Being down in the deep southwest, my typical attire is a t-shirt and athletic shorts for about 359 days out of the year. Because of this, I primarily carry in a fanny pack. Been carrying like this for years and I think it's a largely under appreciated method of carrying. Glad to see some attention.
@@yangtroy1 Fact. I think people look at me weird, but I don't leave my house without carrying. I've seen too many videos of people being rode up on when they're just out getting their mail.
I use the larger vertx fanny pack. I have been carrying in that for the last few years and I love it, especially in the warmer months when im just wearing shorts and a tshirt because then im not worried about printing. I keep a full trauma kit loose in mine just like you keep yours loose. By doing that, it keeps the overall girth of the bag down as well and it doesnt look like your carrying around a cinder block. For my sig 365 xmacro I have a hook and loop kydex holster from eclipse holsters which is absolutely amazing. So cool a company made a kydex holster for fanny pack carry.
Love my fanny pack. As someone who wears tucked in button up shirts, the fanny pack allows to carry a ton of stuff on my person without overwhelming my pockets. I use the Eberlestock Bando Bag XL version.
I run a very similar setup. I like the layout of your pack, might need to pick one up. My pack is a little smaller though (lol). I pretty much have everything you mentioned but I also keep a couple of extra things such as: - Permanent marker (tq etc.) - BIC wrapped in duct tape for fires, and all the other things it can do. - Small coin purse with meds like ibuprofen, personal prescription meds, bandaids, chapstick, nail clippers, lens cloth, water purification tablets, and a small amount of cash. - Bandana, which I’ve used more than once in emergencies. It’s also good for water filtration, fire starting and more. - A spare mag, ya know, because. - Powerbank with cables for androids and iPhones. - A few small zip ties. It sounds like a lot, but most things come in single use packages. Believe it or not, I’ve used almost everything that’s mentioned at least once. If you can be creative and organized, it will fit a lot better than you might imagine. Hopefully this gives some people ideas on what to put in theirs. Stay frosty everyone, things might get a little weird over the next year or 10. Also pray, if you’re into that sort of thing.
I love my fannypack, i started using since i move to Florida, was too hot and uncomfortable to carry ISW. Small med kit, bandaids for the kids, g17, tourniquet, snacks.
The reason I wear cargo pants and shorts.and my edc is always in a hokster...glad to see you back doing well Mike thanks for the great work and info we missed seeing you
I still carry on the same Patagonia fly sling bag I saw you use 7 or 8 years ago. If its not on me its on that bag! Glad to see you back on the saddle! I appreciate all your content.
One thing I would add, which is just my personal preference is a backup/throwaway knife (or a g10 knife). Something you won’t care about if it breaks, or have to throw it away if you “used” it or can’t take it with you into a certain area. Only other thing I’d put in is a handcuff key and maybe like 6ft of paracord to use as makeshift restraints or whatever else floats your boat. I made a little makeshift handcuff key paracord holder that I wrap around the backside of my belt (in between my belt and body) so if you ever get restrained in cuffs you’d be able to access if needed.
I guess my only beef with fanny packs is that it tells everybody in the know that you’re carrying a gun. I see an outdoorsy looking bag on a man and I immediately know it’s a gun. The general public thinks lame dad of course and that’s the only population that would be concerned by me carrying a gun. Also, similar to how my hips hurt after I’ve had my duty belt on for a while, the fanny pack makes my hips hurt after a while. I don’t notice as much hip pain when I carry IWB and I guess that’s because it’s held closer to the body. All that being said, I think fanny packs are a solid option and it lets you carry more gear which I’m always down for.
@Johnny_Cash_Flow so what is I figured I’d help out with the algorithm and put a little discussion on the topic of fanny pack carry since that’s what the video was about?
In Texas it is an assumption that if you have a pouch you’re carrying. But it is still an assumption. You’re never certain unless you ask.. and most people won’t ask lol
I’m retired LEO. In the 80’s many of us carried off duty with fanny packs. They were a great way to conceal a firearm. But as time went on, they seemed to fall out of favor. Not stylish I suppose. Anyway, I’m glad to see they are being used again. I’m g on my to get one. Thanks for the video
By far the most used item in my kit (minus wallet/keys) would be little cartoon character band-aids. No blood or blood, doesn’t matter, fixes almost anything :)
Not to take away from your fannypack, but Volcom has an excellent pack with a rear pocket that can fit a p365xl with a comp and red dot in a holster, as well as about 3lbs worth of other things in the main and front pocket. A really good "grey man" pack
Love it. It would be cool if it came with an elastic and velcro mag retention piece, similar to the piece that holds the "tool" in place. Thank you for all you do.🙏🇺🇸🤘
Back in the 90s when pretty much only people with Fanny packs were off duty cops, the only two time times I got “made” carrying anything was when I used a fanny pack. I also carry pepper spray just in case the firearm would be unjustified force, never know when your DA is going to have a woke bug up his ass.

Vertx socp fanny pack, premier body armor insert, sig 365xl, booboo kit, flashlight, multitool, socp dagger. And i love it as a sling. I tied my buckle with 550 tho cuz the buckle was accessible to someone behind me.
Good set up, however I recommend putting some of the bandaids in your wallet to save time and space. Also a pair of trauma shears is much safer than the scary sharp knife. Another recommendation I have is an ankle med-kit. It makes organizing your medical gear much easier.
I picked up a fanny pack to facilitate carrying all the crap from my pockets. Now I've noticed that i never carry the pack into stores and whatnot, i just download what i need back into my pockets. The bag is usually near me or in my vehicle, so I'm considering a small backpack, which will allow me to carry more items such as clothing and food options
I keep my fanny pack light, gun & spare mags. I have big hands, and anything else in there adds to my draw time. I modified a kydex holster I didnt like AIWB, its installed in the pack bc I liked it better than the elastic band shit. Definitely my favorite way to carry now.
Haha, the casual chickens walking around in the background. Personally i would add a pair of nice scissors, it comes in clutch when you (or your family) need to cut seat belts, clothes, food even without flinging around a sharp knife in a high pressure situation. Not that the knife isn't really nice, just not for everyone, or places where "doesn't like knives".
Great pack. I'm thinking about that lighter in the front pocket. What's the last time you had to make a fire using it? I would rather keep it in the 3rd pocket as it's not "time sensitive" item and, if you don't smoke. you almost never use it.
I keep my lighter in an empty pill bottle so I can keep it dry if my fanny pack is to get wet. I also keep some form of chest seal on my person as well. My pouch in back has orange para cord so I know which one I am grabbing. But I wear a larger shirt to cover mine so it’s concealed.
Appreciate ya Mike, Glad to see ya back and I know FC will grow and be better than ever. I have my FC Fanny and it’s one of my fav carry methods. Stay strong and look forward to more content.

I also have in mine a whistle, batteries for surefire light (lx2), kimber pepper blaster, apple AirPods, small phone battery. This is besides first aid, weapon, fixed blade benchmade altitude
I notice alot of people miss the belt as a good place for little things like small flashlights. Fanny packs are so limited on space. As far as medical goes, I only carry a boo-boo kit in mine. If I were to put a trauma kit and TQ in it, I would hardly have space for the EDC items I use daily. My fanny pack is an EDC item I use around town to carry the stuff I use the most rather than stuff I will more than likely never have to use. I have trauma kits in other bags, in my vehicle, and at home. I can live with the risk that one is not in my fanny pack or on my person at all times.
Rocking the Eberlestock xl bando bag for about 2 months now Highly recommend this bag Love it Only issue I have is where do I put my additional two mags? I also have in mine a whistle, batteries for surefire light (lx2), kimber pepper blaster, apple AirPods, small phone battery. This is besides first aid, weapon, fixed blade benchmade altitude
what a problem solver that would be if many people would be that prepared, but training would also be necessary
Rocking the Eberlestock xl bando bag for about 2 months now
Highly recommend this bag
Love it
Only issue I have is where do I put my additional two mags? I rigged some additional Velcro across from the Cc but adds width to the bag and takes away room from the front two chambers for EDC
I always carry two xtra mags
What do you all do in these situations?✌️🇺🇸
OMG chicken! I like the chest seals in the pack.
The chicken stole the show. At least we know Mike will have fried chicken on the menu soon
My EDC is a pistola, Surefire Stilletto, a wallet, and a Benchmade Presidio 2
thanks for this mike
Great gear
Great load out, good to see you back brother man
I would add a couple of units of Narcan
I would love one if they were available on your site
Nice !! Whats the jacket ? Looks so cool 🙌🏻
Nice kit!
Video is awesome as always but I just can't help from giggling every time that chicken comes strutting into the scene lol
That's what it is! I couldn't figure it out.
@@bradyblackburn4863 LoL it took me a second to figure out what was catching my eye lol
I thing there 3 chickens: 2 white and 1 brownish red.
@@Hewett-l1p maybe right!
