Greg is a flicking guitar God. All the little nuances that he squeezes out of the guitar is amazing. He is the definition of the tone is in your hands.
Greg really is an amazing player. There are a lot of amazing players out there but I actually get inspired when I watch Greg play. He is so well rounded and versatile in many different styles.
Ah....Fellow Mansquatches. Again you tempt me to the apex of my limits of control. The need to acquire a Gristlemaster is strong with this one. Satin black with maple neck and board, if you would be so kind..! String it up with 11's, a black leather strap of proportions suitable to a mansquatch, and ship it...!! Damn, I gotta get me one of those..!
When can i see em at sweetwater? Im a poor guy with needs of owning this with a 3 payment plan!! Lol seriously been holding off on other tele guitars because of this
OMG... Greg Koch (Kalk, rhymes with Chalk) is amazing and sounded so much like Jimi (Hendrix) in the intro, bejesus! Lovin’ the (Joe) Zawinul skullcap, too!
I REALLY wish there was no pickup bezel of the neck pickup. To me, that's the only thing from making that guitar PERFECT. But love Gregory Kochory so damn much I may have to buy one anyway.
Comment "failed to post"? I wanted to know the thickness and width of these necks at the 1st and 12 frets. And also for the black one which I think he said in another video was modeled after his '56 tele. Thanks.
I like the look of it, even the neck pickup, it makes me think of Chet Atkins. I was wondering about the pau ferro, does it have enough density to get the spanky party feel.
Well impressed with the guitars....look cool sound good...I did read somewhere that these guitars are handbuilt with no use of CNC machines....if that's the case then these are well worth the money.....
Wildwood did have 5 black ones with a little fatter neck profile(Koch custom) but they're gone now(as of 12/9)...as for me, I was able to get one. A little more 'meat' to the neck than the 'standard' Reverend profile for this model. All I can say is that for the money, these guitars are an incredible value...the Fishman/Koch pickup system is fabulous...dead silent, they play like a dream, smooth/fast. Reverend Rules~!
So that Kochwork Orange Gristlemaster in Ken Haas’ hand there - the one with the dark maple fingerboard and clay dot markers? That’s my guitar right there. Please let me have it back?😘😂❤️
When you open up the case of a Gristlemaster there is an audible "Shpoing" sound that lets you know you have arrived at "Malfunction Junction" turn knobs on amp to 11 and commence............
Greg learned to speak in the manner he does because of hearing and emulating his elders, such as myself. We were being cool before he was born :) @@justinlangley9529
Great guitars but I wonder how long the battery will last in the fishman fluence system? Not in terms of playing time but in terms of overall longevity. Batteries always start to fail.
Anyone know how bad/good the single coil hum is on these guitars? Im super interested. I was thinking of going with an American Performer Tele, but I was going to have to immediately install locking tuners and noiseless pickups on one of those. I cant play regular single coils at my church because of the noise. Something with the wiring and lighting we have.... if these Fishman pups are quiet enough I may have to just go with the Reverend.
After all these years, I've found that if you affect a British accent when saying "Koch", it's much easier to say correctly. You catch some weird looks, but it works!
Blucifer looks killer. I do however thing the neck pickup plastic bit should also come in black. The white looks great on the Blucifer or Pow Yellow finishes but I think black would look better on stuff like the Wow Red and colors in the video. Huge props to Reverend on not attempting to cling onto rosewood like cork sniffers everywhere and embracing pau ferro.
That Intro sounds like you are trying to pass a leftover hot 5 pepper burrito pizza with xtra cheese while you are struggling with internal and external hemorrhoids and suffering with a strangulated hernia. Just Awesome.
Just one thing to ask, Greg, you being of the Deuchlander persuasion: why not make your new color reflect that Germanic influence & call it KochWERK Orange? Seriously, your signature axe is the bee's knees, the cat's meow, the epitome of tele-dom, with your signature Gristletone p'ups. Might I also add that the Greg amp totally rounds out the ensemble? It's a probably a good thing you stopped there, otherwise, if there were any more Gristley products, our heads would likely explode from the intensity of your tone... I won't even mention your playing...if I was able to live & play another lifetime or two, I MIGHT be able to get somewhere in the neighborhood of your caliber of expertise.
Since the pickups are rechargeable and the charging port is by the input jack, how do you know when it's running low on juice and needs to be recharged again? I'm super interested in this guitar. Also, is the paint nitro or poly of some kind?
Placing a metal surround around a single coil pickup acts like a shorted turn. Currents are induced in it which generate a magnetic field in opposition to the fluctuating field from the string and this sucks high end presence out of the sound. This effect can be reduced by using less conductive metals, making the plate thinner and most effectively by making a cut through the plate to break the circuit. The bridge pickup on a Tele is affected (and the effect is measurable) but the Tele bridge plate is quite thin and it is made of steel which has a relatively high resistance. The thicker brass or aluminium bridge plates generally don't sound good.
Is there some copyright problem that Greg can't say Telecaster? He refers to T style or this body shape. I like his pickups so these are nice guitars. Orange is cool. I have a Strat, S style, with a roasted maple neck and like it.
I would dig a cheaper version with cheaper pickups. Also, since you are using that neck pickup cover, why not have it routed for different pickups with different plastic covers to accomodate those different pickups......this way you can try different flavors of pickups in a easy way, easy on the eye too.
GuitAural they used to be, but was completely different in terms of design. The fact Reverend is made in Korea is irrelevant. They’d have to charge at least twice as much to be USA made now, which isn’t their style.
@@Wells306 They used to be Made in USA? Thought they always just QC'ed them over here. Props to Fender/Gibson/Suhr/PRS and the commitment to US manufacturing. I have no problem saving up and paying more...
Nice. We covered the song that put his kids through college. I can't actually play one of these though, because I'm like two feet shorter than these guys. It'd be like a midget playing a dreadnought.

Kochwork Orange - I like what you did there :)

I think he is the BEST EVER. No one plays with as much wit, humor, and virtuosity.
He is absolutely one of a kind. Such a pure joy to watch him play. Honestly.
Bb king
I've been playing Tele's for 30 years and LOVED this guitar when I played one!! Cheers Greg and Ken!!
Making these a tad bigger for us giant guys is brilliant. Thank you To Reverend for this.
Killer guitar.. Reverend knocked it out of the park
Super cool ideas and sounds in these guitars
The coolest looking take on a T-Style guitar!
Yeeeeeeah!!!!!! Congratulations!!!
More of these guys. Even when speaking they are riffing off each other. Great combo of characters!
Amazing t- sounding guitar fellas!
That orange color is amazing 🤩
STILL needing to try out a gristle! This Kochwork orange is lovely good
I got to meet these guys at a Reverend guitar clinic years ago. My neck hurt from looking up all the time. Guys are tall!
Man - Kochwork Orange is the perfect name for that.

do not tempt me with perilous visions, child. or it WILL be the end of the green....
Beautiful guitar! I dig it
Great stuff ...great move ...great Tele ...sweet
Awesome! I want one!
I'm pretty sure there aren't any words to properly convey how awesome this video is.
I really like the new headstock shape.
Hard to believe I will see Mr Koch in the UK next week....can’t wait!
When can i see em at sweetwater? Im a poor guy with needs of owning this with a 3 payment plan!! Lol seriously been holding off on other tele guitars because of this
I’d buy this guitar purely for the jokes I could make on a daily basis about getting my Koch out for a play!
And plug my Koch into my Koch amp. Gawd.
I’m 5’8”....tuning out now....
OMG... Greg Koch (Kalk, rhymes with Chalk) is amazing and sounded so much like Jimi (Hendrix) in the intro, bejesus! Lovin’ the (Joe) Zawinul skullcap, too!
Sensational tone!!! Great playing!!!
Ah the Reverend Greg Koch, delivering salvation!
Love Reverends...Love Ken...Love Wildwood and their staff...and Greg is ok too....”Gristle On”!
Griddle gold!!!!! I need a goldtop
What a hilarious odd couple!
Those phrases in start are filthy. Greg is fuckn absolutely sick. Incredible unique feel! He's inspiring
Love it.
Nothin better than Greg "The Gristle Missile" Koch wielding his Gristlemaster.
I REALLY wish there was no pickup bezel of the neck pickup. To me, that's the only thing from making that guitar PERFECT. But love Gregory Kochory so damn much I may have to buy one anyway.
look at all those glorious Kochs...
I met Greg once and I certainly am a "diminutive individual" next to him by a long shot!
My next band: Crimson Strumpet

Missed opportunity! Should have played "a bit of the old Ludwig van"
the best looking telecaster in the world.

its Greg; The Gristelmaster, The Koch Greg...its wall to wall Koch!!
Doesn't B3 do the raised center similar to a Firebird on a T style guitar? I thought that was their thing.
I think it’s called the Phoenix.
"It rhymes with chalk.... Damn it." Classic 🤣
With that binding would love a black model.

I'm sorry that I missed Greg's ordination! It must have been quite a party!
PLEASE kind sirs. I'll take a black Gristlemaster 290 as soon as available....does it HAVE to have the bigsby?
WILDWOOD: Which is more warm sounding, Roasted Maple or Pau Ferro?
Pau ferro, at least theoretically
So that Kochwork Orange Gristlemaster in Ken Haas’ hand there - the one with the dark maple fingerboard and clay dot markers? That’s my guitar right there.

Will it fit in a standard Tele gig bag?
GODDAMN GREG IS SUCH A KILLER PLAYER!!!!!
I literally just bought one in "Wow Red". Cant wait to get my paws on that bad boy
How do you like it?

When will they be in stock ?
Does the larger body mean more weight than a standard tele?

Thanks for the info Terry. I'm thinking about fabricating one myself. What type of metal and thickness would you suggest?

Yes, that’s why ever maker except fender doesn’t call theirs a Telecaster. They’re all T-Styles or any other name.
Cool headstock! Maybe the best that isn't tele or strat!
Ken's the only other guy I've seen that can make a guitar look as small as Greg does.
Howling Wolf made a guitar look like a ukulele!
I'd like to see Greg try out a K-Line Truxton. I have one. Amazing guitars
Never heard of those. I definitely want to check one out!
Is Greg going straight into the amp?
4:34
Crossing fingers for a lefty.....do they exist?
Greg should start doing stand up lol
SO WHAT DO THESE SALE FOR ?
It's pretty close to Tennessee 🍊
Ken Haas! Gristleman!
one has black dots and the other has clay dots. which one is standard?
Jay&Dee clay on rosewood, black on maple

HOLY SHYTE...A GUITAR that FITS ME????????
To my ears this sounds pretty loud.
How about listing the decibel level

I don't want the guitar but I still enjoyed this discussion☺️

When I hear "Reverend" guitars, I can;t help but think Billy Gibbons just has to be involved !!
It's probably rev. Jesse Jackson!!
Got it.....try a DiMarzio tone zone in the bridge.....have it set up that way in my parts telecaster ......same tone at a third of the price.......
Volunteer Orange!
Aaahhhh what is thaaaaaat, a new pick up, oooahhh...........
Beg my pardon. My guitar has a Pau Ferro fingerboard, not dark maple.
Just give it back, ok?😆😘
Even after I get my GRistlemaster I still won't be able to grip the guitar as effortlessly as G. Koch with those branch sized fingers. 😔
Greg Koch has lost his mind. Good thing, too. It just gets in the way of great playing!
“Unobtainium Orange”!!!
Nice. We covered the song that put his kids through college.
I can't actually play one of these though, because I'm like two feet shorter than these guys. It'd be like a midget playing a dreadnought.
I like the plastic pickup ring better anyway.
Gristlemeister, surely
