1. excellent review. 2. I have all kinds of bags - fanny/sling/over the shoulder. 3. I haven't worn a pair of trousers, like blue jeans, outside for years. Wear running shorts. Warm where I live. 4. Helikon Rat is nice, I have it. But I preffer Helicon Bandicoot. :) Rat can get big. I mean huge and heavy. Imagine if you stack the front two pockets with things (easy to do) and then you want to draw your gun. You pull the quickdraw handle, the entire front part drops (because it´s heavy) and hits your ... family treasures. Next issue, as mentioned, you can not detach the belt, nor hide it, nor put the Rat on the belt or mole straps. But you can with the Bandicoot. I love that it is more versatile. You can detach the belt. Or not. Just hide it (I call it belt sleeve) and put on a belt. Or put 2 carabines on the loops and attache it to mole on your backpack. You choose. Bandicoot has 1 "body"/hidden, 1 main and 1 front pocket. Main pocket has velcro panel and comes with a detachable organiser. I can fit my full size HP VP9 with 1 extra magazine. Just a pity it lacks the quickdraw handles.
Every small bag like that should have attachments on each end, and also near each corner on the top. This configuration accommodates both fanny pack wear, plus a properly positioned sling bag for left or right shoulder wear, depending on which of the top attachments you use.
Nice, considered this one but ended up with the spiritus larger fanny for full size (g19x) as I love their smaller for compact carry (p365). That tiger stripe hoodie though - who makes that, it's insanely good!
I had a Bianchi concealed carry waist pack it used neoprene as the pistol and spare magazine holster for the inside pouch. Right-hand draw only. The outside pouch had a layer of some kind of padding to protect those items from the exposed pistol and magazine components. It only came in black if I remember correctly.
Good review. If I’m going to carry off body I prefer the 511 sling bag that you reviewed awhile ago. Also, if I’m going to be in the wilderness, I would use a hill people gear chest rig. It will accommodate a large frame pew pew.
Great video, and thank you for making me aware of Hardside Hydration!! That Swig Rig was exactly what I had been looking for, and I've already placed an order to try it out (thank you for the Gideon10 code!).

I'm looking for something along these lines for my canoe trips. I currently use Hill People Gear's chest rigs, and they have a fanny pack which would work but I also really like this one. Very similar except HPB doesn't have full velcro in the back pouch. I think I'm going to buy this one based on your review and the price point. I appreciate your review!

Hmmmm you seem to infer it's more versatile as a hiking pack than an EDC city pack. Years ago people carried concealed in fanny packs and it got so it was a dead give away of someone carrying to the point no one uses them anymore, but they were so damn convenient.

I discovered this bag two months ago. I carry my gun in my waist but I use this bag like a shtf bag, with medical and a krydex insert mag holding 3 pistol mags and a flafhlight
It appears to be well made. From a safety standpoint, I'd never use any off-body form of carry in populated areas as that type of bag screams "concealed" carry. You'd be better off with open carry using a Level III holster. Cross-body or around the waist, you're playing with fire and setting yourself up for a mugging or worse. For in the backwoods, that could work in all kinds of applications. Thanks, Aaron.
With all the stuff on that key ring I would be surprised if you didn't notice the local seismic activity... The duties of being Dad. Thanks for the review, I like it.

Velcro’d in place holster with quick opening elastic pulls, five zipper pockets (four different sizes), and front Velcro patch area for a morale patch, if you so choose. 🤷🏼

That is a very pretty purse and it doesn't scream gun at all :) I have an idea, it's simular to a drinking game but, every time you say "pew pew" everyone has to sv
Having to pay extra for concealed carry components doesn't upset me even though I would use them.. I'm guessing the majority of folks don't need it, so why should they have to pay a little more for something they'll never use. This actually would make for a nice small range bag. It has enough organized compartments to store two handguns, several magazines, and plenty of ammo. Otherwise, it would be a nice addition to a day pack as an EDC bag or a med bag. It's big enough to carry a small blood pressure cuff as well as other critical supplies for people with extreme medical conditions. In urban, high crime areas, several people carry "dummy bags" with fake billfold, fake credit cards, useless keys, and minimal cash. Personally, while inner city, I prefer not to carry any kind of bag that would draw attention to me.
@@michaelbrown8441 No but if the bag opens totally not just into a shallow v, you always risk dumping the contents. Part of the reason I almost never use that method of carry or any off body carry. The other is how quickly someone with a strap cutter can steal it off you during a tussle. But if it works for you go for it. I would just use a holster like crossbreed makes for that purpose.
I found your comment regarding a 'misnomer' about the front pocket to be ridiculous. If you put something into that pocket, and 'forget' to close the zipper...that's on you. The same point goes with any zipped compartment on any bag, purse, luggage, etc.

I wouldn't worry about being too low profile, since dudes only carry fanny packs to carry guns these days anyway. They're literally just a holster with more mag capacity. I assume everyone I see with a fanny pack is packing heat, automatically. Especially really conspicuously tacticool brands like this. But even if I see a dude wearing a Jansport fanny pack, I assume he has a gun.
Can you store a regular sized business envelope in this pack without crushing the envelope? There have been times I needed to transport a few documents, but they're not enough to be worth the hassle of wearing/bringing along a backpack or shoulder bag. And it's summer, so I don't have a jacket with a interior pocket. I've thought about fanny packs, but they're either way too small or basically a sling/shoulder bag.
