vs. saxton hale is a game mode where one player fights a whole team as Saxton Hale. There are other bosses in Tf2 but hey are usually reserved for halloween and you cant play as them
I wonder if we can get him to watch Bad Weapon Academy or TFC vs TF2 series so he can see how first Team Fortress was and how much TF2 changed from its original version.
Bad weapon academy is actually really sick, and I feel like starting with something like the Scottish resistance one or any other one would be really goid
I think bad weapon academy is worth watching when you get to try those weapons first, giving is just a rant and rebalance discussion that a newbie really won't understand, although TFC vs TF2 is a good recommendation, he was really curious about that
9:15 There was a time when you could't haul buildings, or obtain metal from dispensers, with the Short Circuit as your active weapon. That was before the rework that gave it its energy ball. It could really do with getting the later penalty back. It wouldn't be much, but it would be something, to help with lone engineers on the payload. Multiple though, is a different deal.
There is another thing that you should be nervous about is that if you are engineer and the ONLY engineer in the team when defending your team will rely on you and only you when defending all by yourself. And they will blame you for losing the game but reality it’s their fault for leaving you.
16:10 While uncle dane does make a good point for the limited tracking range for mini guns, he forgot to mention the Huo Long Heater, the mini gun that generate a fire ring and while yes you can jump over it not many do. Perfect for this situation, it's extremely good against demoknight, newer spies, and anyone cocky enough to get within range of the fire ring. Granted you will have to watch your ammo but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. If necessary, you can equip a shotgun just in case, but I've gotten used to lunch box items that shotgun isn't needed.
Speaking of memorizing the entire meet the scout monologue Welcome to the scout main brain: I- I don't even know where to start with you I mean Do you even know who you're talkin to? Toofty and Solarlight are both tftubers that make tutorials on demoman, altough solarlight is more demoknight,i still think it would be really cool to check it out
i absolutely use to LOVE the frontier justice, however nowdays i tend to just use stock or the widowmaker as i can't use the FJ as effectively as i use to
The Frontier Justice is only to be used if you tend to expect your Sentry Gun to die often. It gains a massive damage boost from your Sentry's destruction, if your Sentry is still alive though, the Frontier Justice just ends up being much weaker than even the Stock Shotgun.
@@formattedorc For every kill and assist your sentry gun gets the Frontier Justice gets "revenge crits'. 2 for a sentry kill, 1 for a sentry assist. When your sentry gun gets destroyed (by the enemy or you can destroy your own buildings yourself) you get to use the crits. It can be very powerful. If you die though though you lose any crits stored up on your gun.
As someone who mains engi i love the frontier justice but recommend the OG stock shotgun if you are trying to learn as its lower clip capacity can be a big hindrances although it can also force you to aim your shots and take your time more in return rewarding you with guaranteed crits
Yeah this video is jam-packed with mindsets, useful to keep around. Regarding some notable unlocks that Uncle Dane mentions a lot or use a lot: Widowmaker (Shotgun Primary): No reload, uses metal as ammo, replenish ammo on hitting enemy. Simple as. The Frontier Justice (Shotgun Primary): Halved clip size from 6 to 3, but every kill grants you 2 crits and assist grants you 1 crit if the building is destroyed WHEN YOU ARE ALIVE (if you die when the sentry is destroyed you don't get it). Every shot counts with this gun but if you do make it counts, oh it counts alright. Also Uncle Dane talks about this on one of his video but it is often worth pulling the destruction PDA and destroy your sentry then rebuild it later if you have an equivalent of 4-8 crits in your alive sentry, since your sentry may just not die or if you accumulate too much crits like above 10 you may be overestimating your ability to survive to use all crits effectively. Rescue Ranger (Shotgun Primary): Shots changes to projectile bolts that travels straight and can repair buildings from afar. Pitiful damage and harder to use for combat than your stock shotgun. Unique ability is to aim this gun to a building and right click to consume 100 metal and just make you pick up that building, no matter how far. Very useful if you can time it to save buildings about to be destroyed. BUT, when you pick up buildings you are marked for death and all incoming damage is now mini crit to you (regardless whether you use the Ranger ability or just picking up buildings normally). The Wrangler (Secondary Tool): Replaces the Pistol. When you switch to this secondary, the moment you pull it out you gain control of your sentry. You can manually shoot a disguised spy, shoot an enemy that is outside of your sentry range with perfect accuracy, and the sentry gains a protection bubble that have great if not ridiculous damage reduction. Though be wary that means no more aimbot from your sentry and if you switch to your primary or melee to repair, the sentry will deactivate for a few seconds (albeit still having the protection bubble) before reactivating like normal. Very great to equip if you don't need the aimbot when you can just aim it at a chokehold or overlooking the objective like payload cart on its designated visible rail. And pivotal too when against classes that want to destroy your sentry like soldier and demo, since if they empty their clip and your sentry is not destroyed thanks to the wrangler bubble, you can either repair it or shoot them down with the wrangler. Short Circuit (Secondary Tool): DO NOT PRESS THE LEFT CLICK. It's a pitiful zap comparable to the pistol with worse damage worse range worse everything. Instead, ONLT RIGHT CLICK. Right clicking makes you consume 65 ammo to shoot a big giant electric ball that damages player but more importantly DELETES PROJECTILE. Yep, rockets and stickies coming at you and your building? Gone. That's the only use for this weapon but the skill ceiling for this weapon is so deceptively high, i really want you to react to Uncle Dane's video released 6 years ago titled "something something japanese characters, you underestimate the power of some more japanese characters" where he talks a bit in-depth about this weapon. Eureka Effect (Melee Wrench): Possibly one of the most unique weapon. Slower building speed when hitting your buildings, less ammo from ammo packs, less repair per hit. But, while equipping this wrench press your reload button or "R", you open a menu that way, press 1 to just teleport to your spawn or 2 to your teleporter exit, and voila! You can literally teleport from ANYWHERE, ANYTIME to those 2 places. Consume your metals for building and upgrading, just teleport to your spawn to resupply cabinet, teleport back to your tele exit, you have infinite metal supply and if you are about to be overrun you can just pop out of existence and start rebuilding from your spawn. Another weapon so unique it has high skill ceiling.
Vs Saxton Hale is a mode recently made offical where one player gets to play as the ceo of mann co himself. As for boss fights I mean techinally if you include Hale theres six. The Horseless Headless Horsemen,MONOCULUS,Merasmus,Skeleton King,Krampus, and Saxton Hale. The other five being none playable unless mods are used.
I hope you're not gonna be bored by how slow paced engineer can be sometimes. But it's a really fun class because of how much you can help your team. (Very general tip when starting as a engineer) Is that even if you are on your own when it comes to placing stuff, if you could ever find another engieer on the same team I would suggest sticking with them and doing what they are doing, this is to help you understand why that person is building there. But it could also mean that you guys could hold out together with 2 sentry's in different sightlines!
definitely should try vsh but the matches can be boring if you die early on cause you have to wait till everyone dies to respawn, its really fun though give it a look!
Some other good Uncle Dane videos I’d recommend are - Engineer’s Best Weapon - I Was Wrong About The Panic Attack - TF2 Animated Shorts: Recap (this is not informative at all I just think it’s funny) - I Main Pyro Now - Whatever his Frontier Justice video is called I forgot
Saxton Hale mode is actually able to be played on casual and is typically a different experience than the community version due to the community one being made first. You'll find the Saxton Hale mode in the misc category on the maps skirmish, tiny rock, nucleus VSH, and distillery. Of course, you can probably still find community servers of the official saxton hale mode, but it's typically a mixed bag when it comes to community servers. The difference between an official and a community server is that the official will not have any big changes to the weapons, and only feature Saxton Hale as a boss character, while community servers can have many different boss characters, but alter the weapons for a less vanilla experience.
I usually use the same weapons all the time when I play tf2 except when it comes to engineer. Its the one class I enjoy all the guns so I switch up which ones I use often. I dont think its been mentioned but how you play engineer will have a lot to do with the type of map you play. CTF and KOTH maps usually you just build a nest somewhere and dont have to worry that much about moving that gear up. Those maps are usually smaller as well so teleporters arent as important. If you are playing multiple control points or payload maps and especially if your team is pushing the cart you will constantly have to move your gear to keep up with the cart and teleporters are really important. I would suggest trying 2fort, for a little bit at least, when you first start. It is probably a bit easier place to learn the basics of engineer before branching out to other maps. Its almost a tf2 tutorial map:)

Yeah, I had already mentioned this to him and even recommended he react to the: ''official vs saxton hale tier list''

If we asking him enough he will
He should watch Videos of Lister but they are probably to long
