The trick is to realize you're like spy, in that everyone wants you dead on sight, but you also have the ability to build a giant neon sign shouting "HERE I AM" that also happens to shoot 5000 bullets per second. Also realizing how much having a teleporter and dispenser can help your team. Not having a teleporter on defense is the fastest way to lose the first few points as everyone awkwardly walked to the front line.@@Nxcturnalll

Vanoss and the crew never cease to be funny. even after all these years of discovering and forgetting new and old youtubers, the Vanoss crew is one of the very few i still regularly watch. TF2 is kind of the same. no matter how long i stay away from the game, i never tire of the ever evolving SFM and GMOD creations and the endless creativity of the many creators who have gotten very skilled in their own crafts.
STBlackSt, ElTorro64rus, Kitty rest his soul, Doctor Lalve, Blackimus, Crash Maul, kostamoinen, ThatGreyCartoonPony, The Winglet, Triumbrush, Great Dictator, ceno0 and many others bring so much to the table and it's honestly amazing how good some of them are.

When the pandemic rolled, my parents got me a laptop for college. A couple months went by, when we got ourselves a stable wired internet, I immediately downloaded TF2 and went straight back to my roots. Now I have 900 hours in with 100 of it as Scout. I think the game could certainly do with some in-game ways for new players to get over that initial hurdle of learning the basics.
The tutorials don't really cut it.
The community has some excellent training resources (rocket jump maps, pyro airblast gamemode, many many tutorial videos).
Once thing that could help is a contract tracker which gets new players to complete various objectives to learn the basics & unlock items.

After seeing that last clip with you playing heavy, I can say with confidence that there is a vital piece of information that you need.
You can spin up and keep the barrel spinning without firing by holding right click. This vital knowledge to have when playing Heavy for 2 reasons: The first being how long it takes the minigun to rev up. The 0.89 seconds it takes to rev up the minigun can be the difference between life or death. The second being the reduced accuracy and damage the minigun has immediately after reving up. The minigun starts with 50% less damage and accuracy when it initially starts firing and it takes 1 second for the minigun to ramp up to full damage and accuracy. By preemptively reving up 2 seconds before you enter combat or keeping your gun reved up in combat, you can avoid that 1 second of reduced stats as much as possible.
As a direct result of my knowledge, seeing you tap firing with the minigun in the way you were was genuinely painful...
Also, play HL, HL: Opposing forces, HL: Blue shift, HL2, HL2: Episode 1, HL2: Episode 2, and Portal.

@@Nxcturnalll It's from a crate that only dropped (infrequently) for a few months back in 2013. The crate alone is worth $50, with the loot in it being potentially $250. There's a lot of "rare card" type of items that sell for stupid amounts in tf2. Golden pans routinely sell for $1500, and there is a hat that sold for $15,000.

I played tf2 in 2019 and hated how many bots were in the game and how complex it was. I then deleted it. Now with the summer update and halloween update I'm addicted. This game is awesome.

TF2 is definitely an experience of all.
Both good and bad, the community and the game itself are a wild clusterf--ck. But it is the only game I put more then 100 hours into, in fact 3 _thousand_ hours.
This game _is_ a time capsule I will always keep coming back to, sure will take breaks from it but it's not leaving my life anytime soon for better or worse.

To avoid any bots, I usually just go to community servers. I don't think I've ever encountered a (bad) bot. I say bad bot because there are those trade servers where you can kill bots that just stand there and take hits like no problem XD

Yo if you ever want someone to play with im here :D
    Bonk Drinker Jr
also some other things you should do to make playing a bit more better but are optional,
take full advantage of the console that is in the game, make some kill bind with - and if your up to the challenge(0r just want my binds) use some CFG! its fun and makes each class able to play differently without sacrificing terrible binds for other classes.I can give you some basic and more advanced cfg binds if you want! im here to make sure you have a great time playing!
some simple binds are bind - kill (When pressing - you kill bind, simple....)
make a cfg file for each class by copying the config-default and re writing the code within each class name you must put in the exact words needed to be working
    Scout
    Soldier
    Pyro
    Demoman
    Heavyweapons
    Engineer
    Medic
    Sniper
    Spy

Similar experience here. 1 year ago I returned to tf2 and introduced a few friends. I had 200 hours at that time. Fast forward 1 year later to today, 1200 hours, our tf2 friend group has grown by 4 times its initial size of 4 people (me included). We met them on tf2, got to know each other and we play nearly every day together now. The problem right now is the 6 player team limit in tf2 when you want to play with someone lmao.

try playing some trolldier, when you get the items, rocket jumper, mantreads & market gardener.
entire subclass: funny flying shovel man.
    - use no damage rocket launcher to fling yourself into the air / at the enemy
    - use mantreads buff to strafe easier in the air to land NEXT to target (slightly more falling time to land a garden)
    - slap with crit shovel
    - -195 MEEEDIIIIICCC! _vas is das?_ HEELP! _Nein!_

It's funny how valve once made games so good that they all outlived their spiritual successors. Back 4 Blood, 2 whole Overwatch games, and a mountain of Half Life clones are all textbook examples.
