Chic's verse, "A rumor has it that it's getting late / Time marches on, just can't wait / The clock keeps turnin', why hesitate / You silly fool, you can't change your fate" fits amazingly well into heavy metal's philosophy.

This somehow has a more ominous tone than the original Rime of The Ancient Mariner
Maybe because their vocals are in lower octaves - lower notes tend to have a darker feel. And just about anyone's singing is going to be in a lower register than Bruce's high notes. Also their lyrics are sung slower than Bruce's, and slower music also tends to sound darker than faster music.
It's because "you silly fool, you can't change your fate." 😉
It's better than KISS "I Was Made" as Disco-Hard Rock goes.
The girls of Chic are wearing gloves but I'd say Iron Maiden are doing a better job of maintaining social distance.

@@EvikJames Viruses don't just disappear in a year. The flu vaccine has to be done again every year because it evolves and new strains of it appear, and even that doesn't give 100% immunity. Covid-19 is only one of several coronaviruses in the general population...it's just the newest. There's already a newer, more virulent strain of Covid-19, too. There's also now almost 400,000 people dead.

@@rikk319 Those numbers are GREATLY inflated. I've seen reports from MANY different sources including EMT's, nurses and customers, that people who have died from gun shots, car accidents and even heart attacks are put down on a death report as COVID deaths.
The Gov is paying hospitals money for every admission and even more for every ventilated person, therefore it is an easy conclusion they are being paid for each 'death' they register or there are other incentives because I don't see why a Dr. would put down 'Covid' when a person has an obvious hole in the head or chest from a gun shot.
The true numbers are around 20% of any reported figures i.e. 80K not 400K.
I've learned EVERY field has corruption including the sciences & medical, and that's a shame but it's the truth and I speak from personal experience not just the many reports I've read and been told to personally.

+Shai Hulud: As I've said before, it all goes back to the blues. If it wasn't for the racism/homophobia underlying rock's reaction to disco, you'd have to wonder why it took so long for funk metal to happen in the first place. Black Sabbath's "The Wizard" is funk. Led Zeppelin's "The Crunge" is a straight James Brown tribute.
