You're a f*cking godsend! Thank you for making this! I've just recently moved from Pro Tools and could not wrap my head around some of the shortcuts and mouse modifiers in the mix window. This was super helpful!
Very useful tips! I was wondering if there's any option to pin a bus or track in the mixer so that it freezes in it's position and doesn't move while scrolling, just like how we can dock the master track seperately from the mixer..
@@IDDQDSound I use it often cause at least on such powerful computers like mine in a big projects undo action causes a little audio drop out, and with alt it happens seamlessly always. But of course we can’t do redo then.
When I get a lot of tracks they start to stack on top of the other. Is there a possible way to avoid that? And possibly make like pro tools where you scroll from left to right if you have a lot of tracks within your project.
Question - unrelated to hot key.... your colors look brighter than mine. For some reason, the colors I choose in the palette always get darkened on that actual tracks and channels. How do I stop that?
I have a question, when I set this up how you do it with the master track and 1 single track showing on the left as a pseudo track inspector, my single track shows 2 tracks instead? How do I make it show only one? I tried increasing the height but it just changes how many inserts/sends I can see.
Hi, how to get a better overview inside a large project, maybe 100 tracks, when Is like to add fast a send or sidechain without searching through all my channels? Which workflows of using sidechain are possible and how to sidechain for example the third and fourth Insert channel plugin by different sources? Thanks and greets
Hey this is a really good question. Maybe this video where I go over my huge film sound template can help: ua-cam.com/video/7njNzGvYSGc/v-deo.html You can skip the first part and go to track views etc. As for the sidechain question, with most compatible plugins you can just drag from a track's routing directly to the plugin to automatically select the sidechain inputs of the plugin.
Also for doing sends in a big projects we can use this side “track inspector”/mixer channel. Choose track which you need to send from so it’ll appear on your sidebar in a mixer, then scroll in a track panel to the track you’re sending to. Not selecting it. Drug from a routing button in a mixer from one track to another track in track panel. I hope it’s understandable how I describe it 😄 That’s for usual routing needs. For sidechaining it’s better to drug routing directly to the plugin, so it’ll automatically assign an external channels.
Hey! One thing I need is - selecting two tracks, holding something and drag volume or pan in one direction while other track mirroring that move in other direction. That would be great in many cases. Is it possible now? And one another thing comes in mind. I often changing height of meters/faders in mixer so it looks more obvious where is what. In case when I already have my tracks with different height, moving them holding command/ctrl cancels all this height differences. And changing each one is annoying. What I need is to be able to select tracks and change height of these tracks only. And better if it’ll keep difference of heights. Maybe it’s more of a request to developers, but maybe you can help me or us to figure out at least some of this. Thanks)
Hey! Good questions. For the height situation I have this action set to cmd+shift+mousewheel: View: Adjust selected track heights (MIDI CC relative/mousewheel) but yeah you're right if I use my vertical zoom action to adjust heights of all tracks it will reset everything to the same past a certain point. Kinda annoying. Doing pan moves and Volume moves in reverse would be fun too! The only way I know how to achieve that is too complicated to be worth doing. Much easier to just do it the old-fashioned way. Could be a great script request!
@@IDDQDSound cool, I’ll definitely make this custom action for myself. Height of selected tracks I mean. Can you tell me where I can post my suggestions for a future Reaper updates so it’ll reach developers? I have a bunch)
If you have SWS: Select the track you want to copy, run 'SWS/S&M: Copy FX chain from selected track' Then select any number of tracks and run 'SWS/S&M: Paste (replace) FX chain to selected tracks'
Tight.
Thanks :)
Also, we gotta get you on a livestream and geek out soon!
Duuuuuude, its like you are telling me exactly what my brain needs. New software can be very disorienting, but you make this shit easy!!
I'm so happy to hear that! Please let me know if there are other topics you like me to cover :)
I’m going to have to watch this over a few times. Lots of info
My Channel will thank you for it haha! Sorry if it's a bit too fast :)
The track inspector tip is nice & useful ! I will definitively create a dedicated screenset !
Glad you liked it :)
very well put together 💙
Thanks buddy! And thanks for buying me 3 coffees :)
Amazing video! Informative, to the point and funny. Thanks a lot man!
Thanks so much for the kind words :)

Hi! This is a great idea and unfortunately right now it's not possible. Would love to have this though :)
about the faders, ofc you can hold both Shift and Alt to make preview on one fader from selected group
MIND=BLOWN :D
noice I didn't know this. I honestly don't use the audition fader option too too much, cuz I'm so used to just using undo and redo :)

Thanks a lot! That's gonna really come in handy!
My pleasure :)
Nice video man. I didn't know about that option-fader movement for paranoid-mixers, good to know.
haha yeah happy to help :)
You are doing a great job for all us.....thnx a lot!
Thank you!

Hello can I set the mouse to behave like a regular selection tool instead of a range selection when I use left button?
Nice. Short enough to easily rewatch every time my old brain dumps it all. (Yet again)
Haha I know that feeling. Would you believe if I said I sometimes have to watch my own videos to remember? :)
@@IDDQDSound I love typing Reaper shortcuts into Resolve and Resolve shortcuts into Dorico and ... on and on forever.

TH=hank you very much!
Thank you Sir, you helped!
Glad to hear it :)
as usual amazing and useful
Thank you :)
Awesome!
Do you experience flickering when changing screensets? I'm on windows 11 with a high spec PC and it still occurs. Bothers me a lot.

do you mean you have 2 tracks on top of each other? if yes, right click on the grey area of your master track and untick 'show multiple rows'
@@IDDQDSound ah yes! I did eventually find this out watching one of Kenny's videos. Thanks anyway!
