this video is a good reminder that it doesn’t matter how much money you have, how many clothes you have in your closet, how big your house is… you are not taking anything with you at the end of your life.
I worked for him in 3 of his practices - He was a amazing man cared for everyone he knew. This is a horrible nightmare for so many that LOVED him & his family. I also helped clean this place when construction interior was almost done. WOW this breaks my heart brought back some tears.
tell me more about. did your wife die too? and Natalie? and where do they live now? and all these belongings, why didn't they take them? how are they today? It's kind of sad to see this mansion empty.
While some may focus on the greed and excess of this beautiful mansion, I find the story of the family more intriguing. What it must have been like for this family to have had to move out within 3 months of losing father and son. The inability to take so much with them. Was it because the bank wouldn’t let them, or the inability to take so much not knowing where they would go and the loss of the breadwinner leaving his wife to support the remaining 3 kids. While I appreciate seeing the mansion it leaves me wanting to know if the family landed on their feet. I care more about the human story than the lavish mansion. It’s like reading a good book but being denied the end of the story. I enjoyed the tour though.
@@Sunflower-ug3eh You can make that assumption but we can’t know for sure. Not everyone that faces disaster has a soft landing. Just saying my curiosity would like to know which ending it was.
I see a young wife wasting all her husband’s money on mindless trinkets. I’ve heard of people hoarding stuff like this without even removing the price tags. People become insatiable about trinkets and do-dads and spend their money foolishly. I can see why hubby had to stop paying his life insurance premiums. There I said it…
Yes I read about his daughter that is becoming a Dr. The article I read said her mom had a really rough time after she lost her husband and son. Creditors came down on them fast so they had to move out fast. My gut was telling me they still weren’t well off.
Watching videos of abandoned mansions or castles bring to me an agonizing feeling of loneliness which makes me ask " Where are the people of the house?" And this make us remember that NOTHING LASTS FOREVER ! We are all just passing through in this life. When we are born, we bring nothing with us and when we go, we take nothing with us!
Can you imagine going from the excitement of living in your dream home with your family to then losing your husband, son, and your dream home all at once? It’s heartbreaking. I feel so sad for the family. I hope they’re doing okay.
Happened to me as a kid. New house, new car, then my father died. A few weeks later, my grandfather and uncle died. My mom was left in debt, so we lost the car and house and were left homeless for a long time. Don't be the person to not have plans in place for when you pass. I have everything in place for my kids, and I've talked to them about it so they know what to do.
The biggest lesson to take from this video ...... ''When we die, It's not ''what'' we leave behind, it's ''who'' we leave behind that truly matter's. People will rarely remember the material thing you gave them, instead they remember all the incredible memories you made with them along the way.
If you already have love respect and kindness in your family the next thing is provide for them and make the next generation that you are ahead of less stressful by being wise with finances and a home property for them... making their start financially a higher quality so they have less time worrying about money and more time to pursue their love and creativity for eachother ...yes the material things pass ...but its still important to give your children the best start possible ...its easier to build memories and love someone when your not arguing and worried about paying the bills ...it only takes one generation to break the cycle of struggle and poverty the wealth is then passed down to the next . Life has unexpected consequences like this story ....that doesn't mean you make your kids live on Struggle street ...most of the time the wealth is passed on to the ones you love and that is a part of the satisfaction to say " All things pass however i hand this to you to give you a life easier than mine " on your death bed and thats a part of Love ...
So I did some research & found this home was first put on market in 2008 for $10mil. Nobody was interested & was marked down to $8.5mil. A few months pass & still nothing. Then it was reduced to $5.3mil. Finally someone bought it & if you u were to look it up, the masion is OFF the market
@FadingVitals yup...a combination between modern and classic old style.... masonic bizarre style that l don t love at all.... expensive and opulente style.... that didn t bring happiness to no-one.
Thank you. Just what I needed to watch. My wife and I are directors of our farm business and own property, plus small pensions. I am nearly 55, my wife is 52. We have started to save to retire from the farm, and possibly live on rental income, I'd really appreciate you go LIVE and talk about how to earn passive income online and retire comfortably, let’s say $1M.
I totally agree, I'm 60 and newly retired with about 1.2 million outside retirement funds, no debt, and very small dollars in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the past 3 years till date. tbh, the role of the investment advisor can only be overlooked, not denied. just have to do your research in finding a reputable one.

Real estate, my friend. It's a limited resource, consistent gains in value. Your money is tied up while you own the land, but you're almost always able to sell it at a gain. Index funds are a great spot to have solid returns as well. I'm in total agreement with the folks here saying to chat with a financial planner. Solid advice. Good luck! Daniel
As a widow of a man that died in a house fire 2 days b4 Christmas, I can tell you the wife was probably so distraught losing the husband and a child that material things meant nothing. All she probably wanted was her family back. My house was a total loss & I never returned to get anything. Some family & friends went and brought me a few small things. At first all I kept saying was I didn’t care about it, I just wanted him. It wasn’t until probably a year later that I missed sentimental things. I watched this thinking how many of these I have watched and how many homeless people sleep outside or in tents. We have ways to curb homelessness and these mansions could be used as temporary housing.

CherokeeTJ Hodge when my daughter lost her husband, it was like she lost her mind. She started bagging stuff up and sitting it by the road. For almost 2 years, she totally checked out, mentally. Of course, later she regretted it.
As a physician, married to a physician, and having twin three year old sons, I am literally in tears here. This story hits WAY too close to home! Patrick and I completed our dream forever home a year ago Wednesday. Thinking I need to watch this another time, gotta make sure the autopay on our life insurance policies are up to date and set. I say that in NO JOKING WAY
@JustinAdamsMD So glad your comment was here. Life insurance isn't a big thing in Australia, but You would think having this mansion, wealth, material possessions in case your paperwork would be up to date. But most importantly your Family was secure. Loved one's are the most important not material thing's, a roof over their head important. My Dad was a Pilot and organised..Kindest thoughts to you and your family and Furbabies from Australia.
I am very poor, but I assure you my prayers are with you to never face such loss.. the mansion would me so little at that point.. if you live in one I mean.
Great Job - as a retired builder it makes my heart ache for the work and love of labor that went into the building. Sadness for the loss for the family, regardless of rich or poor makes no difference.. It shows you come into this world naked and will leave the same no matter how much money or mansions you have..besides the loss and grief for those you leave behind.. and if I had the money and means I would purchase this estate and make something good out of it.. if this is left much longer empty more destruction will follow. So Sad - Never had any idea this existed.. . Thanks Job Well Done🤔😮💨😒👍
As a glazier by trade I can say all of the bathrooms had expensive frameless showers in them. The mirror job in the upstairs bathroom is a nightmare to install. What struck me is all of the tools that got left behind. If my tools were in there when the eviction came, I would retrieve them. In my eyes they don't belong to the bank, they belong to the tradesman that purchased them to work. What a waste of a great home! Painful to watch all this craftsmanship just wasting away...
This video is amazing and so sad. I can't imagine what this family went through. To see this house and how much it must of meant for this man and his family and to see everything just stopped in time because of their loss is just so heartbreaking.
Beautiful home. Just makes one realize how quickly things can change and material things end up not being what matters most. I am so sad for what happened to this family.
probely was stolen item because some people steal thing use place like this as safe house for stolen good not really used much anyways because it not much of a secured location
This video just makes me sad. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a spouse/father/ bread winner and son/brother and then have to abandon the dream home you both worked so hard for. In a matter of weeks the mother and daughters lost their whole world. Goes to show even the super wealthy aren’t immune from disastrous heartbreak and loss. I hope the family was able to pick up and move on with their lives after such tragedy.
But he didn't put stuff back as he found it! He pooked his hand in the boxes w/o putting the tops back on them. Talked about the taste of the owners. I'm so disgusted with his reaction to the families taste while alive.
I don’t hold anger for this family for having built a beautiful mansion. It sounds like the man worked very hard to provide a good life for his family.
Yeah, dude must have worked very very hard. You cant quantify the amount of money someone makes based on how *hard* they work. Im sure there are a lot of people who work harder than this guy and live in a rowhome in baltimore. Not a ritzy area of outside of DC.
Yes, jealousy is not a good trait. Many years ago, I was whining to my father about someone who was making a ton of money in their business and he said, "stop complaining. If you want to do that, do it!! I didn't! 😂
I know who owns this beautiful extravagant mansion. The Family is related to Mayo Clinic and it explains a lot where their riches come from. The husband who died was from a family of doctors (Mayo) and even His wife is a doctor too! :)
The house was sold in November 2009 to a foreign National. He died in 2015 and it transferred in 2016 to the other person listed on the house. She is still listed as the owner on the county records. The wife did an interview about having to sell it. Which she did. Or the bank did. Not sure which. But the house did sell in 2009. The doctor’s family is not the one who abandoned it.
I could literally feel the sadness watching this video. This family is suffering. I can feel them. The loss is unimaginable. I started crying watching it. The son omg the son. I’m so sorry!!!!!! I work in the ER. I have for 23 years. The sadness is so strong when I lose someone. It stays with me for so long. I literally grieve with the families
This story is so depressing. I have been heavily invested in my career and just moved my family into our dream home and to think about that dream ending catastrophically like this is extremely scary.
That’s just being human..if your single that’s different at least have a will if you have some cash…if you have a family, your ass best have life insurance… soon as you are not single any,ore and get married life insurance should be priority #1 and this is before you start popping out kids…you have to be set up to help your wife/kids if you pass away…
I can't imagine trying to clean all that room that mansion has all from one person ,way too much to clean ,had to hire at least 2 maids to clean everything
Yep I literally stopped the video and did a load of wash and swept the carport etc... they had so much stuff. I just want to look at it. I love looking at girl stuff. Makeup and just beauty products in general
Truly heartbreaking 💔 you can tell all.the love that's been put into that home and how it doesn't have the same value without the husband and son . My condolences to the wife and family ❤
Your words echo the sentiments many of us feel when encountering these places; it's often more than just a building, but a container of memories, emotions, and shared experiences. It's a vivid reminder that the true value of a home isn't in its material possessions, but in the love and life that filled its walls. Thank you for expressing your condolences and adding your emotional perspective to this exploration. It helps all of us remember why these stories are important to tell.
As an urban explorer myself as well as someone who has been in residential construction for nearly 2 decades, including working on foreclosed houses for banks, one thing struck me as odd in this video: After being abandoned for so long, why is the electricity on?
I find it hard to believe the place is so clean and untouched. You mean to tell me nobody raided the place? The building materials are of value alone. The shoes have ZERO dust or dry rot. I kinda feel this is staged. Maybe the property was repurchased and the new owners let him in
It's overwhelming how life can change from one moment to the next. Those who have been through something like this know how it feels. Nothing is ever like the day before. And you will never be the same again. This year I knew how it feels.
I've watched multiple explorer videos before and stuff was trashed and items worth money stolen. I can't imagine the home being so easy to get into yet valuables are still laying around. There has to be more to this story. House is so clean.
Exactly. Something isn't right about this. I think someone did buy the house and they're getting ready to move in. No t.v. would be left and you have to ask one question. If the house was sitting abandoned for six years, why is the electric on?
Someone mentioned in another comment that there was a tenant after the original family left. It also mentioned the things left behind were the tenants belongings and not the original family’s things.
You bring up an interesting observation. I think that's what sets some of these locations apart; it's like stepping into a time capsule where the conditions are remarkably preserved. The fact that valuable items are still present and the place isn't trashed could indicate a variety of scenarios, such as a sudden departure where the owners couldn't take everything with them, or perhaps it's a lesser-known location that hasn't been disturbed. It does add an extra layer of mystery to the story, doesn't it? I assure you, what you see is as puzzling to me as it is to you. But that's the allure of exploring these places; each one has its own untold story. Thanks for watching and for your thoughtful comment.
My husband and i just watched this video for the 2nd time. We still find it amazing how beautiful this home is!!!!! The amount of valuables left behind is mindboggling!!! Such a heartbreaking story 😢. Thank you jeremy for your excellent videos. You are the best at showing these amazing places. Absolutely love to watch you and the way you tell the stories about each place is so interesting. Keep up the good work!! Thanks again 😊
He is excellent in his job? How did he get in so everybody can go in but Jeremy didn't specify any and there is no evidence of investigation and he never mention where it is what state and and and
Thank you Jeremy? Why Jeremy won't tell you the real truth behind this home how come he just barg in like its his and touches everything think lady ? It is much bigger than what you think
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this home was not ransacked because I would think a lot more of the stuff left behind would have been taken. So sad! Why wouldn’t the bank have an estate sale to recover some of the money lost?!!
I thought the same. The wife and other survivors probably took Chanel and similar type items. And possibly the Jordans, Kobe shoes and similar belonged to the son and that's why they were left. Moving under the banks scrutiny they probably had to grab what they could.
I feel sorry for the family. Not only did they lose their father and brother, but lost their life as they knew it. The house must have been a lively and beautiful place at one point in time. I am sure they had so many items and had to leave a lot of stuff behind due to a lack of storage space. I can only imagine the devastation, heartache and depression felt by the remaining family members.
The boxes are from the second owners who bought the house around 2010. The Cardiologist that originally built the house for himself and his family worked hard to earn what he had. It’s unfortunate for his wife and remaining children that he passed away early and they were left without anything.
I think a housing crash will happen because all those people who bought homes over asking price, although it was at a low interest rate, they are over their heads. They have no equity if the housing prices continue to go down, and if for whatever reason they cannot afford the house anymore and it goes into foreclosure because even if they try to sell, they will not make any money. I think this will happen to a lot of people especially with the massive layoff predicted for the future and the cost of living rising at a high speed.
I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!

CNN has already said it’s going to be a big crash . People who bought after the pandemic with high Interest rates and and over paid will definitely be in over their head . It’s going to be worst than the 08 09 crash
I work at a furniture and clothing consignment house. There are STILL lots of items in this house worth thousands upon thousands of dollars! Brian Atwood is a famous shoe designer. And just the Hermes, Chanel and other empty designer boxes are worth money! Since there are surrounding houses, it looks like they have private security preventing looting.
This is tragic, just seeing some of this stuff left behinds says a lot , my heart hurts just imagining, the pain and agony this family went through , this house should be reconstructed. Blessings to you all
It's so sad, that doctor worked his whole life to build this place and never even got to finish it. It looks like they were planning on spending their first Christmas there before tragedy struck. I imagine he had to spend years going to med school to get to his level and never got a chance to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
@@rockiie2172 Yeah, it sounds like he was a better surgeon than a pilot. Just because you can afford a plane doesn't mean you will be any good at flying one.
looks more like a suicide to me, not paying the insurance for 2 months sounds fishy too because i am pretty sure he can afford to pay the premiums at the time of his demise? not paying for 2 months looks intentional. as per the video, the wife seems to be living a very lavish lifestyle? maybe the doc discovered something about the wife? hmmmmmm just my imagination at work 😊✌🏼
@@neverppreciated I would have thought suicide except that he had his son with him. With the expense of the house and all of those clothes/make up that clearly showed a wife that shopped just to spend money, is seems more like he had over-extended himself and cut out what he thought was not necessary, probably figuring to get life insurance again when the house was done an he had things under control again.
This is so sad, praying for the decease and praying for the family. I hope that the surviving family are okay. Just too loose everything like this is heartbreaking and for someone just to come in and ran sack everything is freakin disgusting. Hopefully someone will buy this mansion and turn it into something positive.
I’m not saying it’s ok to steal ppls stuff but why leave everything behind? It’s not like someone stole it before they left…ppl took what someone basically dumped. No ones going back for any of this junk so someone might as well take it…I wouldn’t call it looting but dumpster diving.

The many boxes (empty or still filled with shoes), designer clothes (still labled), etc. gives me the idea that a shop was closed down and the remaining of the stock was brought in here...... as it does not make any sense otherwise!
This is the saddest video and i feel for the remaining family, I’m also amazed that the lady of the house can have that many clothes and shoes, also a little angry at the waste, why hasn’t the cars ,furniture and clothes been sold or donated😢
Jeremy, the desk in the library is an antique French writing desk. The chest in the foyer is a Bombay chest. Fancy doesn’t begin to describe this place, EXTRAVAGANT, LUXURIOUS! I love you my nephew!
It's sad to see a Beautiful Mansion just sitting there unused. A tragic story. This is a good example of no matter what you have, you can't take it with you when you die. Maybe focus on relationships and family & making memories, that''s what's really important. Thank you Jeremy for another fascinating video. Btw, those shoes could be donated to those less fortunate. Lots of kids don't have shoes & simple necessities. It's a shame they can't be put to use somehow.
"A person doesn't just die once, they die a thousand times over when the people wo love them feel the void of their absence." True for any living being. My landlords dog was sleeping right in front of my car when I was driving off. But I didn't know that and I had no reason to check the front of my car and so I accidentally ran him over. He was put to sleep today due to his injuries and his age. He was 15 years old, which is quite old for any dog, but the void of his absence is terrible anyway. May you rest in peace, Jack. I'll forever be sorry for the pain I have caused you and I'll always remember the unbridled joy of life you carried with you until your last breath in my arms.
Oh gosh I am so sorry for the loss of Jack, and for you having to endure this. Please don't blame yourself. You didn't know he was there and, in all honesty, it was up to his owners to protect him and not let him stay outside unattended. Let's hope they never make that mistake again with any remaining pets they have or ones they may get in the future. I'm sure the dog was also hard of hearing or deaf since he was 15. @@johnchef1195 your words seem pretty scrambled. I think you meant it wouldn't be a problem for a millionaire which is true. They could've at least given the clothes, shoes and cars to those who would've really appreciated it.
All I can think of is "you can't take it with you..." The material things really mean nothing...ultimately all we have is what we've made of our souls--that's what we take with us to the next world. 🙏🏽
My brain can not even wrap around living in such opulence! Seriously! It is entirely so sad the way.the family lost it though...I am certain they wld give it ALL back just to have their loved ones alive and well again. ❤
The irony is that this piece of architecture was never a cozy home, but an unreasonable display of wealth and status. Fate gave this family A LOT, but at some point it decided to ruin everything again. Now the house is not even the status symbol it was created to be, but ... nothing, i guess, as it will be difficult to find a new owner. To me, this is a lot of real badly spent money and a tragedy.
That's $600+ worth of body wash in the shower at 14:20, lol. Before you even fully stepped in, I was like, holy crap, all of that unused Jo Malone soap! Crazy. Also, the sink in the guest bathroom at 22:25 was not brass. That's actually 24 carat gold. They have the same sinks and faucets at The Plaza Hotel in New York. Seeing the Kobe shoes is sad, when you consider that Kobe and his daughter died the same way as the father and son that lived in this house.
Beautiful home. I couldn’t stop thinking that there HAS to be a safe room or some hidden room somewhere. I’d love to explore this place. Thanks for taking us along with you.
It is a very interesting video. Questionable that it is bank owned and how the video poster was able to even enter this property. I am very certain he turned off his camera while he looted this mansion of high end merchandise. One poster earlier asked what shoe size and he laughed. This actually was a very sad video. It shows us greed.

My condolences to the family this is a beautiful home and I could only imagine what it would of looked liked if they had finished building very Amazing architecture !
For the most part it all looks sparkling clean. The shiny floors and bench tops, even the windows, inside the closests, the clothes and shoes weren't even dusty! How could it be so clean?
Great question! The presence of dust in abandoned places is actually more complex than you might think. Most people believe abandoned places should be thick with dust, but that's actually a misconception. Dust in homes primarily comes from human activity - dead skin cells, textile fibers from clothing or upholstery, pet dander, constant air circulation through HVAC systems, the list goes on… but In an abandoned building where there's no activity or air circulation, these common sources of dust simply don't exist. So, while you might find dirt, decay, water, or even mold, you won't necessarily find a layer of dust on everything. Also, dust accumulation depends on the specific location, environmental factors, and how securely sealed the building is. Isn't that interesting? It's just another example of how every abandoned place has its unique story to tell.
Heartbreaking with all their personal items left behind. I hope the family are ok because I really can't comprehend why they were not allowed to sell their items. Just wow, I really hope the family are doing ok. This is soooo heartbreaking.
Can't even imagine the pain and devastation the wife, mother of the man that died with his son can't even imagine this happening to the wife losing your son and husband all at once then to find out your home is being taken from the bank because your husband didn't pay his life insurance. My God how would you not lose your mind if you went through all this. A home not finished so it could be sold. I'm sure the home may have been able to be sold but not for enough to cover what was owned to the bank. I pray the wife the woman that lived here and list so much is OK and somewhere and some how is safe and OK.

Simply breathtaking in terms of the luxuries money can buy. However the demise of the Father & Son tragedy is devastating to only hear about & I cannot imagine the immense feeling of loss for all who loved them 😢 Obviously the lady of the house lived a life most can only dream about… This is the example of having anything you desire living the high life that can be totally stripped the next minute & no money can replace the hole that exists in one’s heart ❤️ PS - it’s wonderful to hear a narrator who knows value of designers items & how to correctly pronounce designers names
The guy who owned this house he had it built as a reward for him and his wife and 4 kids 3 girls one Boy at the time it all happened he had 6 medical facilities an they was very close to completion of the mansion but the dr. Moved the family in 2years as it was being built up around them witch was pretty cool but also the dr. Was a very big hobby pilot sadly him And his 15 year old son got caught up in a storm returning from a Business trip they was flying a single engine turbo prop plane and not sure if it had engine problems or just storm complications but they sadly crashed into a mountain after that the wife was left to take care of her 3 girls and she also learned shortly after they still owed 8 mil on the property and still had to finish it ultimately they couldn’t afford to pay off the remaining debt and couldn’t afford 50k a month mortgage the bank gave them 3 months to sell the mansion from there not much known other than I did some digging and found out the youngest daughter was inspired and hugely looked up to her father even when she was soo young she wanted be a dr. Just like him so after all that happened I guess her mom couldn’t completely care for her so she moved in with her grandmother in Chicago where she started her first 2 years of schooling and within the first year her grandmother passed from kidney disease while on Dialysis her mom knew she couldn’t be completely good in Chicago so she begged a principal in there hometown where her farther was hugely known and the principal gave her a shot and her mom drove her a hour and half to school everyday to drop her off and she is now a dr. Just like her dad and I must say I bet her dad is soo proud she’s just like him even when things got hard no matter what she made her dream happen
Sad. As much as I enjoyed this video, I think about all the people in the world today who are less fortunate and some who just could not manage a dollar and missed a blessed lifestyle of living so comfortably. The home is beautiful, and the weight of the tragedy made me feel the somberness that has left a void in my heart for the family.
Something tells me that the people that bought this house from the Dr.'s family may not have been on the up and up. Too many boxes of high end new items laying around with the price tags attached. I really feel for the Dr.'s family losing both father and son in an instant. One of the posts below explains that what happened to the family and it sounds like they have successful lives. The 3rd floor was probably meant for service staff.
I agree, it looks like who ever lived there was in an awful hurry to leave. They are definitely new money people. It would be nice if they did a fallow up story on what exactly happened here.
What an incredible place! I really can’t believe the bank hasn’t unloaded it yet. Since you said that, the bank only took three months to repossess this, my question would be are all the Chanel and Hermes boxes empty because they just got whatever they could before the bank foreclosed. It would seem to me that the females would get whatever they could out of the house. So I’m really not necessarily sure of the looting part, I just think that they grabbed what they could before the bank locked them out. It is such a shame that all of those clothes and shoes and furniture are just left. It’s surprising that there wasn’t some kind of estate sale to make up for any losses. Another great explore, and even though the house is not necessarily my style, it is fantastic! Take care!
It’s crazy going through a series of emotions and having endless questions. Truthfully speaking, I wouldn’t even want to take anything from this house. I would hate to have that type of grief attached to me. Someone else’s grief at that
I always dreamed of making it BIG!! And owning the most High Tech house in the world…but something about this mansion is so attractive! Like the amount of natural light that brightens it and the main entrance is so welcoming that it is humbling yet a blessing… this is a unique mansion and so beautiful!❤ ❤
I’m amazed at how huge this mansion is! Mega Mansion is right! The basement blew my mind! I’m can’t fathom what someone would do with that space! Thanks for the tour! 😊
I mean, 30,000 square feet! My home is big enough at 2,500. Do people live in mansions like this just so they can see the look on people's faces when they drive up?
Hi Jeremy! I'm a fellow explorer residing in roanoke, VA! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! this episode absolutely KILLS me because I am blown away by all the money with that place! It boggles my mind as to why the wife didn't come get all her personal stuff like her clothes ad makeup? And all the clothes with the tags still on them, plus the shoes!!!! She had several hundred dollars if not more worth of make up! I am just blown away by all that expensive stuff lying around..not to mention those cars! Great episode, but definitely sad to see so much left behind!!!❤
Imagine the life his teenage kid could’ve had. I know kids with dads like this in uni who follows their father’s footsteps; no uncertainty about the future and thriving. What a life.
Condolences to his family. The failure to pay his insurance premiums escapes me when so much was expended on consumables. That was an insurance company's dream. The wife should have hauled away every movable article from that house and have it sold. Very disturbing that the bank has not done anything yet. Good job guys.
Don't feel too sorry for them. The good doctor had a disabled daughter who was left NO PROVISIONS. Her mother, the good doctor's former wife, died in 2018. Their disabled daughter lives in a home. It's disgusting!!!
To be fully honest, when putting into thought the history and the story of that place, i may be only 17 minutes into watching this video, but i see the void of pain that place carries, the details of the design especially is beautiful, but the pain that came along with the person that designed it that died with their son and the family that was left to deal with the tragedy, debt and traumatic depth that comes along with all that is horrible to see but pretty easy to imagine while watching this. The way it was designed that im seeing so far was specific in creating a home that fits what someone wants by pinpointing and defining the clarity of whats wanted with an open concept but keeping the kind of experience and ease and beauty that they could call they’re own and be specific about what to make and design it based on the experience and focus of whats represented like the bathroom that has a beautiful view from the window directly above the jacuzzi, and the faucet thats somewhat like a waterfall when running, or master bedroom that has the base bed but on a 3 step easy platform while being able to see the tv and relax and it’s centered around around luxury, beauty, and what can be comfy but also luxury, or the pool house that has the same design and application of all that if it was finished. And again even tho im only 17 minutes into it all so far throughout all of this its easy to see and fathom enough to feel void that place represents to the family thats left and alive that lived there. Scary and a literal tragedy to endure and be forced to endure with all that but beautiful enough to imagine what couldve been cuz it seems like the family was close to having their dream home finished. Imagine it tho, everything is so close to being finished right around the corner of the stuff one does in life while making money and attaining all that in life etc, but then the corner never comes and you are only left with pain and end up being forced to leaving all of it due to the bank, including probably financial struggling a little because what was done and the metaphorical window getting slimmer and slimmer the more money spent and probably not being able to keep fully up with it all to keep things easy, or trying to put more money into the project more to speed it all up and neglect or ignore a little/lot of other things to finish it all. This much success happening and then being taken away from you due to someone dying is nothing but the mental and emotional probable death of those left alive to feel all this shit hitting them like a natural disaster does when people aren’t prepared for it like a hurricane for example or nuclear blast, but on the internal family level. It’s terrifying. But a real story that a lot people that have either been through something similar with success or not could probably relate in some matter to. Of course we dont know who the people that lived there are, but its still a shockwave of pain that can have lasting effects the rest of some people’s lifetimes. Its all real but nothing more than painful. But also important to know is out there.
I was in awe watching you go from room to room. Your voice is very calming and hats off for how respectful you treat the belongings. There was no sign of any spiritual/religious affiliation but endless amounts of Hermes, Chanel and Nike. Fascinating and terrifying at the same time ….thank you!
@@jayandrusiak My point has nothing to do with how much money one has. It has to do with the quality of that house. It’s not worth the money regardless of how much one has.
This video is just heartbreaking. The pain on ALL levels that the wife went thru is palpable as we look around. I imagine most of the boy shoes belonged to the son who died with dad. SO tragic.
@@reneedavila9177 Honestly, if I say more... it will give away the location. I've been exploring for over 40 years... and it's a deadly urbexer sin to give away a location. Doing so... can potentially harm or destroy the site. I've seen it happen more than once. If you really want to find this site... there is literally 1 clue IN THE QUESTION you asked me - that will open the window to everything as it relates to the "the Cross House." I can add... "look elsewhere." Honestly... even if you find this site (and several people have contacted me with info... showing me they did in fact find the location based on the video).. the hard part is getting onto the property without being seen. It is in the middle of everything.

What a beautiful home. In my hometown there was a similar story. A doctor was building a new home for his family that looked like a castle. It was almost finished when he and one teenaged daughter were hit by a semi truck at an intersection. She got out of the car, but he was stuck. He smelled gas from the tanker and told her to run. She did run and it saved her life. The tanker blew up and killed the driver and the doctor. The unfinished castle sat unfinished and vacant for years until it was finally sold to another family who finished it.
I do not remember who, but they took us through this mansion (via you tube). It did not have all that vandalism. It was couple years back. If money was no problem, I would buy that mansion from the bank. Thank you for taking us through this awesome mansion.
I think it's crazy how he didn't pay his life insurance policy! Almost like they lost his payments so they wouldn't have to pay out a claim. And who ever left behind the shoes had no clue of the real value. Crazy story and hope the family found a way to continue on with life.
I was wondering if maybe they had a financial advisor or financial manager that wasn’t assisting with managing the finances. For a doctor to spill that amount of money into a home and not have life insurance, think there is definitely more to the story. So sad. I’m more curious about why the wife couldn’t get more items.
So odd. Anyone who is going to steal only Chanel or Hermes knows that the box is a valuable piece of the whole package. They wouldn’t leave the empty boxes. They would take the whole box.
I think it was the lady of the house who took it . Most probably she was in a hurry and taking the most expensive stuff . With one of the Hermes bags she can buy basically a one bedroom house 😅
@@neomyhelenavanderhart5813 she probably left it as she probably has money and didn’t need it, Chances are they had another house or few houses, full of designer gear etc Husband was a successful doctor/businessman- the wife will of been his business partner She most likely thought it was too painful to finish their dream home And decided to let the creditors take it It looks like most of the expensive stuff was looted
Looks to me as though the family decided to leave in a hurry. She would have dumped the jewelry into a Chanel exotic leather bag and would have had a great new future. Just walk away from the dream turned nightmare.😢
This is the most exciting tour I've seen on abandoned home's. Thank you for not rushing through it and keeping my interest excited. I want to see more. Tks. From Ohio
How tragic. My husband once walked away from his house (was not this luxurious but well over .5 m 10+ yrs ago) left everything he owned along w furniture, clothes, etc. Got lost for a while in life. Living the life that dreams are made of...life hits us hard and we find out that none of these material things mean anything. I am curious about this wife and what has become of her. I lost a son as well so understand how it can break you. Hope she has found a way to move forward for her other children. 💔💔
Thank you for showing us this. But the sadness l felt watching it. Possessions mean nothing if you lose loved ones. So so sad. I hope the family managed to survive such a tragic loss, and were able to rebuild their lives as far as is humanly possible after such tragedy 😢❤
There’s no way in the world I would want a house this big . This is just ridiculous…and you can’t take it with you when you leave this earth . This is a prime example.
The wealthy of yesteryear gladly wised up and gave up homes of this size due to the immense cost of maintaining them and staffing. Classic example of have it all and lose it overnight.
Life my friends, is the key ! Take care of yourselves and be grateful for what you have or even don't have. You take nothing with you when you die and cannot enjoy what you have if you're sick or get sick. Be careful, don't take unnecessary risks that could endanger your life. What a crazy and very wasteful world.
Oh my! What a sad story about the family. The mansion is gorgeous, a bit over the top for me but still amazing. I can't believe all the things left behind. Thanks for the tour.
The house isn’t abandoned it’s in foreclosure from its current owner. The late doctors wife who originally built the house, sold the property in 2008 for 5.3 million .
I hope so, bcs it's a beautilful house, especially the last bathrooms we saw in the videos were nice taste as well, so I hope somebody bought it and people can still leave there, or make a B/B out of it XD hahah lol.

There I said it…
His daughter is actually following in her dad's footsteps. Only 1 of 4 children died.
Yes I read about his daughter that is becoming a Dr. The article I read said her mom had a really rough time after she lost her husband and son. Creditors came down on them fast so they had to move out fast. My gut was telling me they still weren’t well off.
Watching videos of abandoned mansions or castles bring to me an agonizing feeling of loneliness which makes me ask " Where are the people of the house?" The biggest lesson to take from this video ......
''When we die, It's not ''what'' we leave behind, it's ''who'' we leave behind that truly matter's.
People will rarely remember the material thing you gave them,
instead they remember all the incredible memories you made with them along the way.

It's overwhelming how life can change from one moment to the next. Those who have been through something like this know how it feels. Nothing is ever like the day before. And you will never be the same again. This year I knew how it feels.
I wonder why he didn't pay his life insurance payments? Did he forget? That's so strange and sad😢
Because of the wife spending so much money.
Agree. Nothing would be there. The shoes, watches clothes makeup lighting, and TV would be gone…

Ha ha..
A testimony of souls trying to fill voids with “stuff”. A very sad story.

I feel no sympathy for those people who trow money like are no poor people in the world!

The irony is that this piece of architecture was never a cozy home, but an unreasonable display of wealth and status. For the most part it all looks sparkling clean. The shiny floors and bench tops, even the windows, inside the closests, the clothes and shoes weren't even dusty! How could it be so clean?
I don’t understand it either 🤷🏽
I think because it mostly closed up less dust get in.

Take care!
Exactly! They took what they could and got out it was the occupants. I believe did it. Before they foreclose on it.
Interesting it is only high end stuff?? I feel like I am watching commercials.
Not quite! One of the looters said they resold few of the items but last owner took most things tho.

And don't forget the 💲Restoration💲
It costs 4% of property value to maintain a mansion, real estate brokers say
Living in a place that big would feel like living in a museum. It is lovely to see.
This video is just heartbreaking. The pain on ALL levels that the wife went thru is palpable as we look around. I imagine most of the boy shoes belonged to the son who died with dad. SO tragic.
The shoes belong to the guy who purchased the house - then returned to his home country in 2015.
How did you find out the husband & son passed away? Where can I read or watch what happened?
@@reneedavila9177 Honestly, if I say more... it will give away the location. I've been exploring for over 40 years... and it's a deadly urbexer sin to give away a location.
Doing so... can potentially harm or destroy the site. I've seen it happen more than once.
If you really want to find this site... there is literally 1 clue IN THE QUESTION you asked me - that will open the window to everything as it relates to the "the Cross House."
I can add... "look elsewhere."
Honestly... even if you find this site (and several people have contacted me with info... showing me they did in fact find the location based on the video).. the hard part is getting onto the property without being seen. It is in the middle of everything.
@@reneedavila9177 It's literally one little clue... in the question that you've now asked me twice. When you figure out that clue... it all opens up.
I did you give another clue before though... look elsewhere. And it's not Dr. Mayo.
@@controlledchaos4173 just say who?
What a beautiful home. In my hometown there was a similar story. A doctor was building a new home for his family that looked like a castle. It was almost finished when he and one teenaged daughter were hit by a semi truck at an intersection. She got out of the car, but he was stuck. He smelled gas from the tanker and told her to run. She did run and it saved her life. The tanker blew up and killed the driver and the doctor. The unfinished castle sat unfinished and vacant for years until it was finally sold to another family who finished it.
Is this in Gallatin, Tn? Because we have a castle that sold to someone who finished it too.
@@jadynneandedits3908my exact thought! Maybe their financial advisor was busy handing all other finances they missed the life policy pmts 😮
@@neomyhelenavanderhart5813 she probably left it as she probably has money and didn’t need it,
Chances are they had another house or few houses, full of designer gear etc
Husband was a successful doctor/businessman- the wife will of been his business partner
She most likely thought it was too painful to finish their dream home
And decided to let the creditors take it
It looks like most of the expensive stuff was looted
Bad this nike is so expenisw ;)
Looks to me as though the family decided to leave in a hurry. She would have dumped the jewelry into a Chanel exotic leather bag and would have had a great new future. Just walk away from the dream turned nightmare.😢
It’s a lot easier to stuff 50 pairs of Louboutins in a suitcase and 25 Hermes Birkin bags in a garbage bag when they’re not in their boxes.
This is the most exciting tour I've seen on abandoned home's. Thank you for not rushing through it and keeping my interest excited. I want to see more. Tks. From Ohio
Wow just wow! Such bitter sweetness throughout the whole mansion, such detail and that all glass closet upstairs 😍🔥
I lost my daughter, I walked away numb, leaving everything except my sheets, pillows, dog and my truck, we drove off into the sunset, literally!
I'm curious about the wife too. I'd like to find her and remarry...
@@ilseb.420 I'm about ready to do the same thing!
@@tthomas501 make sure in your heart of hearts dear one!
I'm curious to hear "the rest of the story" as well!
Require lots of cleaning.
but betcha they lived better than you while they were here. poor mans saying.
When you have more money than you know what to do with…yes, you would
If I had a huge family I’d probably have a house half this size then turn it into bed and breakfast or something later.
It's so depressing for me to see this home just sits here abandoned and a waste of money.
I hope so, bcs it's a beautilful house, especially the last bathrooms we saw in the videos were nice taste as well, so I hope somebody bought it and people can still leave there, or make a B/B out of it XD hahah lol.
Ya these people are obviously still getting there stuff out of there and he must of asked them if he could film this as an abandoned house ! 😮
I knew there had to be a true story somewhere
¿ LA ESPOSA DEL DIFUNTO TAMBIEN FALLECIO ' ?
Brian Atwood is a high end designer. So is lanvin. Nars makeup etc. The Hermes boxes etc also are worth money. Crazy house! Love your vids!
My heart is actually melting watching this video. Really unbelievable stuff
