    One small correction at 5:25, on a compound radius, there is LESS radius as you travel up the neck towards the body. The 14” radius at the heel is actually flatter than 10” at the nut. Info for the newer players that think a larger radius means more curvature. You may have meant that, but just clarifying so that anyone listening who doesn’t understand how a neck’s radius is determined isn’t confused. Nice playing 👍

    Great review, thanks. I have a Reverend Eastsider T, their T-Style. Seriously considering those pups. Your review has probably pushed the button (see what I did there?). Blucifer is the name locals gave to the blue mustang, with hot red eyes, that rears in majesty in front of the Denver International Airport. Greg Koch spends a lot of time in Louisville, just north of Denver. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. ;)

      Thanks! The batteries are rechargeable. I’m not sure if you mean when they die the first time, or when you’ve recharged them a thousand times and they finally die completely. I’m not sure about the second scenario- I can look into that though- just let me know! Also I’m not 100% sure on how the guitar behaves when the battery is depleted. Dan Favata I have an American tele and honesty have picked a Reverend Pete Anderson model over it for studio use multiple times. To each his own! I do love a good Fender though. Just different animals. Reverend has its own thing going on for sure. Sonically, visually, and feature set. Stock models that come with locking tuners, treble bleed volume pots, bonite nut, roasted maple neck... the list goes on. Hard to beat! But I respect a faithful Fender fan too! Rock on my dude 🤘🏻

      Dan Favata My reverends have basically replaced my American fenders. Just my taste. But the Eastsider build quality and features are just.. better. The stock features of the Eastsider would have to be upgrades you do yourself on a US tele, unless you shell out ~2 grand

    The vintage style bridges should be standard in all new teles.. it’s a way better sound. It’s night and day. I was shocked when I put a Wilkinson bridge in and the sustain increased, tuning, and overall spank you want from a tele. A lot of times mods can be subtle but not this one

    • @MasonMusicRocks
      @MasonMusicRocks  4 роки тому

      Interesting! I'm such not a modder, but I may think about that for my personal tele - was there a change in the tone as well, or more of the function and responsiveness like you described?

      TBH - this is not my personal amp, so I may have err'ed on the side of warm over bright. I'm not a bitey gritty in your face tele player myself, so yeah. The guitar certainly puts out plenty of high end sizzle though.

    Received one from zzounds in pow red. Neck was unplayable. Sharp fret edges. Edge of the neck was sharp and felt rough. Not rounded off at all. The pickups are ok but you can tell that
    they are active and trying to imitate true single coil. Did not bother to try another one as Reverend sends a card with signatures saying they inspected all of this before it leaves their workshop. Overall was highly dissatisfied with the guitar at this price point.

    • @MasonMusicRocks
      @MasonMusicRocks  4 роки тому

      dusty mcmanus wow I’m so surprised to hear this! Honestly that’s the first time we’ve heard anyone complain about QC. Were you able to return it? Reverend is the kind of folks who would want to know so they can make it right.
      Funny enough I saw a demo video of an orange amp the other day where a guy was using a fender tele but he had replaced the pickups with the Greg Koch signature pups from fishman (what’s in this guitar too) so I guess everyone’s ears and tastes are different. I hope you can get something that works better for you!
