He said that the Papas didn't have anything to do with the writing, but it's clear at this point Tobias is the writer for 90% of the music. When he gets into the singer he is no longer Tobias Forge, so he isn't lying technically...
Papa is a character, therefore he didn't write the music. But Tobi(Tobias) plays papa, so Tobi wrote the music.
While I do get the feeling that Tobias is a very humble person, I agree with the other 2 people who replied to you. That answer was totally playing into the character and lore of it all.
He is playing the lore, dude. Tobias is not Papa. If he wasn't playing, Ghost would have ended or the identity of Ghost would've changed, but as you see, it didn't.

It took me a while to notice that was an intentional part of the mask and not something from the video. (I've seen it before this video) It's a great part of the design of those masks that must have been a statement.

Well, ain't that hard. For the interviews there are only 2 members as nameless ghouls: Omega and Special Ghoul (Papa with a ghoul costume). The other do not speak that often.

To everyone saying "He lied about this and that" he's putting on a character here. Saying Papa didn't write any songs is true, because a Ghoul Writer wrote their songs and a Ghoul Writer IS Tobias Forge (The man behind Papa). If this interview is all true then all the ghouls are lying too, because they said it was 2010 when they formed while this interview is saying 2006. Get over it and listen to the music

Funny how he states that Papa does nothing, but only sings the lyrics, while he is the actual mastermind behind the band haha! Talk about creating confusion. I guess the Prince of Lies taught him that :-)

Logically, considering all three of them "characters", as you do: Papa=Special Ghoul (the character you see in this interview)=Tobias Forge. And boy, does He write ;-)
What that guy meant was, Tobias says Papa doesn't write songs because, in his mind, Papa is a separate, though fictional, entity from his true self. He creates the character by creating a personality within his own mind that's disconnected his true personality; it's a persona that he can "take on" at will.
I hope the accusations of him ripping contributing members off are unfounded

Because English is mandatory in school from 3rd or 4th grade.
Most of the Scandinavian countries as well as Denmark are this way. Unsure of why it has become like this though.

I hadn't been to a rock concert in roughly 30 years and it was Ghost that brought me back. My sister has seen ALL the great rock acts and she thinks Ghost is the bomb. I must admit, that is one interesting mask. From all angles I could see, the mouth area is always blurry looking even though the rest is quite clear.

Right?! They're piercing. I would have a hard time talking to someone with just their eyes showing, but coupled with that person barely blinking and looking directly at me. Damn.
Yeah, I think this nameless ghoul did a great job at not letting the interviewer get too much info about the band out of him. Everyone keeps trying to destroy the mystery around ghost and figure out who's in the band. I think that the mysticism lends a certain power to the band and people should just stop caring about who's behind the masks and just enjoy the show. But, there's some people out there like Tommy Victory fucking it up with his instagram post and such. I hope on the next album they fuck with everybody and the next Papa is an actual replacement or stunt double that get's unmasked and not who we all expect it to be but they should keep all the people writing songs for Ghost as ghost writers cause that's really the best part, the music. Either way the vibe of the band is still fucking cool as fuck.
undead797 I think it is part of the age we are in with the internet and cameras on phones. If Ghost was around in the 70s or 80s people would be limited to magazines- kind of like how it was with the whole KISS members.
I like Tommy V but wish he would have kept his camera at bay- at least Papa (if it was him) was quick enough to give a goofy expression. I didn't interpret the Ghoul's eyes as threatening- they looked more like thinking of how to answer the questions as they were coming up. IDK. I can't help but think he was standing on something to appear taller after watching the entire video.
Funny how interviewer just assumed that Dave Grohl had actually dressed up as a ghoul and performed live with Ghost and completely ran with it. Not quite what Ghoul answered...

Ghost is the real deal! They have there thing that makes them stand out amongst the crowd, both visually and musically.

I love that he puts on the play of having a band, or different people as Papa. It’s just Forge. He pretty much writes all the parts, he might hire other musicians to perform or record better than he can but he does most of the work

ive become a fan of ghost rather recently even though ive heard of them over the past couple years, i have to say im addicted and automatically fell in love with the music once i heard pinnacle to the pits. i thoroughly enjoy their music and the costumes are just sick i love it.

@@livelyrook7605 the original lineup of ghouls got into a fight about papa not paying them their fair share, so they sued him and left the band while revealing their, and Papas, identity. I don't remember the outcome of the lawsuit.

+Matthew Jones This is the rhythm guitarist, who does most of their interviews. During album signings both the rhythm guitarist and Papa (at the time it was II) were giving their signatures. Of course, all of them except for papa use a stamp. Papa actually signs stuff in signature.
