I just bought that exact bezel insert for my watch. I was a little worried seeing there's so many different sellers but after this video i feel way better! Cheers!
Many people in the watch build or modding world are so happy making a costumized watches from a super cheap parts resembling an original face but not the internal construction. For example the Seiko SKX007 the original and Oem uses a round like a ring click spring inside the bezel while the super cheap one uses a wire like tricky spring.
Just build it, what a beautifull watch, so happy with it. Second hand was playing hard to get😂 Next watch is the Seiko GS Birch🎉 Thanks for this great video!
How have you found the durability of the gold plating to be on these? It's obvioulsy not solid gold, so I presume it must wear through eventually. Is it maybe titatium nitride, like the coating on drill bits?
Hey, lovely build! I've got parts for a 'datejust' build on the way! For the NH34, can you set the GMT hand independent of the others, like with a 'real' GMT watch? and does the bezel spin? many thanks
Thanks and goodluck with your build! Yep the GMT hand can be set independently of the other hands, and yes, the bezel is a 120 click uni-directional bezel
Two tone kills it! great work. Is the bezel removable ? because I did with one that has like a stem under and I successfully putted it back but the bezel is moving and I am not able to put it the way it was before. Thanks for your help
Thanks! Sorry I don't really understand your question, you can remove the bezel with by soaking it in some goo remover for a few hours, this may fade the colouring on the bezel tho
Hi JB, this video is great. Just a question, the dial you show while building shows SEIKO, but the one on the link does not. Is this correct? Maybe I look at the wrong link.
If you use a cotton swap and some 90% rubbing alcohol you'll be surprised how much grim comes out of the inside of a new "clean" case and case back. I usually find a fingerprint on the movement somewhere too.
Really nice job well done, I believe before you fit the GMT hand you have to put on a cone shaped washer can you tell me which way up this washer goes?
I've heard that you shouldn't adjust the date wheel while the hours hand is 3 hours before or after midnight. How are you supposed to safely set the date wheel prior to getting hands on your movement? Asking because I think I might have broken the date wheel on an nh34 this way.
7:28 I really want one of these presses. I have the cheap £5 copy of that but can never ever see the hand to line it up perfectly as the press towers over the top. How do you find this press you linked in the description?
When you cut the stem to size, you're cutting the thread side, yes? Two tone looks nice, but not my personal style. I like brushed steel mostly, but If I'm going to go blingy, I go with polished center links in steel.
