Hello

The reaction when Kieran doesn’t realise it was a spy and assumes it was a teammate, priceless…
I thought spy will go on a kill streak on this
Literally me when I first played TF2 lol
“NOOO! I JUST KILLED MY TEAMMATE!”
Nothing cooler than watching someone experience something you love for the first time. Here's hoping you have a blast the next time, and I can't wait to see you experience everything the other classes have to offer as well. There's a little bit of something in TF2 for everyone.
Thank you I appreciate it! Next video I'll try out all the classes during a few rounds for some fun 😁
@@ChocolateKieran spy is hard, don’t commit if you don’t fully commit, pyro is dead easy to begin but hard to master, soldier is similar to pyro but you have to AIM, demo man is more of the type to lay traps and think about them rather than spam but spam can get kills, heavy you need good tracking and spy detection, medic needs good movement to dodge and stay near your target or targets, sniper needs aim and positioning, scout also needs aim but also need good movement, engineer is kinda simple to begin (build sentry level up, build dispenser level up) and yeah that’s all the classes from a kinda newbies perspective
@@tremateme6381 dayum
@@ChocolateKieran Please watch some beginner tf2 videos they really help and give you tips and tricks about classes. Such as that you can rocket jump as soldier.
Awesome
A common trick for spy checking: the enemy always has a solid collision box, while teammates do not. This means you can freely pass through any teammates model, but a spy disguised as a teammate will block your path. Also a good idea to listen for the sound a spy makes when decloaking nearby when you learn what that sounds like.
Lastly, if you thought THIS was chaotic, just wait until you play an online match and you finally see anything other than the default class weapons that the bots use.
yes walk at us spy mains please.
I am so happy you liked the game. I hope to see you in there more fellow mercenary!
Thank you homie! 😁

Wait, wrong game.
Super fun video! Some tips for you if you want to continue to get better at TF2:
1. Try to learn the general areas that medpacks are on each map you play. When below half health, try your best to get out of combat and heal up. Different sized medpacks heal different amounts, so keep that in mind based on how low on health you are.
2. Spies can be detected in many ways, but a few common ways include looking for A) teammates who are not shooting their weapons, B) duplicate teammates, and most importantly, C) any teammates that you cannot pass through when bumping into them.
3. TF2 is a much more casual, silly game than overwatch, so you'll likely see a lot more people being "friendly" (not fighting each other and just hanging out). Try to not kill these people, as it ruins the fun for a lot of friendlies.
4. (This one is VERY important) WATCH TF2 CONTENT ON UA-cam. There is so much that TF2's tutorial does not teach you, and TF2 never makes any effort to give this info to the player. This, along with the massive skill gap between new and experienced players, makes it very difficult to get into TF2. However, TF2 content can make up for this somewhat with its own tutorials. I'd recommend starting with Toofty's or Uncle Dane's videos, then seeing where the algorithm takes you from there.
Again, very entertaining video, keep it up!
And don't forget try all class
are you trying to manipulate him into becoming an engi main?
jk
This deserves a pin
Def good advice, big agree.
I'm afraid Gentlemen, that the only good friendly is a dead one. After a while they'll get angry and fight back.
Just as a suggestion: in the advanced options you can turn on auto-reload and anytime you aren’t firing you’ll start reloading. You can fire in the middle of the animation to cancel it if someone jumps you.
Oh, and personally I like turning on hit sounds because you get confirmation when you hit or kill an enemy
I myself have switched to manual reload, but for newer players, auto reload is always good. Tbh it’s preference, do whatcha want.
@@menacingpyro2005 I always forget to manually reload in the chaos so I use automatic reload
It's on by default
@@evdestroy5304 no it isn’t, you have to turn it on manually. You also have to turn on simplified weapon switching on since that’s also disabled by default.
@@menacingpyro2005 It definitely is. It used to not be, but it is now and has been for a while.

This was such a great play through although some things weren't explained to you this video showed pure joy. Something a lot of games lack nowadays. I look forward to watching more. Thanks for sharing your joy and laughter with us. ❤️
THANK YOu for watchin and being so kind, I really appreciate it, love you Jess ❤️
You played really well for somebody that's new to TF2. Discovered your stuff recently through the Meet the Team react vids, good stuff!
Thank you, I appreciate that a ton! 😁
"Ty for the healing"
Medic:✌️😐
The song you get sometimes is when you're either dominating someone or you get a revenge kill on someone who is dominating you
Dominating someone basically means you kill them multiple times without them being able to take you down, and the revenge kill breaks that streak (a similar song plays when it's the opposite for the above conditions)
i've been anticipating this video since i've first watched your Meet the Team react, and finally watching someone like you play one of my favorite games of all time simply warms my heart
As an oldschool tf2 player with 600 hours of gameplay (not too much by the standard) and casual ow plater, it's been an experience seeing you descending onto this rabbit hole.
This game may look stiff at first, but getting to know the movement and self dmg mechanics, this game offers the most player skill expression and flavor i've ever seen on a videogame.
I recommend seeing Solar Light compilations to get an idea of what im saying.
im not oldschool i started playing mid last year and i have 900 hours
2k but id prolly still lose a 1v1 im very casual and dont play enough to get too good which is my one thing i hate lol
I’m just being honest man but 600 is nowhere near oldschool.
i mean hey maybe they just havent played since like 12 or so years ago
@@dr.tacophd1239 I play since 2010. Its the definition of being oldschool, not playing the same game like a creep. i tend to take breaks of like 1 or 2 years.
The charm and craziness of TF2 is so potent that even someone playing it for the first time picks up on it almost immediately. That’s how you know this game is timeless.
I'm really happy that TF2's getting more recognition recently, and seeing a new player genuinely enjoying the game even though they don't really know what they're doing or what's going on just brings a smile to my face. Glad you enjoyed it, Kieran!
Here are some in-game tips I can give to you since you're just starting out:
1. Go to the Advanced Options and turn on "Fast Weapon Switch". This can really help you pump out damage faster without having a delay with the weapons hud. Really helps with the pacing.
2. You can't inflict *any* damage on your own teammates, so go nuts lmao
3. Spies can disguise as your teammates, and sometimes even as you. You can recognize a disguised spy if:
a) You can't walk through a teammate. TF2 has this feature where you can walk through your own teammates, but not your enemies. This can be useful for Spychecking.
b) Seeing a duplicate of a teammate, or yourself. This' pretty much a dead giveaway of a Spy. And since you cant hurt/kill your own teammates, feel free to shoot any of them without worry.
c) A Scout running slower than usual. Spies who disguises as Scout can't run as fast as the Boston Boy himself, and is also a dead giveaway of an enemy spy.
You'll notice it when you have more experience in the game.
4. The sound you heard plays when you get a Domination (killing a specific person in a game 5 times in a row without dying to them). The person you dommed can kill you once to get a Revenge kill, which will also play a sound.
5. You can rocket jump by pressing Ctrl + Space and Shoot (M1) at the same time while facing the ground. This gives Soldier more mobility and also reach higher places you couldn't before with your regular jump. Since you're just starting out, just use Space and Shoot for now, and look up tutorials for tips.
This is all for now, I'll give more tips in the future when another TF2 gameplay video drops 👍
Hope this helps!
The reason why you were able to kill your teammate at 4:10 was because they were actually a spy disguised as your teammate.
You can also do a basic standard rocket jump by pressing jump + crouch + shoot at the same the same time while looking at the ground.

Oh I’ve been waiting for this video! I love your reaction content, your personality is fantastic and I think your commentary sets you apart from others. Can’t wait to see you play in an online lobby and with other classes. What was your main in Overwatch? Maybe there’s an equivalent you can try here 🥰
Kate that’s super sweet of you to say, thank you! 😁 I really enjoy playing MeI because she’s a menace, so I’d love something similar! Hahaha
@@ChocolateKieran ah darn, Mei doesn’t really have a direct substitute. You might like pyro though! Also a damage dealer, usually focusing on short range and element based attacks
@@Zlinky.4220 pyro is actually a very close fire version of Mei. Flamethrower instead of cryo thrower. The flare gun makes a good equivalent replacement to the icicle launch. Obviously no icewall, but you can air blast people off a cliff with the flamethrower with right click. And airblast reflects just about any non-bullet projectile if you've got god-like timing.
@@nopenope5203 thank you for the clarification, I’m not well versed in overwatch :D
@@ChocolateKieran id try pyro or heavy next. Heavy like mei is really good in 1on1 fights, if u have decent aim. You can also get the Natascha minigun which slows opponents down. Heavy is great at close to medium range, but weak at long range.
love your videos, this was super fun to watch.
here's some facts:
- "the sound" is a domination sound. if you kill someone 4 times without them killing you or getting an assist on you, you dominate them and the other way around. The person dominating you becomes your "nemesis" and if you kill them or get an assist on them you "get revenge", which also plays a sound.
- you should turn on a setting that i don't really knwo what it's called in the advanced settings that allows quickswitching, as in you don't have the menu on the right, but instead switch immediately to the weapon you've selected via scroll/hotkey.
- defense can be just as hard/easy as offense. a sentry plays a lot into area denial and not letting people simply steamroll your entire game if you set it up correctly. the payload cart also heals anyone pushing it.
- there are secondary unlocks, in fact, there's a shitload of unlocks for all classes and slots that can vary up your playstyle a lot.
grenades were in tf1/team Fortress classic but were removed due to people simply throwing them all out before dying and other trash mechanics. what you can get now is demoman's grenade launcher.
soldier and pyro have grenades/napalm grenades on their outfit but these are not usable in game(other than soldier's pickaxe taunt).
IMPORTANT: turn on auto-reload. unless you're doing a super sneaky spy operation (which you probably wont pull off first time playing) there's really no reason not to. otherwise you'll be spamming r non-stop.
- turn on hitsounds! you can turn on hitsounds and killsounds in the advanced settings, and they'll help tremendously with hit feedback. you'll also be notified if your stray pipes hit someone or your sentry is shooting someone. as for killsounds, it is incredibly satisfying to hit a high damage shot as sniper, soldier or demo and hear that ding or whatever your killsound would be.
about that, tf2 is incredibly customizable. you can import/download custom HUDs, sounds, visuals, and even upload custom images (even nsfw lmao)onto sprays, weapons, and cosmetics.
- there will be "friendlies" taunting, hitting teammates with melee weapons and spamming voice commands and not shooting enemies. they're having fun, don't kill them.
if you see a cartoon text bubble with a handshake you can press your taunt button (i believe G) and Join them in a dance, conga line or high five.
thanks for Making these videos and please play casual soon!
Hope you play more of this! It was real fun to watch :)
Thank you! 😁
This game is and forever will be a masterpice. Its charming to see people still playing is for the first time. And honestly i just like it.
The stream was a blast to watch, its great to see the highlights from it!
Thank you for watching both honestly! Support like this is appreciated more than you know 👊🏾
Great video, it’s really nice to see someone else enjoy something you’ve enjoyed for a long time and I hope to see more
It's always good to see someone new to tf2 play it for the first time, i have the feeling like: their mind gonna blow up once they start taking notice about everything that is happening in the entire round :)
Man... Im always here minding my own business after stopping tf2 for a bit, then a youtuber posts a video playing tf2 for the first time, now, i can't wait to get back home to play that good ol' game and do assorted funnies!
There just aint no other game like this, i wish other game companies would stop making their super serious characters with a tragic backstory and make their characters a bit more goofy and tbh i just like the tf2 gameplay, longer time to kill no recoil meaning way more focus on movement strategies instead of the person using the better meta or has better aim wins, kinda boring
I absolutely love this, I’ve been waiting for you to try the game forever. Glad you like it!
Best starter to the year: Kieran learning about Soldier's splash damage potential.
Good show, lad. Good show.
eagerly awaiting the next video. I'm really looking forward to it.
I always love watching new people play TF2! It's great knowing that new players are coming in and enjoying themselves. You have to work on your gamesense though, I was amazed when you looked at enemy spawn completely oblivious that they moved past you, it was hilarious.
Welcome new recruit! I have no idea what you've learned through twitch chat so far or even just playing the game; but here's some tips you might find useful if you don't know already!
1: there's a setting in the options menu that lets you quick swap between weapons using just the mousewheel (normally you have to press number keys or scroll through than then click to select the weapon). It's really useful since it drastically cuts down on the time it takes for you to swap between your options.
2: in all source games, which means this game too, when you jump you can crouch midair to climb a little higher. It doesn't actually increase how high you go, but the way it shrinks your hitbox means you can often jump up ledges with crouch jump you're not quite able to with regular ones.
3: steer clear of Comp. TF2's in game competetive gamemode is matchmaking hell (or at least it has been the entire time I've followed it). If you want to get into competetive gaming, look to join community-hosted tournaments and the like instead; they work a lot better.
4: Get used to spy checking. As a heavy player this is something I *definitely* want to impart. Always keep a look out and don't be afraid to fire quick bursts or shots at allies you think are being weird. Friendly fire isn't a thing and while you won't get a hitmarker/sound when hitting a cloaked or disguised spy; they'll be more likely to panic. Also when it comes to spy feel free to (when playing pyro or heavy with sustained fire weapons) spray a bit down common flank routes to try root out a cloaked spy, and always check your corners! Spies are both incredibly dangerous to people who don't know how to handle them, and rather weak against informed players who know how to check for them, knowledge and communication are LITERALLY the top counter to spies.
Anyway, hope you have fun playing! She's an old game, and she's had her problems, recently especially; but she's still going strong!
Hell yeah
I'd love to see more of you figuring out this game
Seeing a first timer finding his way in a game I love brings joy to my heart

LET'S GOOOO!!!! SORRY I'M LATE BUT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO PLAY IT
You know, a lot of the smaller UA-camrs I watch have something missing in their content or personality which explains why they stay small. But you have that something else, that X factor; you’re genuinely entertaining all the way. You’ve already found more success as a streamer than most ever will, and there’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll continue to do so. It makes me really happy to see that since you’re actually charismatic. And thanks for making content about this game, most ppl who do are either veterans or those really small channels.
This was fun to watch i play TF2 since 2013 and when i started playing this game i felt the same way as u did. I was amazed by all the funny stuff that happened , i hope u go online and give it a try is waaay different that with bots.
And don't feel pressured by all the comments telling u to do this and that. Take ur time and Discover things by urself.
Very good video, also, That trumpet sound means a domination (When you kill someone a lot)
The first day of TF2, it's either like this, having fun, relating it to games you've played before, and the joy of old and making mistakes, or just a quit after some time due to confusion or boredom, glad you enjoyed your time with this actually. it made my day :)
It's great that you're having so much fun. It'd be cool to see you collab with a TF2 youtuber and have them show you the ropes.
So, I have been seeing for a while reacting to the meet the team videos and tf2 stuff and oh man, it's feel beautiful to see that you had a lot of fun in the game, and you haven't played in casual to see the community in action yet
Because well, if the game haven't died yet, it's all thanks to the community and all the silly stuff that tf2 has to offer
That one of the best first plays ever that ive seen tbh
AYYY thank you! It was against bots to be fair haha
Its so nice that you had this much fun going against the bots.
I remember when I first tried TF2 it got really fun when I went up against other players.
There is just something special about seeing an enemy scout flying through the air, dying in the air and landing face first at your feet with a scream :D
Hey man, I grew up with tf2 and I still play it to this day. I genuinely think it won't die out soon at all, so I hope that you grow to enjoy like I and so many others have and it becomes one of your all time favorites!
I love your videos ❤
I've never been much of an Overwatch fan, but it's wonderful to see someone who started with Overwatch going back and having a blast with TF2 in it's own right!! I can't wait to see more stuff from you, TF2 or not :]
Glad you enjoyed the experience! A tip, since it came up a few times in the video; To perform a Rocket jump, you need to hit Jump and Crouch at the same time, and fire the rocket at your feet- But, just a liiiittle bit behind yourself as well. It takes some getting used to, but once you get good at it, it's an absolutely indispensable asset for mobility. There's even a weapon specifically designed just for rocket jumps; That being, the Rocket Jumper- Which does none of the damage, but all of the knockback.
This is just beautiful to watch
Glad you had fun! Haha
It's amazing that you started to play the game! Great video and were happy that you had fun! But for future games, when a person is offering you a sandwich, not attacking you or othat things other than fighting you, don't attack back. These are friendlies, a type of play style to go friendly to other people. I hope the game goes well in the future.
Pls more of these
From a guy with 3000+ hours in TF2:
1) no, you can't damage teammates. There is the option to enable it on the server, but nobody does that. If you are able to damage a teammate, they are a spy.
2) you can switch weapons with the mouse wheel, and use Q to swap between the last weapon you had before change.
3) you can change class anytime with the comma key. Do it in the spawn, becasue depending on your setting you will need to wait till you die and respawn to be the new class, or the game kills you the moment you change class
4) the farther you shoot, the less damage you deal, so when you were shotgunning those guys on the platform, you were doing chip damage. Only class that can do serious long range damage is the sniper.
5) as you play, get achievements (or buy the pack in the in game store) you will unlock new weapons. They substitute the ones you have as stock, and they are basically equivalents that give up some stats in exchange for other situational advantage, like a rocket launcher that fires faster rockets and deals more damage, but has less radius of explosion so you need to hit players with rockets directly otherwise you will not deal damage.
6) the sound you hear is a domination. It happens when you kill someone 5 times in a row. A revenge is when the dominated manages to finally kill the dominator. Keep an eye on the top right on the kill feed. there dominations and revenges are broadcasted.
7) when a medic is healing, an "übercharge" meter begins to fill. when the bar reaches 100%, the medic can "pop" his über and for 7 seconds medic and patient are invulnerable to damage. That is why you see players in a shiny red/blue metallic shimmer. Again, unlockables can change what that über does.
8) a critical hit is when the weapon fires with a red/blue glow, and the sound of electric sparkles is heard. There is a medic healing gun that instead of making the medic and the patient invincible, it grants the patient 7 seconds of only critical hits.
Welcome buddy. Enjoy your stay, and don't listen to the gatekeepers, ultra-competitive tryhards and the bot hackers (a current problem we have right now)
even this was 3 month ago i still love watching new players play this 15 year old game it gives me a smile :)
Thats acually pretty fun watching you I'm very happy that you like the game, when you get into it, you should watch tutorials on UA-cam how to play with good settings Regards!
Loved this so much. If you would like some basic tips.
There is no team damage.
There are different taunts for different weapons.
You can get random drops that can give you new weapons which have different stats.
Scout has double jump.
Right click on spy to go Invisible.
And there is alot more that I can't explain right now so watch like a tutorial video, coz the tf2 official ones don't even scratch the surface

its always nice to see people experience tf2 for the first time and having a lot of fun with it. thankfully the majority of the bot issue seems to have vanished with the increase in players recently and a new server security employee at valve. if you want to learn how to rocket jump, there are a couple youtube tutorials and a server in the Community Server Browser called "rocket jump academy" that has a lot of good beginner rocket jumping courses
Glad you enjoyed it Kieran Please do try playing Mann vs Machine it’s a extremely fun sub mode

I love watching someone experience tf2 for the first time. It’s like I’m re experiencing it again. The chaos fees even newer! Just wait for him to learn to rocket jump and more!
that time he killed the spy while it was disguised scarred him for life lmao
Tips. Click q to quickly change between your last 2 weapons.
When someone is really close use rocket launcher. Only really use shotgun when you ran out of rockets
The spy class is hands down my favorite pvp class of any game ever. THE MOST satisfying class once you get good with it, and it crumbles the enemy teams trust and they start pyrobombing everyone they see. Really distracts them from the rest of your team sometimes.
The jingle chimes when you dominating a certain player, and another when you being dominated by a certain player
Here is advice from a TF2 player:
- Most of the time you use your primary / main weapon unless there is a fairly specific situation where using your secondary / other weapon like being up against a pyro that knows how to air blast, you've run out of ammo, or your using a special effect that it has like the buff banner. Of course some classes have looser terms for this like medic, engineer, and Demoman
great video
I am so happy he finally played
I'm so glad people are still discovering this wonderful game.
Hey great video its always great seeing a new person actually play tf2 for the first time
ill say that the first game you were being cautious and stuff but thats the main difference between tf2 and OW
in OW you kinda gotta work as a team but in tf2 your main objective is to do cool shit.
dont worry about the payload as much in OW bc i feel in a server where everyone is having fun a "somebody else will do it" mindset is adopted but it works everyone does a little and then goes off on their own making that mindset work. what im trying to say is go out and frag to your hearts content. if im honest tho there is way too much about tf2 to contain in a comment as you can see by this big comment already but i wish you will see all the great things in tf2 and to make a habit of thanking your medics they go unappreciated a lot
only thing i wish was better about tf2 is the tutorial is kinda bad so i reccomend learning from the community tf2 has ive seen grow to cherish the surges of new players and most people will love to help out
You should react to Soldier Rocket Jumping and Demoman Trimping montages. The amount of fun you can have playing around with momentum is insane!
You haven't even begun to explore the myriad possibilities of funny ragdolls in tf2
Things to know:
> Friendly fire is off in general, but explosive weapons deal collateral damage to everyone.
> If you get really familiar with the controls and the physics engine, Soldier can use his rockets to propel himself across the map like a jetpack! It's very hard to do correctly but there's community maps to practice that with.
> If you get enough kills on another player in a row without them killing you back, you're Dominating them, which appears in the kill feed with a little fanfare. If they manage to get you back, it's called Revenge, and gets similar fanfare.
> Enemy Spies can disguise as your teammates, but are physically enemies in all other ways, so a good way of checking if a suspicious teammate is secretly a spy is to shoot them once or twice with a non-explosive weapon.
> Shotguns technically have unlimited range, but the random bullet spread makes it nearly impossible to shoot something beyond middle distance effectively.
> You can turn on a setting that lets you switch weapons by scrolling the mouse wheel.
> As the tutorial mentioned, you can fire your rockets at a nearby surface to kill more than one enemy with splash damage; if you aim at an enemy's feet specifically, you can also bounce them into the air, disorienting them and allowing you to get more hits in with your rockets or shotgun.
One thing to remember about the Soldier's bazooka...People are moving all of the time because standing still gets one killed. Rockets deal splash damage at least so aim at the enemy's feet. Even if you don't get a *direct* hit, then the rocket will still explode *near* your target.
This is on of my favourite games. I think I speak for everyone how great it is seeing new people enjoy it the same way we do lol
HE FINNALY DID IT YEEE !
You gotta watch team fortress 2 sfm there really good! Love your content
A great video!
Thank you! A great comment
Super fun video! Some tips for you if you want to continue to get better at TF2:
1. Type "bind del explode" at game console
2. Go play Casual instead of bots
3. Press Delete every time you see the really weird things
I'm glad to see him enjoying the game. I suggest looking up a rocket jump tutorial, in order to realize your true potential as a screaming projectile with a gun. Beware the Pyro, though. Most Pyro loadouts can redirect a Soldier's rockets with their flamethrower's secondary function. Like back at you, or in to one of your teammates.
