I was considering these two. Thanks for giving the quick overview. Holsters I use for the Fanny Pack style are the Alien Gear Cloak Hook & Loop. It sticks to the inside bag securely. Enjoy!
I was enjoying you and this video .... Right up to the point you said you weren't gonna carry with on in the chamber ... You do you and I'll wish you the best of luck .
Just bought the standard and already looking for something a touch bigger. One thing I wish they did was install double zippers on all openings so you can position your ccw zippers to one side and the other compartments to the other side!!!
I bought the original for a subcompact, and I had to get the XL because I like my gun canted a bit in a bag like this and there was not enough room to do so with the regular version. The XL allows me to do so with a subcompact. I could not carry a full size in the XL for the same reason. I am o.k. with not being able to do so with a full size as I prefer to carry subcompacts for concealed carry. It also has more space for my EDC items. I am not sure why they sent that loop deal. I took it out and never used it. I already had hook and loop holsters.
The XL looks massive holy shit, I got a normal bando last year and was unhappy with how tight my edc fit so I opted for an XL now I am worried its way to big. How tall are you I am 5'9" Also look into 945 industries velcro backed kydex holster
How are you liking the larger version, does it feel lager on your body? I bought the normal a week ago, but im pretty unhappy for the same reasons you are.
@@fathernomad I changed a few of the med items I was running to save a little space and ive now got the standard loaded out perfectly. I do prefer the standard size over the XL but I am running a sub compact EDC firearm. If I had any bigger a CC, I would upsize to the XL.
I think carrying off body with a longer draw time, especially with it in a holster, running the gun hot is mando. After being in a self defense shooting it is paramount to being ahead of the curve, especially under that much stress there is zero room for error IMO.
I personally carry hot, so long as the gun is contained by a quality holster designed to guard the trigger, but I also have a decade of high level training. I don’t recommend random people do things that are potentially dangerous unless they have the proper training and equipment. For the experienced shooter with the proper equipment, I agree with you 100%.
I'm really interested in the Eberlestock Bando. It looks a bit awkward though with that Glonk 48 set up. Why do you need the retention bungee if it's inside the fanny pack? A while back I bought the Maxpedition JK-1 pouch. I wound up with two because they had a BOGO sale. I use it with a Spec Ops 1.75" nylon belt. The footprint is a bit smaller than the Bando but it holds my full size Styer M-9 and Jericho 941 with no problem. I also use the Maxpedition velcro holster with it as it has a full velcro back panel. Access and draw is much faster as well. Sorry, but the Bando looks huge and just screams "Carrying".
Personally, if I’m carrying one of these I’m trying to minimize my equipment for print. Check out my video on the viktos sling bag for a larger bag with molle options.
How are you liking the Xl, does it feel a whole lot bigger on the body than the regular version? I've been running the regular version for about a week, but I've been pretty unhappy with the cargo capacity of the main pocket, I just needed something a little bit larger so I ordered the Xl.
I prefer the size and shape of the original. Although the additional capacity would be nice. I’m reviewing the vertx long walk pack today on my channel. At first glance I think it will be a good In between.
I receive my today in the mail . I like the bag a lot more than the vertex socp. But I was let down completely because the belt is not that long . Doest not work as a sling bag . Wish belt be longer . Unfortunately can not use it . Wish they could create a solution because really love this bag .
Gotta say brody I like your content, simple man like me wanna enjoy your shorts but still be ready, I iwb in shorts but the weight on the waist band is annoying and even though its tight I am still constantly pulling my pants up, Im tempted to get the XL just so carrying a spare mag and pocket IFAK is a bit easier but it looks fucking massive lol
Only thing I get your reasoning but some what disagree with is not carrying hot, but I like that you are training for that and not just doing it you have a plan in place and that works for you which is wonderful I just personally want to shave off any fraction of time getting into the fight that I can since the bag already makes it a bit different then IWB
I do, but I never recommend it to others considering I don’t know their training level and never wanna feel responsible for an armature AD because they saw me carrying hot in a Fanny pack on UA-cam. I only recommend people carry hot arms in quality holsters.
If I’m going anywhere I feel incline to cary extra ammo, I usually just carry my larger viktos sling bag. I’ve got a review of that loadout here on UA-cam as well.
My main problem with this carry method is the actual holster. If you can get a kydex rig in there then great but I just don’t trust the fabric Velcro to keep the gun from going off. I know it’s unlikely but it’s still below my safety threshold.
I’ve got a video on my channel of the viktos sling bag and it’s big enough to receive my kydex CC holster and it’s my preferred edc bag for most occasions. Pretty much running this for the gym or beach. That being said I’m sure there are some good kydex trigger guards that would work well in here, I just don’t have one yet.
I do cary hot. I don’t recommend people that I don’t know cary hot. If your well trained and use the proper equipment, hot is the way to go. Otherwise you’re better off not potentially hurting yourself or someone else you didn’t mean to.
For like a couple dollars you can get hassle free return protection. Which is what I did, ordering both sides and returning the one I didn’t want to edc.
No idea. I never really new that there was different kinds of the same cal. I new different manufacturers. I'm not that knowledgeable about guns. My ex-husband inherited a bunch of guns. He hated it so i took it as my personal one. I never really carried much. But the way the world is getting i feel like I need to start getting serious.
off body and not condition 1? you'd be fucked if someone got the jump on you. get a kydex trigger cover or holster to go in there and carry condition 1
Thank you for doing a comparison video and rocking our gear!
Finally! When looking between the two I found it quite challenging to find a simple comparison. Props!

Great comparison- I bought one last year. My G19 fits in it snugly. I’m debating getting a G26 because my G19 prints to much for me. It’s hot in Texas
I went to the 48 because my 19 was annoying to carry IWB in central Florida where it’s also hot.
SIMPLE. To the point.
Thank you.

About the same height. Yeah, I elected to stick with the standard size even though it’s maxed out.

Will the holster you are referring to fit in the standard with a 43X and light frame?

They need to put MOLLE inside on that inside backside to allow for more options

Do you think the Bando would handle a commander size 1911? I’m 5,11 220 lbs.
Should I go XL?

Check out the viktos sling bag. I have a video review of that bag on UA-cam as well.
They make a matching belt extender
QVO tactical has a Velcro mounting kydex .

There are LOTS of holster/trigger guard option that would work just fine and be perfectly safe.
Like that hostler were you bought it . Can you send me the link
It’s a Viktos, not sure if they sell it separately but it came in the upscale sling bag.
I prefer the standard, the xl for me is entirely too big for an EDC pack.
Same.
I am debating on which one to get I want the smaller one however not sure if my sig 365 macro with red dot will fit in the small one
I ordered both and returned the XL.
That sig will be a tight fit in the standard for sure but might make it.
@@Tier1EmergencyResponse yeah too tight returning
Can’t say I agree with not carrying hot.. you basically have 4 actions to fight through before you actually address the threat.
I do cary hot. I don’t recommend people that I don’t know cary hot. If your well trained and use the proper equipment, hot is the way to go. Otherwise you’re better off not potentially hurting yourself or someone else you didn’t mean to.
I have the Glock 48 with RMRCC and a tlr 7 sub do you think with the added light that it will fit inside the original bando?
Yeah, it will be tight but will fit. I have the same glock and light. Just running a different red dot. Mine is probably a little bigger even.
the second holster is golden.. what is that called?
Viktos hookie holster added to an legit iwb kydex holster would work best.
Were you bought the Velcro holsters ?
Check out Maxpedition for velcro holsters.
Can you fit a glock 19 with tlr7 and optic in the regular one?
Barely.
You think the XL will fit a staccato p or langdon beretta with rhe acro?
Yep, I havnt done it, but I would bet it would fit.
For like a couple dollars you can get hassle free return protection. Which is what I did, ordering both sides and returning the one I didn’t want to edc.
Will a G26 with a Aimpoint ARCO P-2 fit in the original bag?
Not 100% on what the 26 footprint is compared to a 19, but if it’s a sub, it will likely fit tightly.
what holster would you recommned?
Vertx tactigami holster and mag carrier works great
Anything with a full kydex trigger guard capable of attaching to a tie down will work well.
I’m using the viktos in this video and I’m running a tier 1 concealment for iwb.
@@Tier1EmergencyResponsewould the holster you just suggested be fine for a Hellcat pro? I just got mine.
@@jayjohnson4206 id recommend a kydex holster. Several have been recommended here in the chat.
what brand is the inner holster please?
Viktos brand.
How much extra space would there be in both bags if your used a 380?
Which 380? Probably too much space in the XL. Plenty in original.

I have been starting to look for something else similar. Last time at the range it jammed on me a couple times.
Which one for glock 19?
Either one will fit. The standard will be tight.
Can you sling this bag over the shoulder?
Yes.
How is this bag when you wear it cross body?
I have a Viktos slingbag too, review is here on UA-cam. If I’m wearing this one it’s like this. I like the Viktos better as a sling.
off body and not condition 1? you'd be fucked if someone got the jump on you. get a kydex trigger cover or holster to go in there and carry condition 1
I cary a loaded chamber, but don’t recommend random people on the internet do so without the proper training and equipment.
For the love of god, if you can’t carry with one in the chamber do not carry
You’d be surprised how many people cary weapons and don’t train.
Finally! When looking between the two I found it quite challenging to find a simple comparison. Props!
Just a quick follow up, I bought one as a result and it arrived yesterday 😉
