Dude, you bash yourself too much. I always enjoy your videos. I'm always impressed by the end results. I hope you are keeping full builds and not having to pilfer parts from build to build. I love Seiko, but every time I see a new one I wish they had done some part different. This build is everything I would want a samurai to be that I'll never find in a watch shop. If this one you've built was in a case for sale I wouldn't think twice. Would love a vid on the current state of your build collection.

Big fan. If you can post a little bit more often, you will become the biggest watch mod chanel on youtube (if you are not already...). Keep it up, awesome content.
Yes! The Namoki hand-setting tool is an amazing tool upgrade. It makes the job so much easier. I love this case and bracelet set from them as well. I've used it a couple times now and it always looks incredible! By the way, the NH34 has a naturally loose GMT hand with lots of play. It's a bit sad but close enough is good enough with those.
Yay! A new video and a long one too. I missed watching your stuff, but wow Dan, this build is one of your best so far! I also enjoyed your mistakes commentary. It shows what we can learn and displays your growth through all your builds. It's a fun journey to watch! ☺️
Brother, at 34:30 minutes, first stick the sticker completely on the ceramic insert with the inside, then take off the inner sticker and peel it off. After that I stick everything in the bezel, it works much easier every time than putting it on the bezel.
I was absolutely entertained and yes this is one of the most beautiful watches you've made so far. I hope you keep making videos like this for some reason I find them soothing anyway have fun getting rid of those specks on the 6 o'clock.
It's nice to see you back! I really enjoy your content. I'd love to have a go myself putting together a watch. It's so relaxing watching other people do it though. Keep up the good work! 😀
Awesome build Dan! This combination of GS/LX/62MAS/MM200 parts looks amazing and like something Seiko could make for sure. The gold accent is a nice touch. 👏 I personally prefer the MM200 hands over the 62MAS hands. The Namoki hands look a bit too rounded and soft compared to the sharp Monsterwatches hands. However, I like the brushed LX bezel better than the polished one to balance out the rest of the case and bracelet. Sounds like I've been putting hands the wrong way too, as I've been using the 1mm and 1.8mm tips all this time. 😅
Dude, THANK YOU for this video! I’ve been struggling to find the right GMT watch and I’ve also wanted to build my own at some point and this video is EXACTLY what I needed! Really appreciate your content! 🙏
Hey I watched one of your videos on the mm300 namokimods watch. I had to have one so I contacted them mentioning you and that video and they have been the best I have seen to deal with Thank you so much for your work
Your modesty, honesty and enthusiasm make me happy to be part of The human race! I love your videos and you know... I might actually try this one day : )
I'm right there with you! I've actually gotten fairly good at doing it wrong but I look forward to learning how to do it correctly. You just corrected my mistake. Much obliged!
I've never replaced hands, but in researching parts for my 1st build, various movements specify 3 measurements of the pinion, and hands correspond to these measurements. It never occurred to me that you were using the wrong tools; I always thought you were just so good that you could use the same tool for every hand and knew how much pressure to apply. I only respect you more for your candid admission of your revelation.
My second build was a GMT SKX , a year on I must revisit it and correct some of the little errors I have now learnt to avoid including hand alignment .
Thank you, I'm enjoying your videos very much. Saw a while back, recommending cutting the bezel insert tape into two semicircles. Handy where in your case, the tape's diameter is larger than the bezel or the other way around. Also easier to handle two pieces than one full circle of tape.
Unreal video! Piece came out incredible, 62mas style is truly unmatched. Love seeing the journey as always, the frustration and mistakes along the way always makes the end result feel worth it even more. Can't wait for the next one!
Im currently building a Samurai styled GMT! I feel like that is a much needed mod for the samurai. It will be my 2nd nh34 build. I should say oversizing an oem seiko dial was a very exhausting process :3
The watch turned out stunningly beautiful. I have already been inspired in building myself a SPB185 after your video back 2 years ago. Hands on the watch are also slightly off in color in regard to lume but I accepted that as monster watches was out of stock for MM hands at the time. Still own the watch and is my most worn one.
Great build!! What a wonderful dial, the gold indices give a very nice and luxury touch!! You could definitely sell these watches, just think about it!
Amazing build! After watching your videos i really want to give this a go so i ordered some parts from aliexpress and are gonna try to make my own watch. And this video really gave some good tips.
I've made a couple of NH34 watches and found that you have to set the GMT hand just a touch to the left of 12 to get it to match the hour position. After it's set, it immediately pops forward a bit.
This build is beautiful! Learned a lot from your videos, and I like that you share your challenges and mistakes - it is a very inclusive approach and I hope you continue to do so. God bless you!
If you want something that will take those burrs off the dial, you can use a countersink bit with your hand and lightly twist it in the dial hole to remove the burrs. Like just let the weight of the bit act as the pressure you apply. It works for small stuff like this as a deburring tool and I got it to work well on my NH34 build that uses an NH35 dial. Much cleaner and easier to use than going in with tweezers or rodico to clean it up. Keep up the wonderful videos!
the result is mind blowing, I got a mm300 homage and would like to try something but I'm afraid to fk it up, the watch was super cheap but it doesn't reflects the price, looks super expensive and the lume is out of this world, and now they increased the price... I should have bought 2 or 3! 🤣
You know I was going to start simple for my first watch, even so far as one with a pre installed crystal, but I can't stop thinking about this case. I'm even tempted to use a Miyota movement to really test my mettle.
I Love your videos, because you are a total watch nerd that just loves to build, learn and share. You are very much like me, we are very hard on ourselves and our worst critic. Your watches are beautiful, and as with everything in life, we learn as we go. And if you’re like me, my latest watch is always my favorite. I no longer buy watches, because the is no satisfaction like looking down at your wrist and being able to say, I made that. It’s your idea, your build, make it how ever you want. Keep up the good and keep posting. Cheers.
I absolutely LOVE the bracelet on my Tissot PRX Auto 35mm. Is there any aftermarket bracelet that fits a Seiko as good or better than that one? Thanks!
The MM200 hands, hands down (no pun intended) are the best. How is the lume of the dial. Does it manage to stay as long as the hands? My 62Mas dial (same as yours) the lume is not OEM level, it fades very quickly in comparison!
Its pretty good, both the dial and the GMT hand do dim faster than the MM200 hands, but the glow retention is still decent later on in the day. Heck, the "Swiss X1 lume" that he uses at MonsterWatches seems to be even better than Seiko lumibright at times.
I so want to build a pink colour seiko, dial, bezel etc but I wouldn’t know where to start or find the relevant pieces in pink, nevertheless thanks for sharing so clever mate Love and peace from Ireland
Big fan of Namoki, I got the exact bezel case combo you got, but the click sounds too loose for me, which I heard the same thing on your. I'm still trying to find a better gasket for the bezel to make it tighter.
You're having trouble with pressing crystals because of the cheaper press You're using. I had that same press once and found the upper part flexes away from the base. Nice build!
Dude!! This is SO awesome, is there a way there's a chance to buy this from you? Would be so great! Love the colors, the way you put it together, the size, everything just matches up! Please let me know if there's an option there!!
Sorry my friend, I don't currently sell any of my watch builds. With all the mistakes I tend to make, i'd probably end up selling them at a loss if I did. And this one already has scratches on it from wearing it so much. I'll probably post something if that changes and I decide to sell any. But I'm glad you like it!
I always have issues with the NH34 GMT as well! It seems almost impossible to align reliably. The misalignment also seems to change as you move the GMT in the 1st position on the crown,.
Not currently, the bracelet is designed specifically to fit that case. Would be great to get some more 5-link bracelets in their store for other cases though!
52:40 just turn around your watch on the back and dip the bezel in alcohol or acetone and wait for 40min,after that ceramic bezel will be so easy to seperate, infact next time you even don’t need to take off your bezel ring!!
Hi mate, nice build, it's so nice that I decided to discard buying spb383 and mod something like this. Looking through you old videos I noticed that you already used mm300/200 cases. If you were to build it again, would you use GS case again or maybe switch to mm300/mm200 cases?
Honestly, if it was a build that didn't need a chapter ring then I'd still go for an MM200 case. But as for MM300 style builds... I think i would actually go for the GS case now. Those extra lines on the case add so much to it and the bracelet is just fantastic. Heck, the bracelet alone is worth going with the GS case. But when looking at my SBDC051/MM300 case build and comparing it to the GS Style build in this video, the cases are similar enough that the only reason I see for not going for the GS case is if you want a smoother overall look since they're similar enough in size and shape. I held them up next to each other and just thought "yeah, the GS case is just a nice overall upgrade". As for the SPB383, I'd say its perfect for this GS case if you want the extra lines and details, as well as the bracelet. Since you could just do the build from this video, but with an SPB185 dial and a silver set of SPB185 hands with a yellow or gold GMT hand and a Black calendar disk. If you do end up building something like that, please come back here with links to photos as I'd love to see it!
@@ItsAnotherWatch, thanks for the reply. To be honest, I am leaning towards the exact build you did in the video-it’s impeccable! However, I’m concerned that I might be too inexperienced to replicate it myself. I would be happy to order this build from you, for an additional cost as a service, of course. If you do not create builds on request, could you recommend any reputable builders whose services I could use?
@@happypianoboy9913One of the main reasons I don't sell any of my builds, or offer building services, is that the buyer would be getting an inferior watch due to my amateur skills, cheaper tools and lack of water pressure testing equipment and timegrapher. And unfortunately I'm not really part of any watch communities so I don't know any builders that I could recommend.
@@ItsAnotherWatch hi mate, I did it, I built it! I changed some parts of the build, but your build was the main inspiration to me. I think I will post it on reddit as well.
Bezel 3m tape always puts up fight. I've tried fixing tape to bezel inset and direct on the bezel and I always find it's slightly oversized and needs a little trimming.
I have great frustration with getting quality value tools. There are so many tools that are subpar online that it's near impossible to know what to buy. How did you arrive at the crystal press you selected?
@@daleyfamily2179 Your reply wasn't actually worth any value. It didn't share where a quality tool with value could be found or a recommendation of one. So, this was you feeling snarky and expressing your ignorance.
The one on AliExpress that I briefly showed? I looked up a BERGEON press and then looked for the AliExpress versions that were the same in appearance. If I do end up buying one I'll be sure to show if its any good or not.
I love the videos you post, really inspiring. I’m in the same situation where I need to widen a dial hole - what’s the name of the tool you use on your pin vise? Thanks 😊
It was one of the tips that came with my Rotary tool (seen in this video removing the dial feet). I searched "diamond tipped rotary tool bit" and got something like this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201537539277 I hope this info helps!
I had same issue with miss-aligned GMT Hand on NH34. I found out, that when preparing setting the hands, the alignment to 00:00 at date switch moment, the gmt hand adjustment function should be used/rotated too, to bring the GMT base do its right "border"... where it always will be, when adjusted later too.
I soaked the dial in acetone. And wiped it clean. Use some acetone on a Q-tip on the back of the dial if you want to remove and preserve the indices first (if they have lume or something you'd like to keep).
@@ItsAnotherWatch I understand, thanks. Would you build one for me and sell it to me. I’d like to have a watch like this, with some change especially for reducing the price a bit. Without the beautiful rotor, without thru case back, without the signed crown. With this bracelet, case, a crystal, dial, handset, brushed bezel, 24hour inner ring and same bezel insert.
@@maxhamilton8204 I don't sell my builds unfortunately. I'm not a professional builder, I'm just a hobbyist and I don't have the tools or skill to build these to the standard that I'd be happy selling.
Hey Mate ! Your work is amazing ! Bravo ! 🎉 I’m based in Switzerland and I would like to know if you sell your creations ? I would be very very interested. Let us know in the chat. That would be great. Thanks again ! Greetings from Lausanne…. 👍🏻🤟🏻✊🏻
While I can't confirm it for certain, I always ask the sellers on AliExpress if they're OEM or aftermarket and they tell me that the dials are OEM. I've had a lot of aftermarket dials and these are not like those, not even the high end aftermarket ones. I've bought OEM dials from WatchPartsPlaza, TokeiLab and such and these "OEM" AliExpress dials seem to be exactly the same as those, in terms of quality, print, lume, stamped indices and detail. I guess I take the sellers at their word when they assure me that they are OEM and the quality seems to match up as far as I can tell. I'm not trying to be disingenuous or anything when i say its OEM. So If I am wrong I apologize. I've always just assumed that SEIKO probably has factories in China and the AliExpress sellers get hold of these dials somehow.
I had a similar problem pressing on a bezel. Like you, I used the die that fit inside the bezel where the adhesive and the insert goes. When I switched to a larger die that hits on the top/outside of the bezel, it snapped right one. Might be a matter bending or pressure and leverage. Also, to get rid of the burr around the enlarged dial hole for the NH34 (even expensive broaches leaves them), use a countersink bit for metal. Just a few spins with the fingers on both sides will take the burr right off. I see sets of 4 on Amazon for 10-12 USD. You might find a single 1/4 inch or 4-5mm single bit even cheaper. Great video and good luck.
OK legit question, if any company or person made a copy of any watch and put a non factory dial with the name of the watch, i.e. Rolex, doxa, etc. it would be called fake. So how does putting a non factory Seiko dial on and its called modding and not a fake, isn't this by definition a fake Seiko? Now test it to 200m and show its a 200m watch. That dial is not a OEM dial you stated clearly in the video then at the end you claim its a OEM dial. BRUH!
Bro... If you haven't done this yet... You should also start using the zoom glasses..thyy look like a mad doctor Googles that have magnifying glass you can swich... Get ones with LED lights.... The view is amazing!!!! The third hand was always a nightmare for me... Now it's as easy as putting a pen on the table 😛😛😛
Came here from that other video. This is a great build and instructional video too. Thanks, it gives more understanding of how this is all done from a hobby enthusiast. If it's possible to make a wish, may I suggest you create a new series of short format videos (UA-cam Shorts or just 3-4 min videos) on all these steps to build a mod from scratch? Also, it would be of really great value to understand more of what a particular tool does and where on a scale of absolutely necessary to nice to have it is. Btw, do you have other social media?

@@ItsAnotherWatch sure, I will update you with the results!
Well then don't shop aliexpress. Skilled labor isnt cheap, and cheap labor isnt skilled.
@@ItsAnotherWatchthank you. Do I gather that the red screw-down was just not strong enough? Level?
I find it best to set the GMT hand then rotate it to the 6:00 position then fit the hour hand at the 12.
@@ItsAnotherWatch Ah amazing - thank you!
At last you are building mod with a seiko style DNA with an SKX007 rotating bezel click spring. I like that one than using a case like a steeldive...
I forgot to say: It looks very very great!
Do you sell any of the watches you built?
Hi, quick question: how did you clear off the blank dial (your junk dial) ? I have a dial that I would like to do that same too.
I soaked the dial in acetone. And wiped it clean. Use some acetone on a Q-tip on the back of the dial if you want to remove and preserve the indices first (if they have lume or something you'd like to keep).
@@ItsAnotherWatch thank you so much. Appreciate you and your content!
Hey, is it for sale? I love this built.
No sorry, I don't sell my builds. Besides, I've been wearing this one so its got scratches on it already. I'm glad you like it though!
@@ItsAnotherWatch
I understand, thanks.
Do they not do a gs dial ?
Dan do ya have a build list w/links for this beautiful piece?
I've linked all the parts in the video description with links. The only link that isn't there is the dial since that listing is gone now.
Is the bezel worn on the final watch of the video slim Is it normal?
The final bezel (the polished one) is a normal bezel. The brushed one was the slim.
Hey Mate ! Your work is amazing ! Bravo ! 🎉 I’m based in Switzerland and I would like to know if you sell your creations ? I would be very very interested. Let us know in the chat. That would be great. Thanks again ! Greetings from Lausanne…. 👍🏻🤟🏻✊🏻
The GMT hand doesnt line up at 6 and 12 but it gets aligned again at 24. Weird. I think its a NH34 thing
Where to get the dial?
If you search Seiko OEM dial on AliExpress you can find a whole bunch of dials. Thats how I found the listing for it.
@@ItsAnotherWatch do you mind sharing the link?
Im sorry but that dial is not OEM like you said in the video.
So then by definition to the question I asked this watch is a fake.
@@daleyfamily2179 It's a genuine seiko movement, but yes of course it's not a real seiko watch, it's a mod/custom build.
39:49 USE A DIAL PROTECTOR YOU MADMAN
In the previous shot I tried but it wouldn't fit under the GMT hand, and I needed to get them all off. So that's why I did it.
Hate to be that guy, it's a beautiful build, but the date wheel is misaligned :(
rotor looks good but out of place.
BRUH!
It doesn't make sense just like many things in life.
it's his watch and he obviously doesn't care, so why do you?
@@taham33 Again clown, its a legit question is this not a fake Seiko?
@@daleyfamily2179no need to call ppl with a different opinion than yours names...
It's okay when it's SEIKO. Huge modding platform.
I don't have any other social media, just this UA-cam channel.
