Neat. Just getting back up and running for game audio. Thanks for sharing it all. This is going to be way more fun than my last game audio project(~5 years ago), and I used regions for most of that.
Global Sampler is something I have attempted myself to record Reaper's output in Audacity for instance. I've often found I get interesting effects from plugins when starting and stopping playback at random but there's no way to render this within Reaper, or whatever your DAW is. Amazing, so glad I found this. Thanks
It's even better if you put Global Sampler on the Monitoring FX! Then it also records when you 'scrub' (ctrl+middle mouse button) or do other stuff in Reaper without actually pressing space bar.
@@karim0302 I learned! I had bought the bird things "rolling sampler" which is the vst version. In order to get it at the top like in the video, you need to install the "global sampler" (non vst) from the rea script
Global sampler is gonna be a game changer! I ALWAYS have amazing random sonic inspirations that disappear into the ether. I going to download this asap
Knowing that NVK is a paid plug-in I thought all of them would be the same. As soon as you said that Global Sampler is free I snap out of my dream about what plugin I'd buy in the future, what a beautiful surprise. As always much love to you Akash
OK I'm curious about BirdBird from what I seen it records on the background and you can drag it to the actual recording after. My question is does that apply to narration or is it just instruments? Since if it was able to be used with narration I could easily drag my correct lines down and leave the mistakes off my actual recording. I'll save me time on the long run.
Amazing content as always and very interesting tools! I was trying to find ‘Global Sampler’ after watched it being used in a sound design video of other channel but never mentioned the name …Thanks for sharing it!
Yup! I go into that in my Reaper series and it's solid. It's just a LOT slower when you have dozens (if not hundreds) of sounds to render and name for a game.
For global sampler you can put it in your monitor fx instead of the master track since a lot of people never use monitor fx and you can forget about it. I don't really get the point of Content Navigator.. how it different from just using the track manager?
Yup! I show that Monitoring FX off in another video. Track Manager is fine, but the content navigator is infinitely faster when you have hundreds of tracks.
would love to see these features in bitwig. :( mainly use bitwig for sfx because its super fast with the grid and modulation stuff, but when it comes to exporting and bouncing its just a big horror.
@@lucienmontandon8003 The paranormal FX router script for Reaper is more comparable with FX grid in Bitwig, but if you are looking for an equivalent to Polygrid for modular sound designing, then I'd recommend the free and open source plugin Cardinal.
There's nothing *exactly* the same, but there are few things to look into like Kilohertz's Snap Heap. If you really love combinator and use it all the time, though, I would just buy the Reason Rack plugin that lets you use Reason's effects, synths, and plugins in any DAW and work that way.
It's been a while, but I just learned about this tool that may be a big help for you in Reaper. Not the exact same as Combinator, but check it out: forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=263622
I'm so surprised you're using Mac! I'm a long time Mac user but looking to switch to PC because it runs UE4 miles better and I can game on it too, have you considered switching?
I have both! Mac is where 100% of my sound design + creation happens, and I have a gaming PC specifically for UE4 for the exact reasons you mentioned! That said, I didn't even have a PC for a very very long time and it worked out fine!
Global sampler doesnt work with different screensets. And also I need to run the action and load the plugin everytime, even if I save it as a template.
@@AkashThakkarAudio I managed to fix the loading issue with the global startup action. Plugin is good and I will buy it to use with other daws, but you cannot dock a plugin in reaper. Anyway thanks. This is a really useful plugin for soundfx.
You should put the global sampler listener on your monitoring fx insead of master chain, more CPU efficient (and tidier) EDIT; yeah and just saw the other comment with another important advantage
All of birdbirds scripts are so excellent (and beautiful). Item modifiers is insane. And I have a minimised fx inspector + fx parameters docked to the left which replicates the way bitwig presents tweaking of plugins.
Yes, it's free. The new plugin version is $19, but the original script version, which is what I used in this video (linked in the description) will always be free.
Composers and mixers too, Reaper is just ahead of this time compared with concurrence (workflow, business model etc). It becomes more and more popular.
nonsense. In Nuendo you can do so much render sounddesign group stuff, same as in Reaper. But: Nuendo effects are top notch. Reaper comes with nothing. Cant live without SamplerTrack for very fast sounddesign tasks e.g.
@@Byron101_different strokes. Cubase and Reaper are right next to each other in terms of sound designer flexibility. The big issue with cubase for me was cubase's stability and redundancy of the interface. The plugin window, inspector, midi editor and arrangement had too much clutter that I couldn't get rid of. Cubase's stock plugins are kinda trash ngl. 3rd party all the way.
NVK folder items sounds super useful, but it's so annoying when they don't just let you purchase the thing you want by itself, and instead force you to pay for other things you don't really care about :/
Nick is a genius. All of his tools are simply amazing. Nvk create and loop are two absolute bangers!
That Global Sampler is extremely useful! thank you!
Just started following your channel this last week and am blown away but the generosity of the totally solid information you share out. Thank you!

Is there a way you can dock the monitor window at the top without showing the reaper ui?

Thanks for showing me those plugins. Got the Global Sampler. Great tool for sure.

so glad, that I stumbled upon your video! Tons of valuable and practical info
