He has this bizarre knack for making mashups that end up greater than the sum of their parts. Case in point: "War (On and On, South of Heaven)". Both songs are brilliant, but I got full-on chills from the mashup. I like "Faster" well enough (I won't seek it out, but I won't skip the track, either), and I absolutely detested "Finally". This mashup, however, is fuckin' playlist material with the strong possibility of multiple successive plays because I CAN'T FUCKING STOP LISTENING TO IT!!

The great thing Bill has understood is that ALL Soul vocal melodies fit right into most metal / Rock chord progressions. Mike Patton basically did this for "The Real Thing" and you can hear it again on "Midlife Crisis". If you take any Jamaroquai vocal line, it can top line over nearly any Rock Metal track. Bill, you are a genius.
This goes so well together. I wasn't a fan of the keyboard dance arrangement of Cece Peniston's song. But, her powerful voice with this rock track is pure gold.
It's insane how RIGHT this feels, you know? I grew up Cece Peniston's "Finally" and count is as one of my favorite house tracks from that era. I had never heard of Within Temptation (more's the pity). This sounds so organic and I've been thrash-voguing nonstop in my house while blasting this for like weeks now, I love it so much

Every mashup you publish is a masterpiece, but this one is staying in my mind the longest. Maybe because Cece's growl is getting here the best background for her impressive delivery.
Interesting how this version of Finally is more soulful than the original, which was an r&b track. Something about the chord structure that brings out the soulfulness of the vocals.

I think this sits apart from a lot of McClintock’s work, in that it doesn’t exactly feel like a mashup. There’s no quirky additional guest appearances, no interesting transitions… just great vocals laid over a fantastic piece of symphonic metal. I think Bill realized that he had created something pretty special and decided to simply leave it alone and let the result speak for itself.
This works, but I dont know either of these bands/songs. It just sounds like a female led rock band. That is the biggest compliment I can give you, is that it sounds original and new to me.
Bill McClintock is one of the greatest mashup artists ever. And this is one of the most enjoyable of his 100+ existing mashups. Highly recommend a listening tour of his mashups playlist!

I was happily nodding away to it last night before realising it was 'Finally' with a difference. Brilliant! Should be released as a single in its own right!
