I’ve flown Cape Air several times while I was doing contract work on Cape Cod and Nantucket. They were Cessna’s then. My last flight from Nantucket to Boston Logan they let me sit in the co-pilots seat on an evening flight. A pilots view of Logan Int’l landing while the city lights of the Boston skyline were coming on! Unforgettable flight! I was connecting to Jet Blue to Denver.
Thank you so much for not using music!!! No really!! Thank you!! Great video, cool plane!
It sounds like the #1 was having a hard time starting, and they pushed off anyhow with #2 and tried to start it as performing their engine runups while in motion, and it sucks they PIC and SIC didn't sync them. My brothers (3) are captains with DA, HA, FE. They all started out in piston single and twin-engine planes and remembered how that sound would be annoying on the ground and in the air.
Great video.
Mahalo,
Noa
Can't wait for more of these unique planes! Speaking of which, I fly a Twin Otter (one of the shortest flights in the world at 7 minutes and then another flight that is 35 minutes I'll also fly) and Saab 340 next week! Flew some old classic 737's not too long ago as well.
I'm doing my best. Sadly, flying on small airlines in times like this has proven to be difficult. I've already had multiple of them cancel my flight. One of them was weeks in advance. So, we'll see what happens. I'm supposed to fly Denver Air Connection on their Dornier 328 on October 26th. My unique aircraft next week is the Boeing 757-300.
@@sla31 Nice, that's fine, no need to rush or anything. Dornier will be interesting for sure. I've been on the turboprop one before, not the jet yet. 757-300 is a variant rarer than the -200, so that's cool.
I’ve been subscribed to your channel and watching your videos for quite some time and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and enjoy your content. I really like the way you always have a wing view, fantastic! And the quality of the video itself is quite excellent. Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us. 😊
I really appreciate that my friend. I'm glad you enjoy the channel, and I'm happy to bring all of this content to everyone.
Love the sound of those 4 blade props on takeoff
Really cool lookin aircraft, great replacement to the 402s (will kinda miss the 402s though). Hope to try cape air someday, safe flying man!
Me too although I haven't flew on any small props only turboprops like the Dash 8's & ATR's!!!!!!
Flying ku flyin lekhideichha ki ?
Sorry
11:14 You can hear audible alarms, such as stall alarms in the Tecnam from the cabin! Just like an enlarged, twin engine Cessna 172!
@@Ozgrade3 Makes sense. Nowadays Garmins are also common in Cessnas.
That beautiful approach!
Wow that nice plane!
Subbed. This is brilliant flying content. Crystal clear footage, good sound, ambient. Thanks for creating these vids!
Thanks my friend. I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel!
The p2012 definitely looks like a great plane to fly
A very nice video! Great prop view!
Wow really cool
This is a neat aircraft! Looks very sleek!
Excellent.
Cute plane.....loved the video.
A worthy replacement for the 402. Now that I know how it sounds I might have to give it a try!
I don’t think that they should replace the 402 but I love this aircraft
@@nathanborino4923 yeah the 402 is definitely a good airplane. They could keep that thing flying for much longer. Its faster than the 2012 you know.
402s are life limited.
Nice video!
Amazing video of an unusual airline =)
Nice one👌🏼👌🏼🔥
Have they ever thought of going to Midas Muffler???
Looks like a great ride. It would be great to see videos of Cape Air in New England. Both in the Tecnam and the 402 before it's gone.
Nice bro
Oh, a little piston engine action today, eh. Very nice. To be honest, this is the first I've ever heard of this aircraft.
It is a new aircraft. Think this company is the launch customer. I'm surprised its not a turboprop rather than piston.
I actually talked to someone at Cape Air about this. Cape Air was the primary airline behind this aircraft's development. They specifically wanted it to be built as close to the Cessna 402 as possible, so they didn't have to retrain their pilots. Hence why it still has piston engines and not turboprops.
@@sla31 I'm sure airlines flying the Cessna 402 will invest in this plane as they eventually phase out their 402. Were the Cessna 402's retired due to age? I'll miss seeing the tip tanks at the end of the wing.
@@thecaynuck4694 They are life limited. Once they get to a certain flight time and airframe age, time just creeps up and maintenance really becomes an issue. They can also reach a point where second hand components are the parts supply they have to use. Those are serialized parts that are tracked, not junk parts. They are still safe and serviceable, just not new. Generally, about that time they will start looking for new aircraft options.
Yup I will fly Capeair P2012 Traveller fa sure Can you do one on Silver Airways with there ATR42 & 72-600 Fleet between Orlando to Hunstville.
Where those aircrafts are manufactured??? And it’s replaced the Cessna 402
Tecnam is Italian. The runway at their factory is a grass field. Which gives you an idea of its capabilities.
sad too see how quiet STL is nor compared to what it used to be
Chalk this up to mergers. When 2 - 3 airlines merge into 1, the number of flights diminish and the prices go up due to lack of competition.
Lycoming Power, the best.
👍🏻👍🏻
Were the pilots doing the run up while taxiing? Is that common and do they have to do it for every flight?
Naw. Since they had to taxi to Kansas before they took off, they just ran a little faster.
Nope,it didn’t sync. : (
What didn't? The engines?
Yea bc some people’s cameras get synced by the propeller during take off
@@official_southy Oh, right, the FPS effect. I see that a ton on Q400's and other planes.
Wow very spacious aircraft!!! How many other airlines have it’s??? Look like a spacecraft LoL 😂
Only Cape Air and Zil Air in the Seychelles so far and they are made in Capua, Italy by S.A. Tecnam.
Yeah, there are only a couple of airlines that operate them, but they were specifically designed for Cape Air to replace their aging Cessna 402's. Cape Air pretty much approached Tecnam and said, "can you build us a special plane to replace our fleet."
I hope that the Cabin Crew handed out some ear plugs for the passengers on this flight, or free hearing aids for later in life!! I even had to turn the volume down on my TV to watch this LOL. I've been on a number of Bombardier Dash 8's before and I thought they were loud, but the Lycoming piston engines in that Tecnam were even louder :-) Regards from the UK
They did not. I did wear my own though. I knew it would be loud haha. Thanks for watching!

Not yet, but I am getting the iPhone 12 Pro to replace my iPhone 11 Pro. Shhhh, it'll be our secret for now.
Pesawat p2012 ini bagus sekali dan saya ingin mencobanya...👍👍👍
I’m surprised these were built with piston & not turboprop engines.
Less maintenance, easier to fix and keep going, and the pilots don't have to have certain endorsements for complex aircraft. A lot cheaper for Cape Air to have them like this than with turboprops.
Fixed gear has to be slower.
What was the airport they took off from?. At first I thought it was Boston Logan but then it got too rural too quickly to be that. THose Lyco 540s sound nice and smooth. I'm curious how the FADEC ignition affect mag checks and prop cycles before takeoff. Looks like it will be a nice aircraft for Cape Air. I recently checked and they had 82 402Cs so it will be a while before the transition is completed. Unfortunate about the Cessna 400seies wingspar issues. Now it is affecting the 210s and wing strut attach fittings on 172s and 182s. And then there is the PA28 and PA32 wing spar issues also. Its a bitch getting old.
STL is St. Louis. I also list all that information in the description of every video, then you don’t have to wait for me to reply. Thanks for watching my friend.
@@sla31 I must have missed that. It was late. UIN is Quincy,Ill?
@@peterdegroff7318 yes, that’s correct. A tiny little airport.
Nice video, did it sting your ears on arrival cuz that’s a very loud airplane
Yes it did haha. It was very loud. I actually brought earplugs and it was still loud.
Not a Tecnam fan, have many hrs in behind the controls...
I've actually heard a lot of people who work the Tecnam say they aren't a fan. Both pilots and ground crews. Apparently they are broken... a lot...
?
Lol that was too Cringe to flying one of those airplanes 😳😂
That's the best kind of flying.
@@sla31 ok I see you 😅
No pero que vista tan cula, si un motor y de resto ni tomas de cabina ni nada más...Muy malo
