A few things. First, this was a rough flight. With the winter weather conditions, it made it extremely difficult to film. So, the filming quality of this flight isn't quite up to par as far as I'm concerned. I didn't want to waste the footage though. There isn't much I can do when the window is covered with de-icing fluid. This is winter flying for you. Also, this was filmed several months ago. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic I am not traveling, and I strongly discourage anyone from taking any non-essential flights. That being said, this channel is very important to me, so I stockpile extra footage from every trip to make sure I have enough footage to continue uploading even if I am unable to fly for any reason. So, you will continue to see daily content on my channel during this unprecedented time. I currently have enough footage to continue with daily uploads through September 2020 without stepping on another aircraft. Fly with me here on this channel, not on real flights! At least for now. Stay safe everyone!
The 2 flights I've had with the CRJ-200 have been over 2 hours long, and were certainly the most cramped and uncomfortable flights that I've had to date. That being said, I still find the sounds that it makes to be relaxing.
That's weird, the plane's not intended for 2 hour long flights, more 1 hour max. I don't mind comfort on short hops. I blame it partly on the airline for the cramped config as well. It does sound good, but it's also reliable and very safe. Necessary for regional travel. It would make a great business jet, which it was developed from, but it's crazy how many people's opinions change of a plane due to comfort.
I've flown in and out of Denver about a dozen times and nearly every time it's a rough ride. I believe it's due to the mountain waves. And of course the winter flights, like this one, make conditions worse. Sure is beautiful over Colorado though. I enjoyed this and just want to again say thank you for these great videos.
Outstanding Footage man! I understand that the recording wasn't the best due to the conditions but that is fine. Your quality is always up to expectations!
@@RandolphMcguttersmelf There simply isn't a big reason to wash the windows as during takeoff and inflight the water or snow built up on the window is moved off due to the speed and winds.
Phenomenal sound quality! I worked for Air Wisconsin and chose seat 13A almost like a private cabin because it was close to the lav. What did you record this with?
I worked for Air Wisconsin at Dulles Airport 2010-2011. My favorite aircraft to service was the EMB-145. The only thing I liked about the CRJ200 was standing behind the exhaust pipe in winter to keep warm before pushing the plane out
interesting how the spoilers came up then shortly went down and went back up again. Wonder if there was an issue they way they were armed or the pilot prematurely disengaged them and then realized that he needed to bring them back up?
Yeah, I'm not really sure. There were several other people discussing this in the comments when I released this video. Besides a mechanical issue or the pilots accidentally disengaging them early, we don't really have any other plausible explanations. And unless one of the pilots ever happens to see this, it'll likely stay a mystery haha. Thanks for watching my friend!
Kids these days don't know true freedom and how we used live. It's sad they've never experienced the days of being able to leave your house l, dine out at a restaurant or walk closer than 6 feet to another human being.
How would you rate this flight on the scale of 1-10? Were flight attendants, gate agents, and ticketing employees mean or generous/kind? Was the plane well maintained and clean on the inside or it was trash n dash job? I've heard United got a lot of flack in 2017.
Don’t get me wrong. The flight was great. As an aviation enthusiast and pilot (private pilot) I loved it. I meant rough as in difficult to film well. Thanks for watching my friend!
Hi Skylite, despite the de icing fluid, it was a good flight. We will be back in the air, before you know it. Stay positive, stay focused on the task at hand, most of all stay healthy.
Winter flying is a whole different animal, Man they soaked the wing in de-icer. One thing I cannot understand, and that is the need to distribute snacks and to pour soda into plastic cup. Just give me a can to drink out of. Last time I flew it was KPHX-KCLE nonstop on a Frontier, I did not wish to mess around with a credit cart nor pay $4.00 for a soda, So I flew the trip without. After I dep the A/C and got my Rental car, there was a Wendys very close. Stay safe and healthy.
Deice fluid is orange, anti ice fluid is green. The latter is designed to keep ice and snow from sticking to the wing after it has been cleared by the deicing fluid.
Nope. I’m definitely not. I’ve been pinning a comment to every video explaining how I’m not traveling and this was pre-recorded. Also, the video description has the flights date listed, which was months ago. If you’d like to know more check out the pinned comment.
A mere 2 months ago this was filmed and yet how things have changed--airlines were making money,no sense of what was to come, almost like being in a time warp! Here in Texas, the temperature has been in the high 80's, it was disconcerting, upon opening this video, for me to see snow flurries! I always wonder how a/c taxi about without fear of hitting an ice patch and sliding about! Being that you live in snow country, how does an airport bill the airlines for deicing fluid? Do airlines pay a flat fee for the season or are they billed per aircraft? Places like DEN,ORD, STL,must go through thousands of gallons of propylene glycol and it stinks! Was flying CWA-ORD on AE,a ERJ,the ventilation system pumped in the odor of the fluid and it reeked! One would think the engines would be shut down to avoid sucking in the glycol. I would hope, with repeated applications of the glycol over time, it wouldn't damage the paint or discolor it--upon takeoff,it didn't take long to reach blue sky! Very odd landing--upon touchdown, the spoilers went up,then down. Only after reverse thrust was disengaged did the spoilers go back up again!
That's definitely true, but I can tell you why it is this way... So, Tulsa is one of my home airports and I've had the opportunity to discuss this exact thing with the TUL management team a couple of times. It basically boils down to this... United has to send their 50 seat jets somewhere, and even though TUL can easily support even 737-900's, it is right in the middle of multiple United hubs. 541 miles to Denver, 585 miles to Chicago, and 429 miles to Houston. Tulsa suffers from it's geographic location here, where it may be able to support larger planes, but it makes more sense for Untied to send them elsewhere, leaving Tulsa left with a lot of 50 seat regional jets on United.

Maybe next time use the wipers so we can see out the window.
@@RandolphMcguttersmelf If only that were possible. Next time I'll text the ground crew to come wipe it off before we leave.
They were being real risky taxiing at V1 with all that snow in Denver 😂😂

I love that takeoff sound. Crj aircraft have one of the best takeoff sounds

Don’t you think he could have used the window wipers? 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
@@RandolphMcguttersmelf Yeah only the cockpit windows have wipers.
I don’t believe that’s true at all. The ground crew could have squeegeed the windows. Sad - Just laziness.

I like how the de-icing process makes the wings have a green tint until it wears off. Must look funny on a United livery CRJ especially
Reminded me a little of the rainbow soap in some car washes. Just more slimy.
Phenomenal video from the beginning to the end. Thanks for this.

I’d rate it a 7 - ginger ale was warm and flat.

Interesting to see a Jetway on a CRJ. At the airport I'm working it's not possible so all people have to walk down stairs or via bus boarding :D

Waooouuh so beautiful !!👏🏻😍😍😍
Good sound, and flight, but i have a question: why the pilot released the spoilers, than removed and released again?
wow long runway
I think that's the earliest I've seen the pilots retract the spoilers after landing.
I don’t think the pilot intentionally retracted them that early because he does put them back up after a second of them being retracted.
Spoilers are automatically deployed when aircraft weight is on landing gear.
@@TheRiverChurchAlton I never knew that, and I was going to be a pilot
Great video as always, do you have any Southwest AIrlines content coming up?

I've never seen a plane 'bounce' coming into the terminal but hey..👌😏👍
Qué lindo este vuelo. No se escucha de fondo a un niño llorar🤗🤣
I remember DGS ran the UE Ramp!
4:07 be careful taxiing so quickly into the gate, icy taxiways can result in skidding in a light aircraft like that.
thanks for vid !

CRJ200ER !
Wtf happened to the spoilers?
A great question that I don't have the answer to haha.
I have been to crj200er
Wow
Wow! That plane was going too fast when it took off
High altitude means thin air, which means longer distance and higher speed needed to get off the ground.
Firm but not terrible landing.
Have never seen spoilers upon landing deploy, retract, deploy, retract. What gives?
guys why do you like my comment and not leaving me alone!

I'm surprised they don't charge the people for antifreeze.
They do, it's part of what you're paying for when you buy a ticket 😂
Dummy driving the tug at 0:16, I’m guessing he does not know that aircraft had right away! Put himself and people around him in danger

crj200er is better than just crj200
This route is better on a E175 or a A319, this plane is too cramped.
