Matt is one of my favorite success stories. A humble veterinarian with a passion for guns who stuck to what he loved and turned it into most peoples dream.
I completely agree, watching all of his content gives me something to work towards. I see his success and think to myself "I can do that, with hard work I can do that."
What a beautiful home to raise a family, a forever home that took a vision and lots of hard work to finish. Kudos and congratulations. Can't say that I have seen better.
Bringing this abandoned mansion and landscape back is a wonderful example of taking something so massive and seeing it through to the end. Congratulations to you all.
Man having watched this series since the very first episode came out. I forgot how long it took and just how much work had been done to the house. One of my all time favorite series on UA-cam, had a smile the whole time watching it. Also being able to see Matt and his family grow throughout the whole thing is absolutely awesome.
Honestly, my favorite thing about the entire house is that mosaic. The fact that you painstakingly saved that little piece of the house's history and restored it AND hung up it prominently is just poetic to me. Well done, sir!
@@luisvelazquez942 hope English isn’t your first language. They bought the house to renovate it and possibly sell it, but when you put as much heart and sweat into as they did; they decided to move it

I started watching this while deployed and remember that this project was one of the only things I found enjoyment in during that time period. Preciate the good times Matt and Mere:) Also the last 10 seconds of Mere is priceless
Well said. There are a lot of people that act nice and good on camera but they are JO's in realize. This guy is the real deal and so is his Dad. Great family that (as you said) "deserves all the success in the world."

shes a mother of 3, married to matt, you really surprised? EDIT: just seen it, i see what you mean, and as an engineer (like mere) thats the drink of "oh ****** here we go"

Almost brought a tear to my eyes, amazing work from the demo family ! Im a very centimental person and to see Matt the same about the table and the Mexican mozaik mural is truly awesome, you guys turned a wreck into a home and a bloody beautiful one at that, big thankyou to Matt for bringing us alone and letting us watch him and his family grow over the past 3 years. Love you guys ❤️
I come back to watch this video every know and then to this day because this is the kind of thing I would like to do for me and my family in the future. It has helped me and my wife get the inspiration for our house when I get out of the military.
You did a wonderful job editing this and putting it all together Matt. You guys showed up in my feed not long after you bought the abandoned mansion and I’ve been watching ever since. What you two have accomplished together is truly beautiful. I know the exhaustion of a home build, it goes right down to the bone; let alone a demolition and a rebuild. You both managed all this while growing your business, raising your family and enduring heartache and loss. And.. you did it all with an audience of millions. Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us.
Three and a half years ago, I thought for sure this wouldn't work. I can't tell you how happy I am that I was wrong. Watching you carve out your own slice of paradise bit by bit has brought me so much joy, and seeing it all put together in one video gave me the biggest of smiles. I am so happy for your family and I can't wait to see what's in store for you and your family next. From one Texan to another, I am so very proud of you for sticking to it and building a house that you and your family can officially call home.

I still remember the first episode, thinking there's no way you're gonna get this done, but after seeing it stripped to the framing, it was going to be completed. The surprise was when you decided to keep it, congrats! This series has inspired me to start work on my house that was severely damaged in the Northridge 94 quake, I had about 75% of the work completed before having my first heart attack. It has been a struggle through the years, but I'm now determined on completing some of the unfinished plans, in which I built the entry gate and patio cover over the front walkway to my house.
@@ETC_Rohaly_USCG Had a contractor do most of the exterior work after the quake, but the interior I did everything. I really enjoyed making upgrades to my taste, but after the first heart attack it put me in a financial bind and work had to stop. I've had a total of 7 heart attacks and currently being evaluated for a transplant (15% EF). I strive to stay active and won't let my condition hold me back, if you met me, you'd probably think I look totally fine, which I am to a point, my stamina usually last for 5 to 10 minutes before I have to rest, so it's been a slow steady process.

I really enjoyed watching this build. Not only did we get to see the progress of the build and most times showing the process but we got to watch your kids grow over time. As a father of 5, I done a simular build but, my old house isn't as big as yours, but plenty big for my family. Our kids helped us every inch of the job. Now all of them are grown and are home owners and parents too. I believe that when you have the means and the ability, you tend to appreciate the house more when you go this far to make it your home!
It was good to see the entire renovation in one video rather than all of the videos over the time it took to finish the work. It puts all of the hard work in perspective. I know it's personal but I'd love to see a walk through of your house now it's "lived in" as well as any other snags like the swimming pool issues. I'm not sure if you had any footage but it'd be interesting to see some more time-lapse style footage of the finishing bits, I understand why you didn't do them yourself and didn't film them but it'd still be interesting, also watching you and mere doing things like changing a light in your old house was so entertaining it'd have been great to see you assembling furniture etc 🙈

Same.. I feel that they could have built from scratch for the same price or better.
@@3AmandaR1017 but that would take the demolition away and that just wouldn't seem right haha
I want the cost breakdown JUST for the concrete they used holy crap xD
@@3AmandaR1017so true. They've basically changed all the walls and everything, the only original thing standing is the basement.
What a great video! It’s absolutely gorgeous and hope your family enjoys it for many, many years.
Matt is one of my favorite success stories. A humble veterinarian with a passion for guns who stuck to what he loved and turned it into most peoples dream.
I completely agree, watching all of his content gives me something to work towards. I see his success and think to myself "I can do that, with hard work I can do that."
Does he still have his vet practice? Or is he just on social media in one form or another?
What in the world does guns have to do with it?
This was a great series. Kind of sad it’s over.
5 bucks says in the next 2 years he has a house getting built by the river
@@wackadoobrewsquatch3718 I seriously hope so. Or the barn he wanted during the walk through
How extreme we talking. I'm thinking 1500sq per river house that way the boys can have their own place
Over? It fizzled to it's grave
I found a great replacement for this series, escape to rural france, a burnt-out and abandoned chateau in France.
The fact that i watched the first two episodes then completely forgot about it AND THEN SEEING IT YEARS LATER BEEING ACCOMPLISHED is just stunning…
I came to say the same thing!
actually same
i remember watching for a couple of months, then it just stopped showing up, and now i see this it's so cool
same here...nice nice work!
Same Here...OMGoodness!!!
Didn’t realize how much work they did themselves too
Honestly, my favorite thing about the entire house is that mosaic. The fact that you painstakingly saved that little piece of the house's history and restored it AND hung up it prominently is just poetic to me. Well done, sir!
when i saw that they hung the mosaic up I got choked up ngl..
Why not buy a property and build the dream house ? You guy did more work on that property that you literally made it again
@@luisvelazquez942 hope English isn’t your first language. They bought the house to renovate it and possibly sell it, but when you put as much heart and sweat into as they did; they decided to move it
Yessssss….this is the best renovation video on a home….. the energy was high through the ups and downs you might of felt building your home of Love…. because that’s what it is! Blessings on top of Blessings…❤
I started watching this while deployed and remember that this project was one of the only things I found enjoyment in during that time period. Preciate the good times Matt and Mere:) Also the last 10 seconds of Mere is priceless
1st off THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. 2nd yes mere at the end was priceless.
Thank you for your service, must’ve been Hell.
Matt is the kind of person you feel good about rooting for! One of the good guys!! 🇺🇲 Absolutely deserves all the success in the world!!
He sure is
Well said. There are a lot of people that act nice and good on camera but they are JO's in realize. This guy is the real deal and so is his Dad. Great family that (as you said) "deserves all the success in the world."
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years! I first started watching you when the series started. It’s was amazing watching the entire process and how your children have grown through the process.
I know i remember when i saw the 20k go kart that was 6 years ago how time flys.
yeah americans are crazy when it comes to building. first lady in the house looks at it and thinks less than 3 years, me a european look at it and think at least 5 years. without crane btw ,-)
I cant believe it either!
My favorite thing is to watch these videos and bond over them with my father whose done construction for 28+ years. Congratulations it looks amazing ❤
I forgot how much work you did Matt and Mere, turned out to be a fantastic family home. Congratulation, worth all the heartache and joy. EDIT: Mere wins the best part of video at the end when she is sculling her drink....seems to me she has done that before!!!
shes a mother of 3, married to matt, you really surprised?
EDIT: just seen it, i see what you mean, and as an engineer (like mere) thats the drink of "oh ****** here we go"
It's hard to believe it's been 3.5 years. Time flies anymore. Thank you for taking us along for the journey. Hope you and the kids have many, many years of making memories there.
Best comment right here.
@@notmyrealname5268 Thank you
Three and a half years ago, I thought for sure this wouldn't work.
Hear, hear to that!!
Closeup on Mere as she’s downing her wine at the end was the best part of the video! She didn’t look too excited about the future endeavor 😆❤️
I'm dying...literally LMAO...
😂😂😂 literally made me lol. She's so reserved and quiet normally but that spoke volumes without needing a word lol. In all fairness she is the realist in the relationship to keep Matt from going too crazy
Yup, one bottle more, please!
It was probably scripted.
Loved that part!!! LOL
Absolutely wonderful journey. Thank you guys for letting us be a part of it and especially for letting us see the finished product. It looks breathtaking and I hope you can enjoy every minute in it!
I've watched the series since the very beginning and I can't believe it's been 3 and a half years! I've forgotten how bad it was in the beginning, it's absolutely incredible how much work you've done and now it looks just breathtaking!
Thank you for taking us along on this journey, I loved it!
I wish you would do a more detailed house tour on the inside to see Mere's incredible taste and talent in decorating it 😍
right some of us have watched since the begining and we dont even get the finished product just quick glimps
Couldn’t agree more. It’s incredible and that VIEW 😆 👌🏾
@@FusseyBussey381 Quit your bitching , there's enough to see for everyone and if you did ACTUALLY watch from the beginning you'll know from watching the process what it looks like. You sound like an ungrateful child , always demanding more.
Literally my thoughts 👍🏻
I used to keep up to date on this project for the first year or so, but I got caught up in personal issues and just never got around to going back and watching the process of this MASSIVE project. I am honestly proud of this guy for commiting to his dreams of basically rebuilding an entire mansion from almost scratch.
What is your personal issues

Wow i am totally blown away!!! What an amazing job and hat's off to you Matt for having the eye to notice all the rotting wood and deciding to take all the brick down if you didn't do that you would have had a nightmare!!! I am also impressed at your carpentry skills, i didn't get to see the finished product until now i fell behind when the pool was first installed before any of the yard work and landscaping was done AGAIN GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY YOUR HOUSE CAME OUT JAW DROPPING!!!!!!
Whats crazy is watching the kids grow as the house evolved. I remember the first episode. Been hooked since. Great job. Great family. Great house.
This was definitely one of the coolest projects I’ve ever seen on UA-cam! Absolutely incredible work. Hope y’all enjoy your not so abandoned anymore home!
It's been 3 years already! I remember when you first started this series. Holy crap time really flew by. Looks great and I'm happy for your family. You deserve it, brother. Good luck on your future endevours.
This is going to be such an amazing series for your kids to watch again years and tears down the line. You’re an amazing dad Matt.
For sure!
That cut to mere as she finished off that glass of wine while you were saying you got something bigger and more abandoned was hilarious . It,s been a fascinating 3 years to watch the progress of turning what was an ugly duckling into a incredible family home . Can,t wait to see whats next . Good luck guys .
Getter Done! Dude👍
Keep going while you can!
Aw man! I lived in West LA during the ‘94 Quake! I can’t believe you are still dealing with it! Keep on keeping on!
Was 14 then, 42 now… 😳
Good luck to you and may God bless your efforts❤
@@ETC_Rohaly_USCG Had a contractor do most of the exterior work after the quake, but the interior I did everything. I really enjoyed making upgrades to my taste, but after the first heart attack it put me in a financial bind and work had to stop. I've had a total of 7 heart attacks and currently being evaluated for a transplant (15% EF). I strive to stay active and won't let my condition hold me back, if you met me, you'd probably think I look totally fine, which I am to a point, my stamina usually last for 5 to 10 minutes before I have to rest, so it's been a slow steady process.
Dude I'm so happy for you guys. Thank you for taking us along for the ride, God bless.
When your kids grow up and become adults, and fully realize the stuff yall(Mere and Matt) have done together, they're going to be so proud of you. You're incredible people who have done right by your kids, I hope one day you'll be there when they really realize it
it will also instill in them a sense of purpose with hard work something a lot of kids now days sadly lack.
This makes ME emotional man. Watching you 7 or 8 years ago and how far you've come is truly an incredible feat. It's so awesome to see you and your family in a home like this. That is a dream come true. Watching this abandoned mansion transform into a home over the last 3 years has been one hell of a journey. You're such an inspirational person Matt and I wish nothing but the best for you and the family in the coming years. I can only hope that some day I will be in the position to do something like this. Once again congratulations and good luck with everything. Love from Portland, OR.
How does it work with the taxes? Would someone come assess it at say 10m and slap them with a tax bill?
@@juliend5047 They need an appraisal for insurance. And then, yes, their property taxes will spike. Not sure Matt and Mer are excited for it, but not sure they're going to feel it too much, either.
Yeah it did the same to me!! 😱 Life long Demolita member!
This mansion turned out way better than I had ever imagined. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Growing up this house always fascinated me. So cool to someone finally finished it!

@@collegestudent6071 Haha, yeah you clearly didn't watch this series.
Thats a bit fussy. Watching the kids grow hmmm?
It was good to see the entire renovation in one video rather than all of the videos over the time it took to finish the work. It puts all of the hard work in perspective. I hadn't realized how much went into this project until I saw this video. What an accomplishment! A beautiful home for the family! And what a view!
@DemolitionRanch Matt, you & Meredith put so much sweat equity into this house!! I hope y'all and the kids make it into a home that your future grandchildren will enjoy just as much!! All the best from NC!! ❤❤❤
As an architect, I highly enjoyed your journey. The landscaping design around the house is outstanding. It definitely gave the house a feeling of luxury and also gave it great spaces for sharing and enjoying. Congrats on this massive project!
Best part of the series was this video strictly based off of how much Mere's attitude changed towards the project. This was an amzing series to watch. Loved every bit of it!
It's crazy how invested I got from the very first video. Both you and Mere and the most genuine people and that's what makes me and I'm sure everyone else come back. Thank yall for just being yall. Congrats on yall's new home and look forward to whatever is next!
Just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. I’ve been binging on it since. Hell of a project and you did it right. Beautiful house and family. Thanks for sharing! Blessings!
I’d love to see a video dedicated to the inside of the house!! The outside is of course stunning, but I feel like a full house tour is needed!! Amazing transformation ❤

This Series was a big part of keeping my mood up during the whole pandemic, I remember being so thrilled during the episode ya'll decided you were gonna move in, cause I knew that meant ya'll would have so many cool ideas you would throw into it. Happy ya'll get to enjoy it now.
Yea I hadn't watched the first few on release as I knew they'd be a series but as soon as I was furlough in the pandemic I binge watched and then watched on release, amazing series.
I started watching it all in 2024. So to see Mere here was very funny to me. Your family is such a blessing; God bless each of you, and those who love Mark.

I remember watching these when they came out and you saying how long its going to take to be finished. I said to myself "I'll be in college and already half way through by the time this house is finished". At the time I couldn't imagine that, but here we are and time sure does fly. Thank you Matt for all of the videos you have put out. You're amazing!
The project completing honestly felt like a TV show that I religiously watched, ended. I had watched every episode since you uploaded the video announcing you bought an abandoned mansion. Now I'm constantly wanting more renovation videos of this caliber, of which there are few

This was incredible. I fell off the series in 2020 when everything went insane and my life totally changed and I didn’t have UA-cam time anymore. Seeing it all from start to finish is incredible. You really have built the ultimate dream home.

hello Matt, i just want to say i have been watching ur videos for like 4 years now especially off the ranch, I enjoy watching you deal with everyday life especially during the earlier times when you Jake, Mere and Stephen were just starting bunker branding, the times when you are doing your construction ranch projects, and the adventures you and your kids have along the way. I just want to say it has been an honor watching your abandon mansion series, really enjoyed the whole process. More power to you and your family. God bless
Great video! My family has done construction for generations and there is nothing more satisfying than watching renovation like that. Bringing beauty back to an abandoned property.
“What if we’re in here and the whole house collapses on us”
“That is a worry, yes.”
Such a dad response 😂
This was the best house renovation I've ever watched. The dedication and joy of seeing what you built for you and your family is inspiring!
Wait, that's a renovation? Appears to me it's a build. Virtually nothing is left of the origional. Where's all the large rock?
You got a lot of views and likes from this entire project. WE NEED MORE. I would honestly love a video of you walking around the entire property with random thoughts of what you've wanted to do more with the house and the surrounding areas and what plans are in the works or what plans were scratched or just random it'd be cool to do that. THAT WOULD DEFINETLY BE AMAZING!
Thank you Matt for bringing all of us along for this crazy journey! Happy to see the finished project and the whole family having fun!
This place is such a big blessing from god and, to see you work so hard to build this from the ground up and now, you can grow old in it is just amazing. I was almost in tears for you and your family because its so joyful. Something about building your own house just hits so much harder then buying it already build. I am so amazingly grateful that god has given you this and i am extremely happy for you and your family. May god keep blessing you and i am really excited to see what god does for your with your resort renovation, with much love, this guy lol.
This brings back nostalgia for me, I can't imagine what feelings it brings back for you and your family Matt. Incredible job. I hope the previous owners would be happy to see what an amazing place that house is now.

Hey Matt! I have been watching this series before when you guys were just joking about maybe trying to put in an offer. I introduced you to my dad who became very intrested and an avid watcher, always excited when a new video came out.
