    Definitely deserved. Ghost started in 2010 and in the past 9 years went from playing small gigs to large arenas. They put out 4 great and diverse albums. Received 3 Grammy nominations and won for Cirice. Years ago I watched the music video for Secular Haze and immediately fell in love with the old school sound and melodic vocals. Ghost is my favorite modern band. With so many legends getting old, dying or going on farewell tours, we need newer bands to carry the torch. More people should respect the past and embrace the future.

      He is not honest! He ripped off all former members of the band, and that is why he records with one set of musicians and tours with another. He was sued and lost the case. Bands like THC would have been a better pick for metal band of the decade. Listen to the keyboard part of the song, sound familiar? Try White Zombie, who grabbed that sound from old monster movies and TV shows like The Munsters.

    He 100% deserves it. He’s immensely knowledgable and aware of how to approach his craft. He’s a very switched on guy and a realist. From every interview I’ve watched with him he honours his influences in so many ways but uses them in such a way to paint a clear picture and idea of what he wants to manifest. He never limits himself, he pushes the boundaries and refuses to stagnate as you can quite clearly here in his explanation of the progression of Ghost. Hands down deserves all the recognition he can get for what he does because he’s in my eyes a true inspiration for future metal and music enthusiasts.

    • @Wagoo
      @Wagoo 4 роки тому +8

      @@LoudnessJP there's no evidence of him unpaying his band because all of the money went through his own company, so nobody else has seen the financial records. The entire court case was asking to SEE those records, so the former ghouls could work out by how much they got screwed over. The current touring band (since 2017) are just hired contractors, that wasn't the case for the original ghouls where any band changes happened organically like a normal band (voting and discussing and what not)

    I think Ghost soared because they were a breath of fresh air in an increasingly stale genre. I love the genre don't get me wrong but most bands in the last 10 years have had similar sounds. Then Ghost shows up with their own sound, their own look, and even create a whole backstory to Papa Emeritus. It's a way to keep everything feeling fresh, but in their own unique and interesting way.

    I like that he specifies the adaptability that is required to be successful isn't just in music. He mentions restaurants and tile businesses in passing.
    It's a fresh breath of air when an artist can say that the need and ability for adaptability isn't exclusive to his field.
    When models act like walking a catwalk is so difficult or actors pretend life is hard I have to roll my eyes. Yeah, I can't do it like them because I don't look like them nor have I had their experiences. But what they're doing isn't difficult compared to other menial jobs. Some of them know it too.
    Yes, we all have our relative difficulties, but it's nice when someone who's attained success still understands that others go through some hurdles and knows to be excellent in anything that the type of mindset that is required is one that can adapt and improve on ones situations.
