You just saved me from a really bad day of not having my garage door shut as it normally does. Going out of town and this happens. thanks to you, i can leave now! LOL. SUPER APPRECIATED!

`unbelievable my wife and I were sitting in bed and we’re wondering if we’d have to get a new garage door and watched a video and we had the exact same problem thank you so much for saving us a lot of money :-)
Thanks for the great video! You mentioned cleaning the lens near the video’s end. So before trying to align the sensors, I gently cleaned the lense with a microfiber cloth, though nothing visible was on it. That fixed it, no alignment needed.
I had been struggling for over three weeks, and this was the first video that explained everything so clearly and concisely. I deeply appreciate your effort. Thank you so much-you've saved me a few hundred dollars.
Thank you!!!! I did everything right but I never got as far as the sensor in the bottom which was blocked by some stuff. I cleared it and now it works! I appreciate it!
Thank you so much! I had this issue today and tried to adjust Close Force but no use. Until saw your video and found the sensor was blocked by a small box. That's it! Again, thank you!
My sensors weren’t blocked, but I didn’t see the lights indicators that you pointed out. Thanks to your video, I was able to determine that it was a loose wire. After wiggling it, the light came back on and it worked. Now I know what to check if it happens again. Thanks!
Thank you so much I practically clean my whole garage making two or 3 feet from the sensor worth of room. I knew to adjust the sensor up and down, but I didn’t realize how to align the signals once I realize that concept instant fixed thank you so much. you save me hours.
Thank you for this!!! I had the same exact issue. After watching your video I went to fiddle with the green sensor and it was still not turning solid green, I messed with the yellow one too and that worked to align it and the other safety sensor turned solid green and the garage door closed!
This helped. Thank you. Mine was a matter of the sensor coming off and being put back on at the wrong height. It looked fine and the door would start to close but then stop. I measured the distance, reattached at the right height and all is good. Amazing that a 1/2" off would muck things up.
At the 4 minute mark when you talked about safety sensor I felt dumb lol My garage door wasn't closing and I'm going crazy trying to figure out whats the problem. Problem was I had a bag filled with lawn blocking the safety sensor. LOL. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for this! My door wouldn't close and nothing was in the way, so this helped me check the sensors (we just shuffled some storage items in our garage so after watching I thought we might have bumped one out of alignment). Funnily enough, our sensors were still aligned - but there were thick cobwebs on both sides! Cleaned them off and then everything was fine. :)
Thank You, this worked! After watching the video I went back to my garage and saw the light blinking on the sensor. The other sensor had a spiderweb and some dead lives in front of it, after removing it started working.
Thank you sooo much, I've been looking this problem up all over UA-cam to find out that it was my green sensor that needed to be adjusted a little. Thank you so sir !
Thanks, this information solved my problem. It led me to troubleshoot the sensor lights, one of which was the culprit causing the garage door to not be opening/closing.
Just checked this on my door - I found that while the yellow light on the sender was on, the unit was loose in the bracket. Thus it was off-kilter just enough that the receiver wouldn’t see it. I tightened the wing nut for the sender and recentered it in the window of the bracket, and voila! The green light on the other side came on. Easy fix.
It was a very helpful video. Also this video makes a great party game. Just take a drink after everytime he says “safety sensor”. I lost count before I passed out!
I was about to say, that did not help, until I pressed the damn garage and it closed. I actually cussed. Thank you so much because I was walking and doing everything that you said and I’m like , “that shit did not help!” Well impressed the button and your what seemed to be bullshit, helped. Thank you so much cause I didn’t know how I was going to close this heavy ass garage.
If the amber light is not on, get a ladder and look at the connections on the garage door opener itself. The vibrations from the motor are causing the wires to make intermittent connection to the terminal. I have an old Chamberlin ca 2000 model. There are 3 wires going to the screw terminal in the middle. They are different gauges and should not be forced together under a screw head. Disconnect those 3 wires and twist together with a new 4th wire, approx 6 inches long is fine. Secure with a wire nut. Now attach the other end of the new 4th wire to the middle terminal. Voila. Fixed.
My safety sensors, securely, seek each signal sending light across space.but my suffering succotash of the garage door is still not moving up down or sideways. Any suggestions?
pressing enter on keypad will not close door. Now I have to put code in then press enter from keypad to close door...sensor not blocked, battery replaced. advise
I had the flashing red circular light (Genie). I saw that the sensors were "working.": Green and red lights on, with red light blinking when something blocks the red sensor. Then someone wrote on the internet that the lens could be dirty. So I took a wet rag and cleaned the lenses thoroughly. Finally the garage door opener started working again.
You just saved me from a really bad day of not having my garage door shut as it normally does. Going out of town and this happens. thanks to you, i can leave now! LOL. SUPER APPRECIATED!

Thank you!!!! I did everything right but I never got as far as the sensor in the bottom which was blocked by some stuff. I cleared it and now it works! I appreciate it!

Thank you, a wire on the yellow light was loose and was not lighting. Must have bumped it. Thank you so much. Saved me $$
Thank you Todd!
After watching your video I was able to remedy myself and now I know the sensors have two colors.
Thank you very much for this! I was able to fix my garage door myself because of it! Thank you!!!

My safety sensors, securely, seek each signal sending light across space.but my suffering succotash of the garage door is still not moving up down or sideways. Any suggestions?
Fwiw I had this problem but the sensors were aligned. Eventually I sprayed garage door lube on the rails and wheels, and that fixed it.
Thank you sir!!!!! That was exactly it.
Great video thank you
It would have been helpful if you showed how you realigned the safety censors
You put your fingers on one sensor, and point it at the other.
Genius! Thank you! This was so very helpful and I was able to close it…. Object was obstructing sensors. Don’t I feel silly.. 😉😁
Thanks for watching, and I am glad this video was helpful and you were able to get it fixed!
Don’t feel silly. At least you didn’t have to call someone for diagnosis or repair before finding it.
This helped me so much, thank you!!
