I like this pattern. In other words after you finish round 16, you repeat rounds 10 through 16 to desired length then go back to part 2

just a reminder, the stitch before the eye socket on row 15 is a half double and after the second eye socket a half double. This will match all the other skull patterns.

Great tutorial all 4 parts!!!! Here's a hint I learned while crocheting doilies. When one has to DC on a long floppy chain, fold the chain into a loop, hold, and crochet the DC into the loop.

This should suffice; you've given us everything we need to finish either method, for which I am grateful. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing it done (Once would be enough, surely) skullcap-to-chin instead of chin-to-skullcap, as I think that would make them right-side-up on a tablecloth with edges hanging off. Thanks again, whether you can or can't. You're the best!

Thanks for these tutorials- I will be giving them a go now we are in lockdown and I have some time on my hands.
This is going to be my 3rd ever crochet project. The first thing I ever done was a basket weave blanket in 3 colours. It turned out ok but not perfect as having never done crochet I made mistakes with stitches and making sure I was crocheting in the correct holes.
Next was a smaller sized lost souls shawl. I didn’t have enough yarn to do the full size I wanted.
Now I’m going to try this blanket with some big chunky yarn and a bigger crochet hook. Hoping it turns out ok. I’m still very much a beginner. I can’t knit at all - never got the hang of it (more tension issues than anything). I find crochet easier. I also enjoy seeing so might try some sort of crochet / sewing hybrid in the future. I’m thinking of making a cushion cover from fabric and doing a crochet overlay that I can sew in and make an interesting looking cushion. Or even a crochet blanket like this as attaching an quilted layer underneath. So many possibilities but I just hope I can pull it off!

If you’re lost on what to do *after the 3dc to the left of the first skull: ch1, 3dc into the ch1sp (the top of the square you just closed in the previous round), ch1, 3dc into the ch6sp to get to the next skull. Work the skull and edges of its square like normal.* Repeat from * to * til you get to the next corner. In following rounds, work the skulls and their squares like normal. Between skulls, it’s all ch1, cluster, ch1, cluster, etc. til you get to either a skull or a corner. After you close the top of the skulls, you’ll have a completed square, but you can keep going granny style if ya like too.

Loving this pattern, but I need to make it large enough for the double bed we have in my themed van, please please please do another video as I'm not confident enough to work out how to increase the skulls.
