Some Tips to help out :)
Scout: You can use the double jump to confuse the people you're killing by making them make camera switches quickly and not hitting you as easily.
Soldier: You need to predict your shots and even aim a the ground if you aren't confident in hitting them head on. You can also rocket jump by doing, jump + crouch, while shooting the ground. Though without using the rocket jumper this will hurt you a decent amount.
Pyro: You cannot be set on fire, THIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T TAKE DAMAGE FROM ALL FIRE SOURCES. Just that when you get hit with a fire attack you will not take the tick damage. While holding the flamethrower if you right click while rockets or grenades are coming at you, they will DEFLECT! This can be preformed for some satisfying tricks and give the feel of being a pro player, on the down side it takes 20 of your 200 flamethrower fuel. You can also push people off cliffs which is amazingly funny. DO NOT RELY ON YOUR LITTLE TO NO SKILL IN DEFLECTING, that was an insult but you are knew so it's not rare to you I'm sure. (Hopefully)
Demoman: ahhhh yes, the drunk Scottish man of Scotland... my personal favorite because you can shoot your grenades to bounce off walls and when hitting a direct hit with them, they deal around 100 dmg or so while also causing some knockback. His Secondary "Sticky Bomb Launcher" is the thing that other demo using to blow you up when walking out of spawn. You can plant them and when hitting right click at any point with any of his guns out, as long as you haven't died since you planted them, they will blow up... all of them... at once... dealing TONS of damage at once, they have decent splash damage and cannot be placed on people.
Heavy: Slow but powerful Russian, this guy deals LOADS of damage with close and medium range, his 300 health makes him a hassle to deal with and a problem. Paired with a medic only a team effort or a target on the medic will kill this beast of a man.
Engineer: This mighty Texan can build so many useful necessities of killing. You can build a sentry with your metal costing around 130 of your 200 metal if I'm not mistakes. Ammo packs and dispensers (I ill talk about later) Can refill your metal. You can upgrade each building a maximum of 2 times, the first upgrade to the sentry gun can increase attack speed of it and the health. The third and final upgrade to it adds a powerful quad-missel launcher to the top of it. You do need to refill it's ammo with metal every once in a while though. You can also heal it by smashing it with your wrench refilling ammo first, then health or the other way around. Then the dispenser, takes a bit to set up but once it's up your entire team will thank you. To speed this and the other buildings up you can hit it with your wrench providing a build speed boost building it faster costing no metal until it is upgradeable. This can also be upgraded twice as everything else. Nothing changes in it besides its improved restock speed and healing speed. Yes that's right, this support machine can heal and grant you ammo (including metal) which is super important so they don't have to heal at the spawn room. Finally the teleporter. You can only enter through the entrance, not the exit. so build the entrance near your teams spawn, and if the spawn moves the simply right click on any building and then you will carry it. If you carry it you will lose it when you die, you cannot attack when you are carrying any building. When you place a carried building down, they will have to be set up again. THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO RE-UPGRADE THEM. Just that they will take some time to get to their normal state that they were upgraded in. You can't place buildings in spawn or on un-even terrain. You cannot walk through them and neither can the enemy, only your team can (Excluding the teleporter which you just automatically walk up).
Medic: Crusader's Crossbow is the best primary, don't use syringe gun. BUT if you are forced to then here re some tips. First, aim a lot up, these bullets fall fast, they do minimal dmg and are very slow projectiles and aren't very good, though they do heal your teammates, not by a lot. for the medigun you can build UBER by healing your team UBER charges faster when you heal them or give them over heal, If they are full HP them uber will still charge, just slower. When you are at 100% UBER your character will anounce "I AM FULLY CHARGED!" Then with the medigun out right click, you and the person you are healing will become invincible for 8 seconds. (That's why you couldn't deal damage in the training area to the shiny red medics/soldiers) A similar effect will be put on you. UBER is only in effect when your medigun is out, even holstered the 8 second timer will still count down. If you use UBER while not healing anyone, the same effect gets put on you for those 8 seconds. Though while UBERing someone you can swap through people, so if you see someone about to die, charge them to make them invincible. USE THIS ABILITY SPARINGLY!!!
Sniper: While scoped in the CHARGE will build up, you do not have to stand still for it to be in effect. While the CHARGE meter is charging the damage (Body shot or Headshot) will increase. If you un-scope the charge will reset to 0 having to wait a few seconds scoped in to deal maximum damage. His SMG is EXTREAMLY close ranged base and should be used if you are just out of melee range.
Spy: Oh my lord I have been waiting to tell you how this guy works. When you are behind someone with the knife, your character will hold it differently, you'll know when he does, when he does this, you can click to instantly kill whoever this misfortune may fall upon. THIS CANNOT ONE SHOT UBERED PEOPLE. Cloaking, while cloaked, the watch with the blue lines on your left hand displays how much time you have left before you decloak making a huge sound when you do it. So best not to be near non-deaf people while decloaking. Disguises, While having the disguise kit out you can press any number 1-9 to cloak as one of the 9 classes on their team. While cloaked it will not get rid of your disguise. You cannot shoot while cloaked but you can shoot while disguised BUT, BIG BUT HERE. It WILL GET RID OF YOUR DISGUISE. This includes backstabbing (Stabbing while it one shots).
Some basic things. In the spawn room the cupboard, if you walk up to it then it will restock health and ammo. Enemies cannot enter your spawn but can shoot into it if the door is open. When being healed by medics their health and UBER charge is displayed this is very important as your medic is very important to you, so if their health starts going down then you can turn around and kill whatever is killing them.

Noah, you should enable fast weapon switching in the Keyboard tab in options so you can switch weapons faster.
And you should enable fast Benches

Ah yes, the fast weapon switch, that lets you switch weapons faster. This floor is made up of so much floor.
If you hate reloading manually there is a setting for that, in Advanced Settings. But if you enable Fast Weapon Switch (VERY USEFUL!) Your Q and 1,2,3 will autoswitch to that weapon very fast! And if you ever want to see some very fun gameplay you should check out the Skial community servers!
One thing, if you become a scout main, your job is no longer to kill, it is to pester the enemy so much they die of sodium poisoning

Also, you'll wanna go into options and advanced options, there are a few settings that honestly should be default. Fast weapon switch, FOV, some class specific stuff, and some commands in console like viewmodel_fov 85 (or whatever number is comfortable)
Noah, if you think TF2 feels like crap to play, you need to make some adjustments to it. Put -novid in the properties menu to skip the Valve logo, enable quick switch speed in the ingame advanced settings, uncheck automatic reload which makes partially emptied clips reload, check hitsounds, check display damage as text, check medigun continues healing (for Medic), check display marker over head (Medic), check injured teammate auto call Medic, and maybe look into master comfig which there is a Discord for.
Relax, after that is all done, your experience is greatly enhanced.

As a demo main i have a quite important tip, do NOT get tunnel vision waiting for someone walking into a sticky trap. High skill demomen will predict how long it takes for a class to get through a corridor and detonate then.

The shotgun's great. you were shooting a soldier who was constantly being healed, and you were mid range. Damage drop off exists in this game.
Every class in this game has counters. The engie counters scouts best, as their speed is meaningless against a senty's aimbot. Engies are countered by spies who can sap buildings, demos who fire over props and walls, and soft countered by soldiers who can hit them outside of the sentry's range.

Couple of Tips: when playing Spy use your disguise kit. It is possible to communicate with your team but for new accounts you have to pay $5 to access it. This was put in place to prevent body counts from mic spamming hateful stuff. You can unlock weapons just by playing the game or completing achievements. In the options for the keyboard, click advance and enable Developer Console and Fast Weapon switch. Press the button under the Esc key to enable the console. In the console type "Fov_desired 90" and "viewmodel_fov [any number higher than 54]".

I love when people used to low TTK games play literally anything else and get completely shocked when they can't instantly kill everyone by clicking on them
My advise as a tf2 player:
General Advice:
Play every class and try out all their stock weapons (their default) and watch Lazy Purple.
Never fight a group on your own.
Steer clear from projectiles that aren't bullets. They can hit you more easily due the large hit box that aim at.
Never bother with an enemy if there's a medic. Kill The Medic.
Shoot everyone. if they bleed, they are a spy who needs to die.
You can't escape a Sentry Gun unless you're a disguised spy or a cloaked Spy.
Class specific advise.
Scout
Move around as much as possible and behind as many things as possible.
Try jumping over your enemies. this freaks them the fuck out cause they dont normally look up to aim.
Avoid surfaces as much as possible when pvping soldier or demo. They have splash damage that is only active when you're near their explosive radius. Double jump helps with that.
Scout has the least amount of health. Be wary of that.
Scout's main thing is speed. Your power is to choose your battles. Know your environment and run when the battle isnt in your favour. Let someone else finish what you started.
Flanking is also good.
Never forget your pistol. Especially when you're scattering is empty.
NEVER GO NEAR SENTRIES. THEY HUNT CLASSES LIKE SCOUT.
Pyro (my favourite)
Never run in front of of a sentry. Bulkier than scout but not one for the sentry. Another prey to sentries.
Spy check everyone. Pyros are the natural predator of spies because they have an ability called "Afterburn" which causes visible lingering fire damage. So this is a dead giveaway for disguised spies. Just a little spritz of fire should do the trick.
Pyros can deflect projectiles. Missiles, pipe bombs, sticky bombs, even arrows of you're fast enough. Just right click and that should return the gift.
Never forget your shot gun. Best for combat outside your flamethorwer's range.
Your airblast (right mouse button) is good to extinguish teammates who are on fire.
Theres a neat trick where you can airblast someone's feet and they go directly upwards. So they can be confused and be consumed by your flames.
Protect your engineer's sentries. They're valuable and spies can sap them and run away to hide or kill your engineer.
Soldier: I dont really play this class.
Demoman
Use your stickies as traps and weapons. They have a delay for detonation. So keep a fair distance from the enemy team and that time should be spent as they're airborne. And then spam the fick out of right click to detonate. This works the best it's a group of enemies. Just dont die before you detonate. Cause than the stickies dont do shit.
Pipe bombs. use them and aim at the feet. They can be heard to miss so chuck them into groups.
If you see a demoman running towards you very fast. either side step out of the way or behind a wall. That's his charge and you're gonna get beheaded.
Stickies can detonate other stickies. Lay a bunch of stickies within the same blast radius and that creates field of death.
Stickies are also good for area denial. Just dont die.
aim for the sentries. they cant move unless the engineer is sewer slide all.
Heavy
He has the highest amount health but dont take this for granted.
Find higher ground. That's the best place a heavy can be. especially if theres cover.
Always check your back for spies and keep your back to the walls.
Medics are your best friend.
Close counter combat is your thing. Find a guy with average speed and mow em down. especially if it's a demoman or soldier. They do a lot of damage.
Stay out of sight where a sniper can shoot you. The headshots instant kills anyone. regardless of overheal.
Always look for health and ammo. you cant run out fast.
Press the right mouse button. That revs your gun and readies it for fire.
When you see a corner, jump and rev so you can be ready to mow down anyone around the corner.
Medic:
Heal everyone... okay there's a little more too it. if you wanna know who you should be healing. it should be the bulkier guys. heavy, soldier, demoman, and medic cause hes pretty important. the more medics the merrier.
Is that to say never heal the other class. NO. Heal everyone. But if you're gonna prioritize some folk, it would be the guys up front and have the most base health.
Engineer.
Dont forget you have a fucking shot gun.
remember the places that have ammo cause itll give you more metal.
Put dispensers on choke points a.k.a places where there are the most action. But never in plan sight. this works best in payload, control points, and attack/defend gamemodes.
Place teleporters to keep the pressure in the other team. Respawning time is slow but you can save time by teleporting. and keep it somewhere safe.
Look out for spies. If they sap your shit. kill the spy first and then safe your baby.
Keep sentries on high vantage points. Again, higher elevation means better chance of winning.
You have a pistol. use it
Sniper
You do best when no one knows where you are. so with every few kills. change up spots.
Be careful of spies and scouts. fuckers are sneaky. Your natural predators.
Charging up is always good. especially during firefights. you support you team by weakening the other team with hard direct shots.
Headshots. Either draw line across their head with your crosshairs and shoot or wait for them to walk into your cross hairs.
Kill the sentries and the engineers if you see them.
Unless you see a medic. then end him. biggest favour you can do for your team.
Spies
Cloak then get behind enemy lines and then disguise when no one can see or hear you. Decloaking is loud.
Find the sniper
Find the medic.
Sap the sentry.
And then backstab the engineer.
Back stabbing is your thing. just like how the sniper's is headshots, you got backstabs that insta kill. But doing so will remove your disguise and you cant do it when cloaked.
So once you do it. RUN.
Find a ledge or a wall. Cloak yourself and press your ass against it. this somehow makes you disappear. Even if they shoot in every direction they can think of. you're just gone to them.
You have a gun.
learn some trickstabs. Such as side stepping.
Stay away from pyros unless there is some nearby water.
You never speak as a spy. It is dead giveaway.
NEVER DISGUISE AS A SCOUT. THEY WILL SMELL YOUR SLOW ASS AND SHOOT YOU DOWN.
Backstab players who are distracted who are either a fight or doing something else. Like sniping or upgrading their shit.
Sap the sentry first.

there are TONS of different weapons in the game. a way to get weapons is to play games and something will appear when you pause the game. click on it and you get a random weapon. BUT, you could purchase literally one thing from the shop and get every single weapon in the game with unlimited inventory space. your choice

Ive been playing for 8 years, 4.5K hrs now. My top tip would be to adjust your settings. TF2's default settings are horrible. There are a lot of good videos and guides out there that will help you find the right settings.
Also you complained about the respawn times a bit but I think you are overlooking the value that there is there. While you are waiting it gives you a chance to learn from watching/spectating other people play. You will be surprised at how much and what you can learn from watching others. You will learn what to do, what not to do, not to mention all the funny moments you can witness.

Hey Noah love ur videos I'm overjoyed your playing one of my favorite shooter games I have 80 hours that may not sound like a lot but I got some tips to help: remember in dustbowl you were soldier and shotgunning a person but they weren't dying well he was being a healed by a medic the entire time essentially making him invincible but this doesn't mean you can counter him use your rocket launcher to knock both them back and kill the medic first. Engineer tip: engineer is my main and I enjoy him a lot I recommend watching a very well known tf2 youtuber uncle dane he is extremely good at the engineer anything I can say about engineer uncle dane does it simpler faster and better also bonus tip the soldier rocket launcher is not WEAK it is very strong. Pyro tip your right click better known as "airblast" can deflect rockets from soldiers and pipe and sticky grenades from the demo man. Sentry nest tip: in dustbowl you were getting stuck by some engineers sentries a very effective way to deal with it is to use demoman whether it be stick bombs or pipe grenades make sure you have a medic though. Heavy tip: while revving up your mini gun around a corner jump and Rev your mini gun as this can surprise your enemy and in this game there are unlockable weapons some being side grades downgrades or upgrades most weapons though will be sidegrades but watch a video to see which unlockable weapons are good and equal to your stock weapon. Bonus tip: when your weapons look like its electrified it means you have critical hits which does x 3 damage ways to get these are from a "kritzkrieg" medic the kritskrieg when fully charged does not make you invincible like it stock counterpart instead it gives you critical hits for 8 seconds I think. That's all I got for now hope these tips help and I'm overjoyed your playing tf2 I also forgot be VERY OBSERVANT to everything whether it be to spies or projectiles to sound cues this will help to a very high degree!
Before you play on public servers, I’d recommend playing on these 2 things first which are “tutorial” and “developer commentary” with captions turned on in the options. You can also play tf2 exactly the same as how it was on the release year by playing it on this game bundle pack called “The Orange Box” for Xbox 360 since it never got updated for 16 years unlike the pc version. You can also play the 2006 beta by playing this mod called Pre Fortress 2.
If u go behind enemies as the spy u can backstab them with the knife. Remember u cant backstab enemies when ur cloaked aka invisible. The backstab is a direct kill on enemies. But its only a direct kill if u go behind them

The point is that kills, and dying, actually matter a bit. If you wipe the other team you actually get time to do something.
Ubercharge is a charge ability for the medic that allows the medic to add invincibility to the person that they are healing and themsellfs
go to advanced settings and max out the viewmodel FOV, it makes the game feel a lot less claustrophobic and you can see more of your screen. If you want you can go past the regular max FOV by using console commands, you can figure that out yourself

Some Tips: Spy has a disguise kit that allows him to disguise as an enemy, to change what weapon you appear to be holding redisguise as the same class while holding the weapon in a certain slot. Scout can double jump and his gimmick is he's very weak past mid-range, but he's fast, allowing him to get up in your face, deal meatshots, and get quick kills. BIGGEST TIP: INCREASE FOV, VIEWMODEL FOV, AND ENABLE SMALL VIEWMODELS, THERE ARE VIDEOS ON HOW TO DO THIS, JUST LOOK UP HOW.
this game has over 100 maps across various gameodes. most are community made with valves dev tools for this game that are available online for free.

scout, sniper, spy, and engineer have 125 health. (by default)
pyro and demoman have 175 health (by default)
medic has 150 health
soldier has 200 health (by default)
heavy has 300 (by default)
Medics can provide temporary health buffs to any player on their team, bringing their health up to 150% of normal (temporarily)
Different loadouts can change a classes maximum health.
this game has heavy damage falloff at even short ranges for all classes except sniper.
very few weapons are full auto
Here is an exhaustive guide on how to play all the characters, it will take hours to master any one of these, they all have a massive skill ceiling, good luck!
--OFFENCE--
-Scout-
You have very good damage, very fast and you can double jump, however, you are extremely fragile.
-Soldier-
Most well rounded character, high health, slow speed. Shoot your feet after jumping to rocket jump, good crowd control.
-Pyro-
Most controversial character, medium health, medium speed, good crowd control. Right click to airblast; deflects projectiles, explosives and pushes away people. Spy’s worst enemy.
--DEFENCE--
-Demoman-
One of the hardest classes to master, high damage, medium speed, medium health, create traps with secondary and right click to trigger traps.
-Heavy-
Has a very low skill floor, making it good for beginners. Slow speed, most health, high damage. Hold right click to rev, left click to shoot.
-Engineer-
The most complicated class, but not a bad choice for beginners. Low health, medium speed, low damage. Sentries have aimbot and high damage, dispensers heal teammates, refill ammo and give you metal, teleporters get your teammates into the fight faster. Grab ammo boxes for metal. Right click buildings to pickup, hit buildings with wrench to upgrade.
--SUPPORT--
-Medic-
Another good beginner class, heal people to build Uber and overheal. Build Uber faster on non overhealed patients. Ubercharge grants invincibility.
-Sniper-
An ordinary sniper, low health, medium speed, very high damage. the longer you scope in, the more damage you deal. You are screwed if any enemy gets close to you, as your DMG is severely underpowered.
-Spy-
The hardest class to learn and master, not recommended for newbies. Stab people in the back to insta-kill, revolver deals decent damage, disguise as enemies (don’t run into the person you are disguised as), sap buildings with the sapper. Bumping into enemies will reveal you as the enemy, as you still collide with enemies when disguised. Pyros are your worst enemy.

If you're gonna go scout, try and use the scattergun to hit people up close for maximum damage, and use the pistol for longer range.
Soldier is all about prediction, predicting where your enemy will move to, considering they can easily dodge rockets, pyros can deflect your rockets so watch out for them, also you can lower your gun with "minimized viewmodel" in advanced options
You better be a very sneak and convincing actor to play spy effectively
You can play tf2 on an Xbox 360 controller. You can plug it in to your computer. You will have to type a command into the console. Solider is probably the most played class in the game, he is really fun to play, he is also really good. Stock rocket launcher is arguably his best rocket launcher. Scout is very fun to play make sure to use your double jump. The scatter gun is also arguably the best scout primary. You also don’t seem to have any unlockable weapons, you can choose to go to a community server that will give you all the achievement weapons. I can suggest that so maybe you can try other weapons. I suggest achievement engineer. There are many videos that can teach you how to do it.

You can turn quick weapon switching on in the advanced settings, where it makes it to where you only have to press a weapon button once instead of twice, also you get more weapons fro A. buying weapons, B. from random drops. Stranges and gold weapons dont do more damage they just track your kills. Pyro's airblast can reflect all projectiles exept bullets. Also dont kill the people that dont have any guns out/ actively attacking people, they are what we call friendlies. To be able to call for medic/ use in game voice chat you need to buy something from the shop, doing so will upgrade your account to premium and give you a cool new hat
If the enemy team coordinates to have multiple engineers build a "sentry nest" the counter is to have your team coordinate an ubercharge with a demoman to destroy the sentries, and then a rush.
Congrats on your first attempts. TF2 is a very different game compared to everything else in the market, so the learning curve can either be a smooth slope or a vertical line, so here's an in-depth guide.
Scout (the fast shottie boi) emphasizes fast, hit and run, in your face gameplay. The Scattergun can deal a devastating 100+ damage in what is known as "meatshot" hits or deal 9 damage because you were either too far or only a single pellet hit. Don't rely on always trying to get them since everyone (except Sniper and Medic) is better in close range. The double jump he has is a lifesaver for map traversal and general buzzing around. This makes him great for pestering classes like Soldier and Demoman that rely on pinpoint precision (Soldiers to a lesser extent), Heavies that need good tracking (otherwise you'll be the dead guy), and generally people that aren't looking at you (Snipers and Medics are prime targets). The pistol gives reliable mid-long range chip damage and is your best answer to Engineer's Sentry guns. Also, for finishing people off. The bat is solely for memes.
Soldier is way better than you think he is. Those rockets do have damage falloff, so getting as close as possible is the best course of action. Although that's rather hard to do since you're the second slowest class in the game... unless you perform a rocket jump. The BEST THING to do as Soldier. Simply jump + crouch at the same time, and immediately shoot a rocket at your feet. At the cost of some of your health, you'll be propelled at high velocity towards where the blast takes you. Takes time to properly learn, but VERY rewarding when mastered. Your prime targets are Engineers and their buildings, which go down to a couple of rockets, unassuming Medics and Snipers that don't know how to look up, and just about everything else. Pyros that know how to reflect are a bit of an issue, so your shotgun is a good way to deal with them. No melee.
Pyro is a jack of all trades that can almost never go too wrong. His flamethrower does good, sustained damage to anything in range and even deals DoT to those that survive, leading to some funny kills. Her right click is an airblast that pushes enemies back, extinguishes burning teammates (with extra health rewarded), and most importantly, reflects enemy projectiles right back at them. Like the other two classes, this skill takes time to learn, but just one good reflect can instantly destroy a man's career (and anyone around them). It's also immune to other Pyros' afterburn, so the shotgun is the best for dealing with them. Your targets are pesky Spies trying to shank your teammates (especially your Engineers), Soldiers and Demos that are a little too trigger happy, Scouts that don't understand the concept of space, and anything in your path (especially Medics). Don't challenge Heavies head on. No melee since gun better.

The default settings for this game is bad for modern standards. It is a lot to change, so if you have the time, then I recommend searching up a settings guide for TF2.
