"Halford openly admitted being a huge Lady Gaga fan, so when asked if he had seen the insane UA-cam mashup of Lady Gaga’s Judas and Judas Priest’s Painkiller by mashup artist Wax Audio, Halford said he had just been watching it again a few days before the interview. “I was watching it with Chris Freeman, who was the bass player for gay punk band Pansy Division. He came to the pre-show the other day and we got the iPad out and he had his mind blown. It has 1,750,000 views. I love it."
Also I remember reading somewhere that a lot of Gaga's earlier stage set was heavily inspired by '80s Priest too, so it makes sense there'd be some crossover
Halford and Gaga need to make this happen live at a Superbowl halftime show or something. You know both of them would ham it up so hard and have an absolute blast.
Lady Gaga is actually huge metal head. She even volunteered to be Iron Maiden's roadie. She said in one interview that is she did not have already massive following she would be playing metal music.
I feel like these songs really contribute to each other, having such different tones. I especially like how she says in her high female voice "Judas" in such a weird way, and then dudes just belt out a short deep "PRIEST!" It's a great combination.
It'll never happen, but if this were ever played live, I can just imagine the singers getting the audience to rip out "PRIEST!" at the appropriate moments. And the general catchiness of the whole mashup means that everyone there is liable to stomping their feet and banging their heads with abandon. You would hear that final, song-ending "PRIEST!" six counties over.
I think this is the best mash-up because: - Mixes two different music genres (very difficult) - Mixes the videos (difficult) - Mix the name of one song with the the other band! (difficult) - The result is original, rhythmic, funny, and contagious (ultra difficult)
This is the greatest matchup I’ve ever heard in my entire life. I’ve never been so moved that I’m literally bawling my eyes out it’s so fucking beautiful. Such a whirlwind of emotions. What the fuck? The vocals the music the sound everything it’s so fucking perfect.
This is seriously the best one of these mashups I've ever seen. I'm a huge priest fan, and this Lady Gaga song actually meshes so well with Painkiller.. Plus the video is edited well enough that it does both Lady Gaga and the Metal Gods proper. Seriously good job WaxAudio
Rob Halford is fully open to record some material with Gaga, she seriously needs to find some time to do it, it would be legendary and hopefully the stuck up metalhead community could see her differently even with the Metal God praising her musical profile.
Everyone secretly loves this mash-up. However, they all say they "hate it" simply because Lady Gaga is in it. Just admit it. You truly do like it and it's truthfully one of the best mash-ups you've ever heard.
As a researcher at the Institute for High Energy Physics in Protvino, Bugorski worked with the largest Soviet particle accelerator, the U-70 synchrotron.[2] On 13 July 1978, Bugorski was checking a malfunctioning piece of equipment when the safety mechanisms failed. Bugorski was leaning over the equipment when he stuck his head in the path of the 76 GeV proton beam. Reportedly, he saw a flash "brighter than a thousand suns" but did not feel any pain.
I come back to this delightful track over and over again. Easily a favorite song in general. Better punch and energy than either of the original sources, and they're so so very much better together.
This, the one with AC/DC + Ghostbusters theme and the one mixing Pink Floyd with the Bee Gees are the crown jewels of all mashup mixing. Seamlessly finding something new from all the songs incorporated and bringing something new to all of them. Amazingly good job.
Priest is my favorite band and I try to be open to all music styles and not usually a pop fan buy Lady Gaga is pretty unique. I do hope the young ones or any age from that matter who maybe had the wrong idea about actual metal, which has been given a bad reputation with all the death metal and screamo emo metal bands, maybe might go back and listen to what they have been missing out on all these years and open up all kinds of new doors for them. I like mashup's, some better than others but this was done extremely well.
She has the voice to stand out alongside the ladies of metal. Were she making metal, if she kept the electronic synths and combined pounding metal drums she could make some absolutely kickass Industrial metal.
See I get that being a factor, but also there's a mash-up of Baby by Justin Bieber and Psychosocial by Slipknot and it works incredibly well too. Also System of a Down is way better when combined with Elton John, and Carly Rae Jepsen and Nine Inch Nails are somewhere right below magic with their mashup. There's something there, I know it.
Once one friend of mine showed me song made by Judas Priest and afterward I found this mix ..... oh golly my friend hated me for it xD but I cant help, I love this mix and I will forever love it. And lol, my frend is forever going to hate me for showing him this mix :DDDD

David J. McGee That’s the miracle of a great mashup :) ❤️
Lady Gaga is actually huge metal head. She even volunteered to be Iron Maiden's roadie. She said in one interview that is she did not have already massive following she would be playing metal music.
I'd be willing to listen to a LG metal song, but alas... I guess she has to look after the bottom line.
I just spent the last few minutes screaming internally, holy shit I want that to happen so badly.
And she's also damn good with jazz! Gaga is a very diverse artist if she gets the chance.

This survives because both artists have probably seen it and just loved it. Well done
The banging drums actually give this song a Rammstein-ish vibe to me. How crazy would that be, if Rammstein covered this song?
Rabin Miguel I can definitely hear that in some parts. Maybe that's why I really dig this mashup besides enjoying both Priest & Gaga separately.
What about 3 Inches of Blood? Halford is sounding like the vocalist from that band in Deadly Sinners
You mean that vocalist sounds like Rob? Right...
Yeah, I was feeling Rammstein vibes, too.

God, if Rammstein covered this that would be the best thing ever

Hi from the future of 2020. I hope you brought your toilet roll with you.

This comment is going to be 5 years old soon and I still love this song.
I can't even imagine being this good at mixing two songs...
let's face it, this is just the "club mix" of Painkiller. and thoroughly awesome
Lady Ga Ga is such a diverse artist, she can do absolutely anything and it sounds fantastic! Her talents are some of the best ever creatively.
Three Fucking Million Views.
A well deserved milestone for the best DJ on UA-cam.
I am now a fan of mash-ups! This is freaking awesome, we love the Priest, and now the Gaga.... what a pair.

Nah, I love it pretty openly.
It's awesome, but I still like the Beiber/Slipknot "Psychosocial Baby" mashup better.
Brad Simpson psychosocial baby is fucking hillarious!
Brad Simpson I think we read the same Cracked article.
That screaming with the beats plus the dancers stomping at 1:53, was what its all about.
This is perfection. Speaking as a fan of both Priest and Gaga, I actually prefer the mashup over the original songs.
