It should improve marginally from 12 but don't expect it to dip below 10 unless you do only open road driving at steady speeds. We recently had the Amarok Aventura (which is fitted with the same engine) on test and over a week-long test period, driving around town and on the highway, it averaged about 11 - and that's driving modestly. Expect that number to rise sharply whenever you flex the muscles of that V6.
