KTM Super Duke - £15,749
Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory - £17, 199
Ducati Streetfighter V4 - £17,795
Yamaha MT-10 - £12,499
Good value I'd say, will test ride it once covid has done one!
Tuono RR is £14k so the Speed Triple is priced really well
The band 'Slodginessabounds' did a song called 'Michel Booth's Talking Bum'. Could be his signature tune....
@@viowithcrailtap It's pretty easy to find a Tuono Factory for £14-14.5 towards the end of the season though
@@deadlyair that's fair enough but the prices of these bikes isn't based on what time of year you're looking to buy one.
I mentioned the RR cause it's price is really good. Not everyone wants the Factory.
15:10 to hear what the bike sounds like
Hero
Thank you!!!!!
Still dumb to rip a cold engine. Plus bad showmanship to demonstrate sound by doing two rips. Now go ahead and delete my comment again. 🤡🤡🤡
Merci bro
@@firebladeflow doubt it was cold.
Cheers for the constant content lads, makes the days a bit easier
Agree!
I see all the channels releasing their Speed Triple videos now at the same time. And you beat them all by a long shot. Currently minimum four times the views of MCN, 1000ps or MOTORRAD. No wonder, thanks to your great job lads! Thank you!
It was all under embargo, hence the mass dumping of the new bike! And thanks by the way...
Now I have to convince my wife that we don't need a second car... we need a third bike!
Takes up less room in the garage..
“It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
You know what to do....
Quick question. Is this a decision a MAN 💪can make himself or does he need to ask his wife? lol.
God I love Triumph. The way they ask customers what they are looking for in their bikes and how they can make them better is so awesome to see. Definitely one of the best manufactures at the moment I think.
Whats best is they listen to the good suggestions and ignore the crap ones instead of trying to make everyone happy.
And that’s a stock can ?? SWEET JAYSUS !! 😳🤤🤟🏻
I usually don't bother with full systems as modern bikes have enough power as it is but I do like slipons mainly for looks and sound.
I don't think that bike is gonna be needing one lol
The two pipes into the can looks way better than it should
Is everyone blind or what? It sound great but the look is awful!!! Reminds me of a CB500F exhaust...
@@Porkycheun Might not be the best looking exhaust around, but it's no latest model GSXR1000 trash can exhaust either.
Certainly looks good enough for me to save 500 bucks on a slipon.
@@Porkycheun better than Sarah huckabee
I had the 95 Triple for a few years, loved that bike .
11kg less than Tuono factory...amazing job Triumph! Not extreme as the competitors, but solid, balanced, elegant and (for sure) reliable package. Need a SS kit now!
This is an absolutely brilliant move by Triumph. Now they have a truly competitive supernaked. I hope more companies go in this direction.
Fucking awesome!!!!!! Well done Triumph and well done 44teeth, great overview
Triumph is KILLING IT with their bikes.
Love how all other bike reviews are 4 and 5 mins long and 44teeth is 21 mins, lockdown boredom sorted for a bit
almost all reviews i see of this bike is around 12 min. other than the ones not in english
"May have overwhelmed your mic?"... more like "May have BLOWN OUT my eardrums......" lol
There is no demand for Triumph SuperSports because there is NO Triumph Super Sport. As in Rome, Build it and they will come. Just as BMW did with the S1000RR.
I tend to agree but if they do they can't just put a foot in it they would have to throw everything at it to be competitive and that's a lot of coin and some huge competition.
Triumph probably would if they had the financial certainty to make that risk. At the end of that their a business.
Middle weight supersports seem to be dying but superbikes aren't - most brands have them. Just add a fairing, clip ons and boost the power to 200bhp on this and you have a contender. Maybe.
I was gonna bring up something about displacement regulations regarding different cylinder counts when it comes to racing but even street 4 cylinders superbikes are now over 1000cc anyway.
They released a super sport a couple years ago. 765 Daytona. Is that not super enough? Last I checked anything 600 and above designed for track is supersport. The limited release and 17,500 price tag allude to them knowing their limited and boutique clientele.
I just gained an all new respect for Triumph for listening and delivering 🙌
The best execution of the new headlight style by a mile.
Hi 44 Teeth,
How refreshing to finally see a manufacturer bring a motorcycle to the market that has all the bells and whistles straight outta the box. No extra costs to add features, no lesser models that lack performance.
Great looking street motorcycle 👍.
26% better power to weight ratio ... that’s all you need to know! Level up for triumph 👌🏻
I love my 2017 street triple 675r .I can't imagine how fast this thing would feel having basically 70hp more...this bike is madness
Great preview, questions and answers from the management and chief engineer. Nice one 44Teeth it Looks and Sounds great!.
Triumph really seem to be knocking it out the park recently. It's a sweet looking bike! Can't wait to see some ride on reviews. Cheers Guys!
This looks amazing, the speed triple is back!
Fair play to the Triumph rep, no sales talk just straight, honest answers
No electronically adjustable suspension is fine. You take the time, dial it in for yourself and then you ride. One dialed in setting for street, get to know YOUR bike and it's predictably. Save some weight and complexity as well. This bike seems like a big step up for Triumph in the naked category.
That sound gave me funny feelings and I have a V4. Might be time to trade in.... 🤤
Depends which v4 you have I guess. This doesn't sound better than a tuono I'm sorry, that's going to be hard to beat sound wise. Id love to have a go of this though.....see what it's like.
Good job Triumph, love what you have done with this beast and I'am a Tuono owner but you can't deny England has got a beautiful and powerful super naked here.
I can't wait for a 44teeth review of one of these!
"...a lot of that development come from conversations with customers..." so, i hope they fixed the double-pump front brake issue then
Not even run in my 1050 yet that I got last year 😭
Wow every man and his dog are on this today still glad I went for the Superduke
Nothing comes close to the Superduke for shear Hooligan feeling.
Lovely, Boothy is spot on. Clips ons and and a fairing and there's your superbike. Come on Triumph, give us some colours!
That is a lot of praise for an expensive and untested Taiwan made bike.
Made in Thailand, not Taiwan.
As someone who's owned a 1050 speed triple for just over 12 months, I'm ever so slightly super jealous of this new beast. Glad to see the speed triple back up with the big boys in terms of kit
Not enough to have me regretting my S1000R M pack order, but still a big upgrade on the last model.
The fact they didn't give it any more power is really disappointing. I have a '19 single R and I really wanted to move up to the new model, I guess I'll have to wait to throw a leg over it.
@@latemnf more power for what?
@@testbox3201
The 2021 BMW S1000R has an all new engine that makes the exact same power figure as the outgoing model.
@@latemnf so more power, what is it for?
Not for you clearly? Lol
Was thinking of upgrading my 2016 S1000R with the 2021 version but this new Street Triple has me leaning more toward Triumph than BMW now.
Thanks guys for that, really enjoyed the preview and looks like Triumph have created a winner here with this bike!
I like how you guys kept asking the track and sport bike questions and the triumph guy kept going its a new street bike .. lol its now a speed triple its a new bike like he was getting pissed
All my track riding mates say my 2020 Speed triple is a weapon on track despite the massive HP deficit against their SuperDukes and 1299 Panigales. Michael Rutter also proved the same point back in 2018 at Donnngton where he lapped it faster than a SuperDuke and some sport bikes but it was slower than the Tuono. Looks like this bike is a true contender now. I can't wait for you to test ride it
That frame is beautiful.
Love the video, great quality as always! I have always preferred the underseat exhausts on the speed triple as apposed to the low boy. I'm a little bit disappointed there isn't a underseat option
That's probably why it weighs 198kgs 😜
Seriously tho, I'd consider an underseat if it weighed a fraction more than the Arrow 3-into-1. The stock system was 15~17kgs iirc. Never laid hands on my original exhaust system because I ordered my new 2016 with the Arrow system fitted by the dealer, but it was supposed to be a "dozen kgs" lighter than stock.
Then again a dozen varies between bakers and chicken farmers so... 🤷🏽♂️
People are asking for a sport bike from Triumph with the introduction of this bike and engine, but the truth is that this IS the sport bike. Race Reps are Irrelevant anymore.
No, it is not the replacement for a V4S to do track days on but being totally realistic, most of the people wanting this bike and able to actually purchase it with real money are older and already have their sportbikes in their garage or had them and got them out of their system. I am exactly the customer Triumph is going after with this bike-I'm at the end of a long line of very good sportsbikes and what are essentially trackday bikes. My garage has 7 bikes currently-five are mine and 2 are my Fiance's. My bikes include an R1M, a GSXR1000k5 bought new in '05, and an EBR1190RS Carbon Edition, which is an AMA legal race bike with lights. I'm 48 and like a lot of people, work for a living-my body hurts at the end of the day and riding the R1M means crunching aspirin like candy after a 4 hour Sunday ride or I hurt for two days. It's funny to think that the GSXR is the 'sensible' option of the three, but I enjoy riding it as much as the others and, frankly, not being as punishing to ride is a good part of it.
Then my Fiance replaced her R1200R with a Street Triple RS last summer. Holy Hell, what a great motorcycle. It's everything I want in a bike short of a a good dose of top end power, which is exactly what this new Speed Triple 1200 RS is. For years, I have bought bikes mostly for what they do and not for what they are. That Street Triple is a bike I look forward to riding as a basic motorcycle than the ride itself-I love being on it, and I can't say that about my other bikes unless I'm going into or out of a corner at full chat.
If this new Speed Triple is what it sounds like it is, I'll be selling the Yamaha and Suzuki to get one. ' The truth is that the lowly Street Triple is every bit as fast as my superbikes until the speeds get above 110 or so down a curvy road and even then it's not by a lot-not many places you can do 130+ in the twisties.
The Speed Triple is the bike I need and Want, if they offered a sportbike I wouldn't care anymore. I'm at a point in my riding where getting the frame on a superbike to flex on the road is how hard I am riding-It's beyond safe and reasonable (for *Me*...you do You). Giving the Speed Triple a 180hp motor with torque everywhere will likely be faster for me and the way I ride anyway-gutting the midrange to give a few ponies up top and stuffing it in a race-rep wouldn't do a damned thing for me.
Thanks for making this bike, Triumph!
Really like this , when I first head of the under seat exhaust gone was worried but this bike looks awesome
Great video. Think Triumph have missed the point with rider modes and electronic suspension. Most riders don’t mess with suspension settings when spanners and screw drivers are involved but are more than happy to select preset modes and even dabble with custom settings when it’s just a toggle switch away. Having firm suspension for fast road and track and two up or soft for touring, town and wet, just a press away is gold to most and now expected, really makes a bike dual mode, fixed, manually adjusted suspension really compromises the bike in most situations.... saying Triumph didn’t added it because of weight is BS in my opinion, it’s cost and time not weight.
Ngl that bike sounds like a blast to ride. Cant wait to hear what you lads have to say after giving that rs a rip
Now give us a 210hp Daytona XD
I love the looks of it, can't wait to grab a demo
Triumph designs one of the best looking Naked bikes the speed looks awesome well done!
Hahaha, "no, you can shove it up your ... " Honest opinions, love it!!!!
I don't know anyone that prefers key less ignition so who are triumph listening too?
@@oscarantonioalvareztapia9913 certainly not me. I am the type of guy that needs to go back and check that I locked the front door, at least twice. A key fob sounds like a nightmare. You can shove that right up y....
Bravo Brits!!! Finally a true Speed Triple!!! Will be on my shortlist for next winter bike shopping!!! Thumbs up!!
Cheers from Melbourne Australia where there is no covid and the sun is shining.
I've always fancied the big ol Speed T but been a bit unsure or not "convinced" shall i say. With this one though...phhhwaaaarr!!
It's been a long long time since I wanted a new poster on the garage wall. Looks tasty
This does look very tasty indeed. Can’t wait for the road review. Well done Al and Boothy👍
Always solid 44Teeth....better coverage then other channels...Thank you so muchhhhhhhhh👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lovely bike. Nothing like the sound of a big triple.
Never realized how many motorcycle youtube pages I follow until this morning my feed was invaded by Triumph. This is the only video I needed to watch though. 👌
I genuinely believe this is the beginning of the end of the Speed Triple... no S or R model... going all in against the supernakeds.
The speed triple was an affordable bike, and perfect for the road.
I currently have a 2011 and used to have a 2012 R... awesome bikes and never that expensive.
They're putting it out of reach of the average biker... if they had a lower spec S or R model priced at 2 grand less they would sell a lot of them and still some of the RS.
Superbikes have been spec'd and priced out of the normal market and they're doing the same with the supernakeds as well.
I make well above the average wage in my job but I won't be parting ways with it on a supernaked that is spec'd way above what I need for the road. .. bring out a new MT10 (at a similar price to the old one) and I might be tempted.
After Taylor Mackenzies video the other day I never skip your adverts, you guys deserve all the pennies you can get! Covid has made me a better youtube addict..
I really hope some of these design elements trickle down to the "Street Triple RS" I like the belly pan and the new dash. Good job Triumph.
They didn’t talk to this customer.... I have a everyday Daytona and a track Daytona, I want a super bike.
And no I’m not affluent and well off. I drive a 2005 Legacy and don’t ever eat out so I can ride bikes.
The amount of S1000rr, RSV4 and Panigales I see on the road everyday suggests that there is a market there.
What colour of breeze block would you like! 😢
It's a damn shame, Triumph used to offer some cool colors on their bikes: diablo red, roulette green, caribbean blue, racing yellow, imperial purple ...
@@Daniel-gb9ex it will come, i'm sure. But another year to keep interest
@@UA-cam_Globetrotter They won't offer any interesting colours. Triumph nowadays is run by suits, for suits; so it's grey or black only. Great bikes, just a little "safe" and samey in presentation and operation. Like a halfway house between a KTM / Ducati and a BMW. That's something they have in common with Aprilia at the moment. I think it's ridiculous that the most interesting bike of the bunch is still the MT10.
Can't wait to try the new one though!
@@identiticrisis If I didn't already had I bike, I think the grey would be something I could buy this year. But I wont. Don't need new bike at the moment.
@@identiticrisis Nah. Most interesting by a mile is the Kawasaki ZH2.
Thanks for having decent content to get me through lockdown lads keep it up 🙏🏻
1:57 anyone else notice the amount of backlight bleed on the screen. Ouch! This is why you use an OLED screen. They are widely available too at this particular size - the whole phone industry has pretty much switched to them so it should be very easy to source.
It's been a long time since a new bike gave me goose bumps
I follow motocross and supercross, so I do not know much about his racing career, but excellent high-quality natural presenting from Michael!
No electronic suspenders!.......................Thank GOD! Previous attempts by Triumph on the discontinued Trophy, I'm sure tried to kill me three times, the last attempt almost succeeded!
That was brilliant guys enjoyed every minute of that can’t wait to see you test ride one
Finally a ST3 I really rally want! Kudos for fixing the exhaust pipe and the passenger pegs of all the previous generation. The tail now looks sexy as is. I want one!!
Boy, the new headlights look so much better. From Goofy to Mean. Sounds kind of like a two stroke dirt bike.
It sounds insane! well done Triumph!
This is very smart of Triumph. Don’t water down the flagship naked. Let it stand on top, and let the Street Triple cover the middle ground.
Now all I have to do is wait for my black one in July !! Can't wait for this bike
I have recently found your channel, what a refreshing surprise. Your content and production are beyond any other content on here. That said, I've always liked the Speed Triple but I wish they would bring back the round, single headlight preferably. However I do own a GSXR and I hate their headlight design, so maybe it's not such a big deal lol.
...and where is it going to be built I wonder? 10 000 mile service interval you say mr triumph? If you want to keep your warranty it'll probably be 10 000 miles OR a mandatory yearly service whichever comes first which, in my Trading Standards job, most people never factor in (don't read the small print) then get spanked during a warranty claim
Good thing I ride 15000 miles a year anyway haha
@@Blockbuster2033 Nice one Blockbuster but don't let boris find out you are riding 15k miles this year otherwise that fat b'stard in a white wig will send lilly law round your house to check if you are breaking his lockdown rules which he was told to force on the UK by the chinese communist party as part of their virus new world order programme
I was hoping it would be this bike mentioned in yesterdays video. What an amazing sounding stock exhaust!
Great content as usual. The bike looks like it has come of age. Should be great.
Best looking yet - headlights looking very Streetfighter-esque, not a bad thing as they look much better than the protruding insect like headlights seen on the previous models
Refreshingly honest talk from the Triumph guys. Also, funny how Triumph suddenly discovered mass centralization after KTM has been going on about it for years
Excellent questions about refinement and styling, and it sounds massive
the speeds most distinguishing feature was the high level twin exhaust , it just looks like the rest of the naked bikes ,looks like the ducati
15 Gs! Every man's triumph? Yeah right.
What did you expect it to cost? It's got all the proper Gucci gear on it, find another naked with the same spec for less.
They should make an R model. 20 grand US dollars for this and the majority of people that will buy it will not even use 60% of the capabilities, but they can pose and say it got muh Ohlin's.
The exhaust tho...darn that Euro 5!!!
The last RS was the gentleman's Tuono. I have the Tuono V4 1100F and I immediately felt more comfortable at lean on the last RS but when you cracked the throttle it was just missing that oh shit factor. This could be just the ticket to make it more exciting. Now if they can make sure the electronics are reliable then I could see this cutting into sales from other OEMs. Still pretty expensive though.
If they did a tourer version like the superduke Gt it would be amazing
A Sprint ST 1200 or Tiger Sport 1200 would be amazing.
100%
Yep 👍👍👍
More interested in that than a sports bike TBH
@@Daniel-gb9ex tiger sport 1200....oh yesssssss
Didn't think Boothy was gonna ask about electronic suspension but we got it....
Can I get one with my Sainsburys delivery please?
Really looking forward to the ride review lads.
Majority of people don’t want a sport bike. Everyone wants a sit up position with heated grips and cruise control. That’s where the market is. I think Triumph is really smart not going into the sport bike class. All the other manufacturers that are selling sport bikes really struggling to get rid of them.
I gave up talking to reps at the Bike shows for a SuperBike.
Still got my K5.
I make my living racing Harley and Suzuki, but I absolutely love this bike, always have !
Thank you for the excellent video, 🏍
OUTSTANDING BIKE!
What’s with the pension pack cable clutch? It’s got no place on a premium sports bike brand. Rather low rent for the price. Nothing beats the quality feel and control of a hydraulic unit. Personally I like to shift manually.
Besides that gripe everything else is spot on so well done Triumph!
Looks awesome, I can't help feel that when Triumph say that they omitted electronic suspension from the package it's purely cost driven.
Having an R1M, I'll say that electronic suspension is overrated for the most part in it's current state of the art. The truth is that you only ever use two modes-sport mode for just about everything, and a custom mode where you dumb the damping down hugely because you're riding home from a long day in the saddle and you hurt.
I thought being able to do that was pretty cool until I got my EBR1190RS with it's $30k Ohlins race shop suspension..... Bottom line is that the mass production Ohlins stuff really isn't better than Japanese OEM anymore and the initial portion of the stroke on all suspension that is sold to the masses has limited adjustability and harsh initial damping-even Ohlins. The EBR's suspension feels way softer than the Yamaha in "I'm sore, take me home" mode because the damping is sophisticated and plush... My honest opinion is that in it's current form, electronic suspension isn't worth it. Once you've had good suspension, a lot of things become clear to you.
It's just something else to go wrong
That is awesome bike, totally agree with the keyless ignition. Remember the future is not now.
Well done! Perfectly executed ad.
I'm AMAZED they didn't choose Nitron for the shock and possibly front suspension if they do that. They're as good or better than the Ohlins and they're Brittish, would be the perfect supplier. Real missed opportunity on that. Beautiful bike with a great step forward for sure however.
Nice Bike and presentation! And btw, Keyless lock can go where the sun never shines.
That exhaust reminds me of the EBR 1190RX.
I like the outgoing model maybe more. But I also like they went in another direction. I just hope we don't completely lose the 1000+cc naked bikes that aren't crazy focused on performance like the outgoing speed triple.
Lockdown drinking game: take a shot every time the chief engineer says “ok” 😝
Awesome vid! However, with those figures I’m worrying a little bit over here with my tuono! Will be watching the comparison videos to come closely!
