You're gonna learn why it's so important to make sure that you buy a diamond with the right type of certification because this is going to be the difference in paying 20 to 30% higher price for a diamond grade that’s not accurate. So you are overpaying for a lower-quality diamond. Does that sound appealing to you? Let's get into it.

@@OsirisDiamonds hi, I need your advice on a 6.5 carat raw diamond we have bought. Would you be able to help me to find where to cut and polish?
@@joaocarimo Hi and thanks for writing. I would suggest checking for a local diamond cutter in your jewelry district. Depending on the quality of the rough, you may have some options on how to make the best use of it.
You're awesome! My searches confirm your statements. Thank you so much for the awesome education and transparency 🙂
Thanks Osiris for the great explanation of certifications. It’s crazy to learn how the diamond business operates. Like you mentioned we all want to save $$ or get the best value.

Awesome information! thank you for bringing the truth on the table.
Great advice! Surely going to ask this to the jewellers while buying 👍 Thanks a lot!
My pleasure 😊 If they have certs that arent GIA they will defend having the lower quality ones.
Thanks for the great info. Tons of information designed to save money. Thank you!
You bet! Glad I was able to help!

Thank you so much Osiris VERY MUCH HELP ‼️‼️‼️
Happy to help Chris!
Thank you for your advice, extremely helpful 🙏
Glad I could help!!!
I must say, you are an absolute rockstar. Was very close to going with an IGI before last-minute making the change to GIA. You could easily tell the IGI diamond was a grade below the GIA on colour at least. Can only imagine how many people get caught by this.
Thank you, Oliver! And IGI is the next best cert. as it's off one shade. Many more that are two shades off. Shady business practices are rampant. Glad I was able to help.
@ThatGuyOsiris what your thoughts on traxnyc
Just subbed! Wanted to see if you could do a video about Diamond stubs earrings. Really been wanting to buy some and now I know where to go just need a bit more knowledge on the perfect ( pair )
Any comments on GCAL certs? Thanks
for the great videos Osiris!
Really appreciate your content. It has tremendously helped me in my search for the perfect diamond!
Glad I can help Moe!
@@OsirisDiamonds had a more in depth question I send through the link in your website. I was just curious if you feel the same about lab grown diamonds now that there are some rare ones out there on Clear Origins and James Allen with GIA certs.
I would say this. 99% are IGI. If there are some GIA certs it’s for sure a plus. But my focus would be cut. Not GIA with labs. GIA is more critical when buying natural because being off a grade on color and clarity can be thousands of dollars in a natural. It’s basically priced the same with labs.
@@OsirisDiamonds Much Appreciated! The one I went with was GIA and it was 1.37 car. D color VVS2 clarity with excellent cut. For a comparable IGI from James Allen there were some of similar carrot but they more expensive with their ideal and true hearts cut ratings but I wasn't sure if that was worth the extra money. Really appreciate the replies, they are truly valuable advice and wanted you to know that you going out of your way to answer cant be thanked enough!

thank you for making these vids, I am looking for an engagement ring but really feel pain paying so much for carbon. It will mean a lot for her and she's not picky but I want to find the best stone and ring for the money and this is very helpful
Yes my friend, damn DeBeers and their brilliant marketing campaign. It's all about making them happy. Glad the information helped you.
I went to a retail store and asked to see some diamonds. He showed me about 10 of them ranging from $2,000 to $41,000. I asked him if they are certified diamonds and he said yes. I asked which is GIA and he said he thinks the $41,000 is the only one but can't be for sure and would need to check. I left shortly after I heard that.
Exactly, scam scam scam. Stay away! Smart man for walking away.
@@OsirisDiamonds where is the best places to buy a Gia certfied diamond engagement ring lowest possible price to a consumer is online buying the best place to buy high quality engagement ring Gia certfied diamond are there any online stores who have stores are there any large stores in the new york area that are better are the luxury brand diamond engagement rings any better osiris to you help people with purchasing a high quality engagement ring for the lowest price are most retailers more expensive than online like James Allen or blue Nile or rare carrot or others is there a contact number for you osiris I find all your videos very educational and very informative before considering any purchase for my girlfriends engagement ring please give me your contact information osiris thanks
Years ago I bought an EGLcertified "I" color. When compared to a GIA "I" diamond there was a very visible difference.
Ever since then, I have only bought GIA "F" and "E". Big difference and they go up in value :)
Yeah EGL is terrible, easily 2 shades off.
Excellent
Question....after buying an engagement ring from James Allen should my husband get an appraisal if so is it okay to leave it with them? I heard you should never do that but it’s pretty hard to find anyone here in Florida.....God how I miss New York (we moved down 2016)
love u bro for putting me on game
And look at its girdle to check out its cut . Not just the crown, table and pavilion.
I am a baby to this business and I learned a lot from your videos. You’re Dropping ‘Jewels’ man 🙌🏾...I was thinking about travelling to India to buy diamonds directly from the manufacturer. Is it worth it or is it better to ship them instead?
Thank you brother. Dropping Jewels indeed :) Thanks for commenting. It's hard to say if you will ever find the wholesale level pricing traveling there. The people in the industry know the value in what they have and they dont give it away. If you have a connect go for it.
Amazing video ! Please continue to teach us !
Hello from HKG
Thanks for appreciating what I do.
thank you
I looked like an expert with this info. My future fiance trusts my taste and knowledge. Thank you!
Thanks for the great information. I recently came across a website called “VRAI” that seems to sell GIA certified lab-created diamonds. Have you heard of them? Any opinion on the diamonds they sell there?
Thanks for sharing! I dont love their site and form of diamond viewing. They dont use official company certs they have an in house diamond expert who grades the diamonds, NOT an official GIA cert.. Some complain of grayish diamond which can be due to the method of lab creation. For those reasons I dont really use them.
Thank You so much for your video and so much information about diamond we don’t know and we should learn, can I please send you pictures of the Gia certificate of the stone I want to buy but only after you check for me if the GIA certificate is real and good deal
Hey osiris! I bought a GIA certified 0.23 carat, round brilliant, H, VVS2, with excellent cut & polish & symmetry, fair fluorescence, pinpoint clarity characteristics, engagement ring for $1,200 dollars. Is it worth it? Thanks! Will wait for your answer
Could you make a video on (( true heart cut vs triple ideal cut )) does it differ and worth spending the money special if we care abt the sparkles of the diamond.. and we need a video on ( how to get the most sparkly diamond affordably))
Thanks for commenting. I have some guides on my site that help narrow the gap. True hearts does have an advantage in cut but if you narrow down the premium ideal settings it closes the gap and only makes it marginally different. Keep in mind the diamond game is one of slights. You pay premiums for slight improvements. Just because GIA says excellent cut doesn't mean there isnt a wide margin within the realm of "excellent".
What are your thoughts on GCAL certification for Lab Grown Diamonds?
Hi, thanks for the video and all the help you provide! I am currently looking at a lab grown diamond (IGI certified) that is about one karat, ideal cut, I color and Sl1 clarity. Since IGI is one grade off, would it make sense to go up to H color and VS2 clarity and adjust the karat down to about 0.9 to ensure better quality?
You are very welcome, glad I have helped. That depends. Does it appear eye clean to you. If it is eye clean 20X magnified then you are good. If you are mounting white gold, then I would be nice so you should go H. If yellow gold you are good. Some people love their J color on white gold. One carat is pretty safe, 2-3 carats and you start seeing more color.
Hi Im learning alot from your videos. Would like to say thanks for the info! I inherited my Grandmothers marquis engagement ring probably from 1930' or earlier. I would like to find out more about it.I would love for you to see it I can send a picture and maybe get some advise on how to value. Thank you once again!
Thanks. Do you prefer james allen, blue nile, or brilliant earth if the diamond on all 3 is gia cert'd? I know not all diamonds on any of them are gia but i wont touch anything that isnt. Been on BE for months looking and researching but found what appears to be a winner on JA because they have a particular setting BE does not have.
My two favs are James Allen and Bluenile. They have the best pricing/value in my opinion. I have some tips articles on my site for each of them - www.diamondcityonline.com
Ty sir
You are quite welcome!
@@OsirisDiamonds when I'm ready sir would you be available for private contract to locate all parts, pieces and assembly of commissioned design[s] exclusively, Is this something you do?
What about Tiffany Diamond Certificate? I know there is a high premium because of the brand, but I would like to ask you how does it compare against the ones discussed here. According to them it come with guaranteed grade lifetime which others incl GIA doesn't... any thoughts? BTW thank you for this excellent video.
Thank you. If you think about it, what is a lifetime guarantee mean for a diamond. Its not electronics, its one of the hardest stones around. Tiffany is a massive premium, you can easily find premium cuts online for a fraction of the cost. You ay for the retail white glove experience. Take a look at this prefiltered list I created that will help narrow down only premium cuts- www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/all-diamonds/?Color=G,F,E,D&Cut=Ideal,TrueHearts&Clarity=VS1,VVS2,VVS1,IF,FL&Polish=EX&Symmetry=EX&Lab=GIA,AGS&Flour=None,Faint,Medium&DepthFrom=46.0&DepthTo=62.2&TableFrom=50.0&TableTo=56.1?a_aid=5a73fd85d5e0d
Hey man! I'm about to buy a ring. I searched far and wide and I finally felt like I found the deal of a century. Unfortunately, I see that the diamond I am looking at buying is igi certified. It is a lab grown diamond which I am totally ok with. From my naked eye it looks beautiful in the super bright store. I'm just afraid it is not a "great deal" like I imagined. Could I email you and go into more detail?
Hi Osiris , I just wondering about this offer to me a 7ct EC F-VS2. IGI certificate. Could you give me some info / advice from you ? Indeed we are searching for dia lab grown . Txs
Hi! I was wondering if you know anything about the website VRAI and if the diamonds they sell are legit??
So where can I buy the price you are talking about? I lost my rings last month.
I recently purchased a lab grown diamond:

Girdle Thick Med,
Girdle % N/A
Its a IGI certified. Could you please tell me how much its worth?
is CGL certification good? It seems like it's a reputable lab in the Japanese market. How does that compare to GIA in the US market?
Thanks for the useful information.
I want your opinion about a Gia diamond, which’s 20ct D FL, how much does it worth in your opinion🧐
Hi Salman, thats a collectors piece and it can be worth whatever value they give and whatever price someone is willing to pay. Normal pricing doesn't apply to a 20 carat piece if that makes sense.
Hey... what about other gems such as citrine or sapphire??? Is there any sort of certificate??
I have my rough diamond.location phillippines..and many of gemstone
Hi Osiris, have you heard of GCAL certification for lab grown? Is it reliable?
Currently only IGI is recommended.
Also when shopping-Basic tips- Take a loupe. Look at the stone in daylight.
Lab grown diamonds true hearts line from James Allen is where it is at. De Beers diamond market will be shaken at last.
How do I obtain a GIA or AGS replacement certificate for an inherited multi diamond dinner ring please? Do I contact the GIA lab in California or New York?
Hey Osiris, can you please tell me if GIA has lab in Dubai?
How bout GRA certificates for moissanites
Can you tell me anything about AGI certified lab diamonds?
I have a vintage ring from my grandmother for my daughter..it has a "AGS" laser marking inside the band writing is very small with a few numbers looks like 7 numbers maybe one of them is worn off hard to read what does that mean?
Thank you Guy!!!
Lookat U you are very welcome 😎
Lab grown diamond 5 carats VVS2 F for 15K but IGI cert. Take the deal or no?
Some diamonds no longer have the original GIA certification but rather a downloaded PDF copy of the report from GIA. When buying or selling, does it matter much if you don't have the original but rather the PDF report copy from GIA? Thanks.
It’s certainly not ideal but if it is certified and has it’s cert number laser engraved on the girdle that’s all that matters. If you ever sell it maybe you want to order a new cert. but the pdf along with matching laser inscription is good enough.
The more the consumers learn and know- the sooner we all stop being scammed. Because they won't be able to lie to us if we know what's good and bad
When buying a bracelet with various gemstones such as 5 sapphires, 4 rubys etc should that come with a seperate certificate for every gemstone?
Thanks for the comment, most bracelets dont come with certs.
Hello ive been looking at engagement rings at this company called liori diamonds they have 1 ring that is a f color vs1 clarity and its 3 ct lab grown is it a good one to get
But how do I find a diamond that is certified GIA and online? Are they brick and mortar stores or a small online business? I’m saying I don’t know where to shop. Thanks 😊🇨🇦
Hi! Would you recommend HRD antwerp certified diamonds?
Hi and thanks for the comment. No I wouldn't recommend them. GIA and AGS only for natural.
The chart was too complex for me. Lolol!! I do not recommend anyone getting an SI2 stone. I had a 1.5 F color oval SI2, and with the naked eye yes I could see it. It becomes more in the middle the carbon. Love these video!
Dammit, why did I have to go showing off like that! Next time I will simply my graphs. Yes, SI2 diamonds can be very tricky and have to be considered on a very limited case by case basis. I love me some SI1's.
So helpful! I am buying a lab diamond and it’s IGI certified. I sent over an email! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
1)ags is off on the color grade 2)Gia started certified lab grown diamonds (the certification are digital)
I bought as GIA certificate lab grown a few weeks ago. H VVS2. I looked up the number on the GIA website and it brought the certificate up. How do I know if it’s real or fake?
I just purchased a pretty rare diamond - AGS certified - VVS1 “just under flawless - G color - 1 carat - 8K - What’re your thoughts? I went to James Allen website and they didn’t have anything better unless I went GIA certified.
Sounds amazing! Well played Devin.
hi sir, I buy some diamond in the gold souck in dubai what do you thing about it ?
Please help; I wanna buy a engagement ring for my future wife but I want a natural diamond. You recommend Bluenile for that?????? And I have a price point of about 5k-7k I wanna spend. What do you recommend??? Thanx!!!
Of course, yes love bluenile. please email me infodiamondcity@gmail.com
What does it mean to have a GIA certificate and say colour treated? Does that mean the natural diamond does not have as much value?
This is very important.. but i don't now inglis.. please in spanish.
I got a necklace as a gift my friend passed away. I took the diamond out and tried testing it at home. It doesn't float, I cant see lettering under it, It scratches glass and on my tester shows up red. Its a yellow but looks kind of green/ blue but do you think it's a diamond or moissanite? I don't want to pay to get it tested if it's not a diamond.
Very hard to give you an accurate answer without it being in my hand. If the goal is to sell it then I would an appraisal from a local store. If its just for curiosity, you wont really know until a pro can confirm. The green blue color is certainly throwing me off.
What about lab diamonds? Is it crucial to get a certified diamond?
It makes sense to always get certified. So you know the specs of the diamond.
What do you think for 1.5 carat. Color I. Clarity SI2 at 9k.. GIA certified. thnks bro.
I bought .85 CT ,vvs-vs clarity IGI certificate diamond with color G-H for 4 k . Is it worth it's price.
Gia vs gra can you make a video about it
Please help, interesting in 2.5 ct G color VVS1, strong florences, GIA certified with inscription#…$35k..what are you thought on that…please help!
Hello. I'm in the market to buy a 1c loose diamond.im looking to spend 4500-5k for it. Can you help ?
Can you haggle a lab diamond because it's igi.
When you buy a diamond from online . Is there someone I can take it to to confirm the Cs
You can't haggle online. Online is cheap because its a razor thin margin. The price is the price. You can spend money to get it GIA certified. I wouldn't. Its going to be off a grade. Dont pay extra just to find that out. Just buy with the knowledge its off one grade in clarity and color.
How about CGL certificates?
Where do u go then to buy
